The Gaian Summer WriMos is over! How did you do?

RA: No worries. It wouldn't really be late until after June 1st. XD But I had seen your signature and after having the ScriptFrenzy thread mysteriously never appear, I was feeling a bit paranoid.

Jasper: Just aren't interested this summer or busy with other things? You could always take a break from wrimo-ing. Or set a lower goal so it isn't stressful.

I'm hoping that sometime this summer, my writing engine picks up. Last Suwrimos I had a flurry of productivity at the start, and then it faded off. Even Nanowrimo was a bit of a struggle. Then I had a burst of short story activity somewhere at the beginning of the year, and now I'm in a rut again. o_<


I'm trying to make notes for the newest book, and it's painful. It's supposed to be a prequel to the other books in the series (but it makes more sense, I think, if read after the first two). I thought it would be simple because I know so much of what has to be included, but... there are so many things that need to be answered and explained. @__@;;

It's just general depression. sweatdrop And I haven't written much of anything recreationally since *checks* February.
I probably will set a low goal so as not to pressure myself, and then when I reach that just keep adding 5k.

Here's what I do--I have a separate word document for the worldbuilding, and it is not a tidy document. Just put everything in there--don't worry about being tidy, that can come later, just put everything in as you think of it. That way you can simply refer to that document as you need to, and put in questions and answer them right there for future reference.

Yes, that makes sense. I actually have something similar, although mine might be even less tidy than yours. XD It's a document labelled "Rambling Exploration" and I basically just write in stream of consciousness from one idea to the next. I type all the thoughts, the pros and cons, as if I were just talking to myself, and I hop back and forth between the world and characters and anything that crosses my mind. Along the way, I uncover a lot of questions and come up with a lot of good ideas. Then later I'll go through it all and rewrite the final ideas in a cleaner (but still somewhat messy) General Notes document.

I'm also going to make rambling documents for each of my main characters, just to follow their "journey" and answer all the hows and whys of everything. After that, it might finally be time for the first outline. >_>;;

I'm behind in my writing schedule. I was supposed to be finished up with my Nano '08 novel by now, but I'm not. Now I have to decide whether I want to finish that up before moving on to the next thing or if I want to just set it aside and start fresh for Suwrimos. burning_eyes

Now look here. . . I was going to sit around and think about joining this thing. . . and then you had to make it apparent that you're joining. razz

I think I'm finally breaking that barrier between thinking of my MC as the world-dominating "villain" and thinking of her as a fresh character on the start of a journey.

Also, I solved a problem of how they'd get between two cities that should be at least a couple months apart, if not more, yet they hop there and back in a day. Then I realized, "omgzwtf, Eve has the whaleship!" They can just take the ether sea. I can't believe it took me so long to figure that out. rolleyes
