Here is a basic sentence breakdown.
arrow Remember that every sentence has two parts: a
subject and a
predicate. These are otherwise known as a
noun and a
verb. Ex:
I am. If a sentence is missing either of the two, it is a fragment.

adjective clauses. For now, we'll focus on identifying the
independent clause. An
independent clause can function as a sentence on its own. Ex:
The dog ran away.

dependent clause cannot function on its own without the
independent clause. Ex:
Because there was a loud noise, the dog ran away.
