lmao, whatever, I'm just glad to have made it in the first trier ^-^

Honestly, I like contests because they give me that prompt to write something. I have a hard time writing without that prompt (which is also why I write commissions, the only downside is that the whole story doesn't feel like mine because I'm merely interpreting characters or situations, or both).

I don't feel confident enough in my writing yet to actually aim for remunerated (or not) publishing. I think, though, that my writing has improved a great deal through the contests I've entered (okay, this is only my second contest, but still xD) because every time I strive to write better for a better result. I like the gold prize, I'm not going to lie, but since it's not real money, it's nowhere near as satisfying as just the thought that my story was appreciated enough to be third/second/first (dream on lol), etc. But, yeah xD, I hope to one day to have my work be published and touch royalties from it. But, at the moment, it's not a pressing priority for me =)

But, yes, if you do ever join a contest of mine, it would be wiser to do something new, because my opinion goes way down, as you experienced first-hand, when someone just reuses the same story. Honestly, the only reason you weren't in one of the higher tiers was because of that. Otherwise, your writing was very nice. :]
