I wrote this poem a while ago and then found it again. It inspired me to create an avatar for halloween this year which I entered in the avatar contest. Unfortunately the poem which was the inspiration was too long so I had to pretty much butcher it to try and get the point across. So, here is the original poem in it's entirety. I hope you like it and HAPPY HALLOWEEN! heart

Blind Beauty

He loved her eyes of gray and green,
the loveliest he'd ever seen.
He wooed her and one winter night
he broke her heart and stole her sight.

He left her blinded in the wood
without a coat, a robe nor hood,
She died there in the dark and cold,
(At least that's how the story's told)

It's said she bore a single rose,
clutched in her hand as she froze.
The gift he gave that sealed her fate
the night they went on their last date.

Now when the snow falls in the trees
and boughs bend in the chilling breeze,
she wanders, with a wrath filled soul,
in search of the eyes her lover stole.

So, if on some dark winter night
you see her floating pale and white
with hollow eyes and bloody tears
run fast as you can away my dears!

Sorry for the late reply. No there isn't. I thought about requiring a certain type of prompt or inspiration, but then decided not to. it would be great to have an entry for a short story though. All this gold and not much to do with it.
