Do you think you can give advice and such if we use a penname or any complications that come with it?
Also what you know about the "About the author" detail you find at the end of the book, and what we need to do about illustrations. Also, the cover of the novel. |

Publishers will do the illustrations and cover art, usually without asking for any approval from the author. I'm not entirely sure about illustrations provided by the author but cover art is more something that goes through the marketing department.
Pen names are your decision. You query an agent/editor with your legal name and can choose a pen name afterward. This applies to conventional publishing houses. If you are doing POD or vanity presses, then you obviously can do whatever you want about cover art and illustrations as well. |

So I may send illustrations along with my manuscript, requesting them to be published along with my manuscript, but it's up to the publisher to allow it? (It would save them time and probably money to do it myself)
