I don't know if this is the same as freewrite, but I find that this is very helpful;
You should sit down with a timer, a pen and some paper and just write for ten minutes, you are not allowed to stop. If you DO happen to stop, you have to reset your timer and start over.

not sure if this will help for most, or if even this remedy has been posted already but for people who are having trouble writing a piece on your comp, try to handwrite a particular difficult piece. It worked for me a lot more then I thought it would. Hope this tid bit helps. smile

I find that sleep is very improtant (and I'm not kidding!) A lot of ispiration comes from dreams and many authors and poets have used dreams to get started in a novel or defeat writer's block. It also helps if you write out of order. You don't ahve to write in order for a story to be good. Write some of the beginning, the ending, back to the beginning, then maybe the middle. When you're nearing completion, or if you just want to, you can then put it all in order. It really helps because then you write what you want to write and what inspirers you at the moment.
