I think I'll enter too! smile

Is there any limit to the number of people who can apply for each category? Also even though category 2 starts on a sandy beach, is there any limit to where we can take our protagonist? Do they have to return to the beach at the end, or it it all up to us?

Since I'm also busy with schoolwork, my entry will definitely come later in the month (but still before the deadline). Hope that won't be an issue!

There is no limit on how many entries I recieve for any one category. However, there are limits on how many entries I can recieve from one person, which it says in the rules.
The person who goes missing is walking along a sandy beach when they go missing, but that doesn't necerssarily mean they, or any other characters, stay there! So no, there is no limit to where you can take your protagonist [although I wouldn't advise space], and where they end up.

Do you have any more questions?

That's fine, as long as I get it before the deadline! cat_smile

Nope, that was all cat_3nodding
The first post on the first page says the deadline was yesterday... does that still stand? Or are you still accepting submissions?

Does it? Oh, it's supposed to say until the end of February, so you've still got a couple more weeks to enter.
Okay, I added a poll. Please actually reply with what you think, because I don't mind keeping this ticking over until the end of March.

Well hey there!

Have you considered having a top three, instead of a winner for each category? It might make it less financially stressful that way, haha. Also, have you tried talking to Wing about being an Accredited Host/AGWC? I'm not sure on the specifics, but it would get you sponsored in the very least? I don't know, just some ideas to toss out!

For category two, you said that the person shouldn't be found, either alive or dead. However, can we imply one or the other, or even have an epilogue of sorts regarding it? I have a very neat idea, but it doesn't really end on an questioning note.

Also, will you grade harsher for simpler comics? I'm like... stick-people level. xD Stories I can do, drawings not so much!

Now that is a thing I should have thought of! I did look into being an Accredited Host, but I decided not to at the time. To be honest, I can't actually remember my reasoning at the time. I think I'll probably give it another month and change the rules around a little, and see about being an Accredited Host.

Hmm, I guess you could. When I say "shouldn't be found" I mean it in the sense that I don't want the missing character to actually appear in person at the end.

I'll grade the comic depending on what is given to me. So, on the first post I mentioned the three types I would accept, and so I'll judge them accordingly. For instance, if one is given to me with no art whatsoever, I'll judge it based on how the layout would flow and what the prospected content would have. But if one that was completely finished was given to me, I'd judge it based on the quality of the artwork as well as the storyline.

Not even gold and silver can

I'm glad someone asked that lol
I just finished the rough draft of my story yesterday
The person wasn't found as a person technically but yeah...that'll make more sense when I post the story lol xD

Sounds cool!

But if it's implied they were an alien that vanished into space, or they turned into a mermaid because they didn't kiss Prince Charming, that'd be alright?

Please please tell me it did not always say that 'prose' was acceptable for Category 2. xD I can't believe I missed that. Though, knowing that ones that aren't art-heavy won't be graded as harshly for the art does make it sorely tempting.

Yep, implying is absolutely fine.
Prose is accepted for every category xD. Although, it'd be interesting to recieve a comic entry.
I'm really sorry to all (two) entrants who entered nice and early - but I've allowed for another month for entrants. I'll make sure you two get something shiny when I finally close it.

Also, because I realise 20k doesn't sound like an attractive prize, I've changed the prize money to one 50k prize instead of five 20k ones.

I have one question:
If I decide to enter Catergory Seven,
does it have to be written specifially for this contest
or are we allowed to enter previous written work?

Not ones that have been in contests,
but just something you've already written.

Yep!

However, if you've got it online already, could you please edit the post/add a comment mentioning that it's being entered onto a gaiaonline contest?
I'm not calling you a plagariser, although I'd still like the security net.

Oh sure, I shall do that then;
there is just some work I would love critique on.
And contests like this is the easiest way to get it (:
