Welcome to Gaia! ::

Hey guys, just wondering what other sites people are using to get reads, reviews and critiques.

I googled a few but found fictionpress and amateur-writing.com to be too inactive.

The ones I'm currently still frequenting are:

Writer's Forum (here)
Amateurwriting.net
Inkpop.com
Wattpad.com

But I've only managed to collect around 300 reads and a dismal 15 or so comments. I wish people would just leave a comment saying they read it or some simple thoughts. It's a rather lonely feeling not having anyone say anything.

Anyway, are there any other active sites that you can get a decent amount of reads and comments?

I am not yet done.

Writing.com
From what I can see it's active; though I think if you post a story and don't review other stories, chances are your story won't get read, unless gift points (writing.com's 'currency' system) are offered.

I recently got into Figment.com.

It's a pretty cool place. The only issue I've found is the people there tend to shy away from reading longer pieces. The site actually gives a word count and an estimate on the amount time it will take to read something, so if you post something that will take over 10 minutes to read, expect not to get much traffic, lol. It's a bit frustrating because pretty much all of my good stories are too long for most people to read. xp
I'll check out writing.com thanks for that tip.

I just remembered Figment, I have an account but haven't posted anything yet. I'll amend that soon but yeah, it's an internet-wide thing I think - people don't want to read long pieces on a computer screen.
