And Some Good Tips & Hints, Too
1. All submissions are to be poetry, not prose or stories.
By my own definition poetry must have lines and stanzas; nothing in paragraph form shall be accepted.
You will know that your entry was accepted if it is listed on the post headed "Entries", below.
2. No PM submissions will be accepted.
Each entry must be posted in this thread.
3. Only one entry per person, per Round.
If you submit something that I do not accept, you may re-submit with a piece that follows the regulations.
4. All entries should be in standard size and color-- that is unaltered size and plain black, unless it is used as a poetic effect.
Any poem submitted entirely in a different font will not be accepted.
5. If you are going to ask for critique on a piece in the OP/L, please put something in your first post telling me that is your plan so I don't give crit.
Alternately, I ask that you don't submit a piece that I have given critique on unless you have edited it after my last read-through.
6. You may edit your entry in its original post until the close date or, if new to the Contest,
until I provide Critique unless you have reached the Current Round,
then you will be held to its close date.
7. Late entries will be accepted if you have reached a certain Round and missed the close date,
but will be subject to the same terms as a New Entrant.
8. You are only allowed to submit two late entries.
This does not apply to Newcomers catching up to the current Round, however,
a Newcomer's initial entrance will count as one late entry.
9. All accepted entries will receive public critique following the close date and prior to the announcement of the next Round or Contest Winners.
10. I am the only judge.
11. Poems I decide are the best go to the next round and, eventually, win, quite simple.
12. Don't try to Friend me just because you entered my contest.
And really, what's the point in that since I'm having this contest before I leave Gaia.
Those of you who I really do enjoy conversing with, please PM me for my email or Facebook.
13. Any aspect of this contest may change at any time without notice.
14. Even though I love a good fight, follow the TOS.
Tip: Check out
Bohemian's Challenge: Hall of Fame to get a better idea of what sort of stuff you should be doing to have a chance at winning.
Tip: Don't center your poem unless it's for a distinct effect.
Fact: I don't care about your feelings.
Tip: Innovation.
Tip: It might be a good idea for you to critique each other in an effort to get the best pieces you can in here to make things go easier on you,
since the difficulty of the following round will be determined by the quality of the pieces that were submitted.
I have no problem with you conducting these entrant-given crit's in this thread,
I just ask that you do not use
orange font like I do,
so that people are not confused.
This is, however, a double-edged blade,
because you could be helping someone else be better than yourself and wind up causing your own elimination!
