A question for everyone! Do you want to publish your books and get famous? If so, why? What part do you think would be the coolest?

Personally, I don't want to be famous, but I want to have a fandom. If anyone ever wrote fanfiction for me, I think I'd faint with joy. Same goes for fanart. I've had commissions done, but that's not fan art... I mostly want to know what my fandom would be like. Even if everything is horrible and out-of-character and totally inaccurate...

But I digress. Mostly because I no longer know what the topic up for discussion is. Hmmm...

The only reason I'd want a lot of readers is because my stories, in and of themselves, have something to say about their societies, about our society, and about humanity in general. I'm not looking to force my views through my stories or even want someone to think the way I do (Oh God if they did this world would spin off its axis) but to think. I love the kinds of books that are entertaining, that make you think about the more deeper aspects of life, and that are personally valued by the reader. Those are the kinds of stories I want to portray, and if my books were ever published and then reached a level where a good number of people feel that way towards the stories I wrote, I could die happy.

As for theme song, Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls is the obvious choice because it not only is the name of my MC, but man does it hit the mark for a peasant girl disguising as a man and a noble.

Moya: I agree that self-publishing can have benefits. Ideally, I'd love to get a novel published "traditionally", just to prove myself. Then once I had my name out there, I'd like to try self-publishing and ebooks/stories. It could keep costs lower for readers while cutting out the middlemen and keeping the small profits for myself. ninja People say I'm just naive, but I'm one who really believes the future for writers will be more about personal involvement and less about the "blockbuster" industry. (Unless, you know, you're actually writing the blockbuster novels. XD )

I always get nervous when people want to see my work. burning_eyes In my profile's About section, I have links to several stories I submitted in Gaia contests. That's the easiest way. I don't use a fictionpress or any sites like that, so anything else I'd have to dig up on my computer and format for sending. The profile lists them newest to oldest, so start at the top. =3


By the way, does anyone know how I can edit the multimedia on an old school profile? I can't for the life of me find it in Gaia's new layout. D=

I wouldn't want to be extremely famous, but I do want fandom. Fanfiction would be awesome, I'd love to see rarepairs and crackpairs and everything else. I love talented writers and well-done fanfiction. =D

Alanora: They might smell different now, so they don't quite recognize each other. Or I've heard of that happening with dogs, anyway. XP I think they'll be okay once they settle back into home and get used to their new selves. XD

Chigotsa: Oh geez. I see it now. I was never reading that line because I thought I had all those settings taken care of. XD It's probably because they assume everyone has switched to the new style of profiles. sweatdrop Maybe I should have, but my coding is no good with that, so I just stuck to moving boxes around on the old version. >_>

Yeah, besides cats generally don't like each other in the first place. They can only tolerate other cats for as long as possible. It gets worse when they get older...and sometimes more amusing to watch.
