So. The topic for this little nifty story contest it LOVE. I bet you couldn't guess that one.
Everything that you are going to write or type about has to involve the universal topic of love, in some way, shape, or form.
That narrows it down a bit for you, doesn't it?
BUT! There are still a lot of things to cover!
The requirements are below:
You must include atleast four out of these eleven things. (But you are not limited to four. Adding more will add more points.)-
o1) Atleast four corny, cheesy pickup lines. (If you have more than 6, I'll add bonus points to your score.)
o2) One of the main characters pee themselves, or throws up on someone. (If you can add both of these successfully at different times in the story, I'll add bonus points to your score at the end.)
o3) The song 'Two is Better Than One' by Boys Like Girls, featuring Taylor Swift becomes a big part of the storyline. (If you can also find a way to add the song 'Thunder' by Boys Like Girls, More bonus points.)
o4) A main character in the story has to play a string instrument. (If you can make two of the main characters play a string instrument, bonus points. If it's a Viola for the string instrument, bonus points. BUT! You have to put some things in the story about the viola, such as it's difference from a violin, or maybe a viola joke or something. )
o5) The main character dresses like Lady Gaga. (If the song "Bad Romance" AND "Boys Boys Boys" fit nicely into the plot, bonus points. By the way, both of those songs are by Lady gaga.)
o6) A bad break up occurs.(Bad can mean anything...) (If you can make me laugh during the break up, bonus points.)
o7) If it is during the Great depression, WWII (The Holocaust), or the time of the cold war. For this, they have to be effected by this severly. If you can successfully actually write a story in one of these times, I will give you bonus points directly.
-For the great depression, they have to be effected in the United States. Do research...
-If it's WWII, they have to be jewish, or greatly affected by the Holocaust.
-If it's the cold war, they have to live in Germany on the non-communist side of the wall. (I'll look that up...)
o cool The girl is pregnant. (This can mean anything.) (If you have a lesbian girl couple, and one of the girls are pregnant, bonus points.)
o9) A death causes tension in the relationship. (If there is a funeral involved, and the funeral is made funny, bonus points.)
o1o) The theme of the story is 'butterflies'. (If a butterfly is the cause of death in one of the characters, I'll add bonus points.)
o11) A bad habit, or a good deed seperates or brings together two people. (If the good deed seperates them, or if a bad habit brings two people together, bonus points.)
o12) A main character slips on something outside. (If it is ice, and it's snowing outside, bonus points.)
o13) A gift is given to one of the main characters by a random unknown character. (If this random unknown character dies at the end, bonus points.)
o14) A disney movie is referenced in the story. You have to mention one of the scenes, and can't just say 'I love the movie The Lion King.' Or something along those lines. (If you mention something from the movie Wall-E, Monsters Inc., or Mulan, Bonus Points!)
15) A christmas theme is present in the story with out it having to be mentioned that it's christmas. (If A christmas tree falling down is main to the plot, bonus points!)
16) One of the main characters has a serious illness. (If it's cancer, any form of cancer and it seems to fit nicely. Bonus points. If the character with out the illness dies first, or dies... Bonus points!)
17)The two main characters start an argument, but the topic of the argument isn't really about that topic, and it's really about the two characters. [This one is a little confusing. What it means is, if the two characters are arguing... say about ponies and how they act. But what they are arguing about really is an argument about them, then that's what it means. Here's an example:
Now, this is a hannah montana episode. (I know, Hannah Montana...)
But in this episode, the two girls arguing about their parents. The parents went on a date, and Miley's (The girl in the pink...) dad wanted to pay, but Lilly's (The girl in the orange...) mom wanted to pay because she wanted to show she was an independent person. The two girls are arguing about this through the school project, and it's made obvious that their traditions of the country and giving out fish isn't what the argument is really about. It's really about their parents.
If it still isn't made clear, please ask. If you can fit this into your story, I'll just give you bonus points because it's just confusing...]
1 cool Balloon animals are an obsession with a character, and it gets out of hand. (If the balloon obsession is ended in a unique way, Bonus Points.)
19) An anniversary is ruined because of a character's plans with someone else. (If the plans with someone else was planned that way on purpose, Bonus Points.)
That's a mighty fine list up there. I will add more, but I will not change the amount required.
Another thing I forgot to mention:
I don't care what genre it is! It can be a futuristic story, a teen-angst story, a story about gay guys, lesbian girls, a story about creatures that don't exist, I don't care!
