The problem with this is that I don't have images of the characters because the storyline may at some point end up as a TV show concept, and anyway I don't really think about the way the characters look except very basically. I'd rather do something abstract.

I have a vague idea for my novel, now... But, uh, no time to plan for it. I still have a damn portfolio to do for my writing class, and I just found out that my idea isn't good enough - it's too long for the limit we've been set. >_o

Have you ever participated in NaNo before? If so, what has your experience been like?
Yes. This will be my third year participating in NaNo. I have won both years, but never completed
either of my novels. My mom kind of mocked me for it, telling me that I can never finish anything.
I'm hoping to change this for this year, starting and finishing in one month.

Have you ever participated in NaNo before? If so, what has your experience been like?
Yep! This will be my fifth year participating. I hit 50k my second year, but haven't finished the novel. I hit 60k my second year, and completed the novel the following summer. Last year, I was under 2k shy of 70k, and completed the novel December 1st.
This year, I'm not aiming for 50k, but it would be nice if I hit it. I'm going to work on getting the beginnings of two different projects done so I have the umph to keep going after November.

The idea was basically centred around these asylum monastries in Ireland that took in unmarried mothers, made them work in the laundries for three years, and then sold their children to the highest bidders in America. The problem I have is trying to convey three different characters and a number of a different time periods within a seven page limit (double spaced...) Ick. It's hard. XD

And, since everybody else is doing it:

Like Daisy, this will be my fifth year taking part in NaNo. The first year I didn't make the 50k, but every year since then I have hit over 100k. Last year I finished the novel I was working on, and in 2006 I did likewise. The only year I haven't finished the novel I starting during November (including my first year, where the novel took two years to finally finish) was 2007, because I lost a chunk of the novel and decided to start something new about 25 days in. xd

I love NaNo. heart I don't know how successful I'll be this year, but I'm hoping to work with a character who featured in the 2007 unfinished novel, and who I am a big fan of. ninja It should be good.

Yucky. That would be really hard. It's a great idea though.
I think that if you simplified the idea, you could make it fit to the page limit.
You could do it as sort of a prologue or sneak-peak to the actual novel.

By the way, I had a question. IMO's doing a fantastic job running the thread this year, but wasn't PMS supposed to? Just wondering.

Oh, and on a side note, PMS, I absolutely love The Nightmare Before Christmas...that's actually one of my favourite songs in it.
