Welcome to Gaia! ::

Holy crap I'm guilty of everything written here. That's just scary.

Anyway: You know you write too much when you're playing bingo at a family reunion and the back of your old cards are covered in ideas.

-When you get yelled at for being on the computer for 10 hours straight doing nothing but write.

-When stepping into a place you've never been automatically gives you inspiratioin.

-When your characters have feeling and often are hurt by what you say to them and complain about what you make them do.
You know you write too much when you pull up to a red light and inspiration hits you like a light and you dig around in your car to find a scrap piece of paper (which of course you DO have, along wth a pencil) and write it down before the light turns green.

True story.

guilty as charged, cept i don't own playing cards. jeeze, i'm guilty of just about everything here! by the way, GREAT THREAD! mrgreen
I HAVE MORE!!!

You know you write too much when...

-Your teachers have confiscated ten or more of your stories for them distracting you in class.

-When anyone asks you what you did over the summer, you only have one answer: "Wrote."

-You have so many pens and pencils you should never have to buy another writing utensil again...SHOULDN'T, but probably will.

-Anyone who knows you never has to ask what you want for a special occasion: they give you a notebook or a giftcard to an office supply store.

-You say something from one of your stories without meaning to, start laughing hysterically because you can't believe you did that (but CAN believe it at the same time), and everyone backs away from you because they can't see what you're laughing about.

-You have a quote book full of the snappy things your characters have said.

-When someone asks you to name all the things you've written, you say, "Uh...let me think..." and either a) go off to get something to write them all down on, or b) start counting them on your fingers and asking, "Wait, did I already say that one?"

-Your idea of a perfect day is one where everyone leaves you alone so you can write in peace.

-Your biggest role model is a famous author.
-have long arguments with your characters when they don't like what you're doing in the story, and ask them for help on tests when you're not sure of the answer.
(Very True)
You know you write too much when:

* You have to stop and think of your friend's name because you were going to call him/her one of your character's names.

* When asked who your best friend is, you say White-out and Eraser.
...You have a hook for both hands because they eroded from so much writing/typing, but you give a very detailed story about losing them in a war instead of telling what really happened.
You know you write too much when you sit up in bed at 4:00 in the morning to scribble down an idea that won't let you sleep.

You jump out of your shower because an idea hit you and it simply can't wait (my muse is sadistic like that)

You kneel down and bow in front of a StarBucks logo, needing coffee and or sugar to continue writing for over 48 hours.
You know you write too much when you skim through this thread and exclaim to anyone within earshot: "Hey! I do that... and that. Oh that's a good one! Oh, look, look, I do that too.

You know you write too much when you screw up on someone's name, and the name you said is one of your characters' names.

You know you write too much when you feel you would just die - right there, on the spot - if you lost all of your stories due to some disaster.

You know you write too much when your own characters ask you take a break for a bit.

You know you write too much when you have to cancel your life-saving liver transplant surgery because you're in the middle of a really exciting part of your story.
You know you write too much when...

Your teachers have to force you to make your reports shorter.
You go through pencils too quickly during school and then have to buy new ones... in october.
You mimick people behind their back's because of the way normal people say, "That's good."
You bother to read threads posted by fellow writers.
Your parents tell you to hurry up and write that bestseller so they can go to Mexico.
Your room doesn't have a floor, just piles of paper.
You spend all your spare time flexing your hand because you write too much.
... when you begin to narrate your life, out loud.

... when you start speaking in the 3rd person

... when you carry at least 4 DIFFERENT notebooks, filled with random notes and character descriptions.

... When you pass the time by writing rediculously stupid situations for random people in your classes.

These have me written all over them.... XD

Haha, that was hilarious. Which is even weirder because sometimes, I actually do it. stare

this shall be a collection of warning signs that you may need to take a break... or get some help.

When you start to carry a miniature notebook with you Everywhere in case inspiration kicks you in the face.

When someone asks for a writing utensil you jump at them and ask which they would prefer: pen or pencil, what brand and/or what color.

When someone asks for a writing utensil you fear the loss of said implement like it's your arm and act like you've never heard of such a thing.

*add your own*

Oh my god. . . do you know of a writing rehad clinic near Michigan? ^-^ I do all of that. I actually have many different mini notebooks that I put in all my bags. That way, no matter WHERE I go or which bag I take, I always have one.

Wow. . . that sounds really lame. Feel free to flame as you will. mrgreen
