What works best for me when I get writer's block is to just take a break from whatever I'm writing. I write something else, do some art, go ride my horse, etc. Just do something that clears your mind for a fresh start with new ideas and ways to incorporate them into your writing thus far. I also do a little thing with my horses where I spend time with them and write about what seems to be going through their heads from their point of view at the moment. I then try and look at what's going on in my story with that mindset. A bit silly, but it helps me a lot. |

biggrin Whenever I have writers block, I read part of one of my stories again, or watch Sonic or Yugi-Oh. It helps so much. If you dont like Yugi-oh or Sonic, watch a show that you do like! Suddenly a fanfic or whole new story will pop into your head, though it may take a few episodes. blaugh

When I get stuck for ideas, I like to grab a tape recorder ( I'm bad about notebooks ) and record a conversation about the story with a friend. Generally my friend is a good sport and will just sit there and listen, but sometimes he'll chime in. That trick almost always gets me back on the right path again.
