Welcome to Gaia! ::

I have a problem that I believe many others share. I have this amazing idea for a story and I'm all fired up and super excited and!!!......I get stuck. I have an incredibly hard time figuring out how to begin my stories. Any advice?
Just start it. Worry about hte best place to start it once the first draft is done.

Alternative: plan it out.

Start writing at where the idea starts. Sometimes it really helps to work backwards while writing, so instead of starting at the beginning and ending at the end to see where you're going, switch it around. Start at the end and surprise yourself with the beginning. smile

          Suck it up, buttercup, and deal with the fear. Or the stuck.

          Just write.

          My favourite quote:
          "Writing is easy - just stare at a blank piece of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead."

          Take it to heart, or not. Just write. Even if it's not your story. That'll come when you're ready for it.

          Also - I, too, would drop everything for a mad man with a box. Great to see another Whovian. >w<
Helpful smile Thanks all! Go Doctor Who!
i dont know the genre or the story line but if you need assistance i can send you some words that may inspire you. i write alot and that helps me
If you're really having that much difficulty starting it, you may want to try writing a scene that you already know what will happen and see if that will help get you started. More often than not you gain more ideas when you're writing than when you're thinking about it.

Alternatively you could start out by maybe introducing one of the characters and see where that will lead you.

Don't forget you can always go back and edit things after you've written them, but if you never start writing in the first place you will never get any where.

Hope this helps.
