It's amazingly insulting when someone points out a typo. I mean, tha'ts worse than insulting your mom. And if they say 'you made a mistake:X' or 'this is not a word' that's a really mean way to say such a thing. They should be much nicer.

Next time someone corrects your use of a word, just say proudly "What are you, a dictionary?" Then wheelie out on your scooter.
Your characters should tell the readers exactly what they are going to do before they do it.
Every villain would be better by doing the Vader "Noooooooo!"
It's perfectly okay to imply horrible, severe torture as long as it never actually happens. That's not going to make readers think it's a cop out after the fifth time you do it.

You don't even have to show the aftermath, because there is nothing worth writing about.

The romance is the only thing worth writing about. Any other parts of the plot, like wars, battles, anything with action, can just be told rather than shown.
Having been a slave most of their life won't affect your MC mentally or emotionally whatsoever.

Slave rebellions are super rare, even in societies where slaves have no protection and they are constantly abused. They only rebel when an enlightened civilized (aka white) person comes along and gives them a rousing speech. emotion_awesome

New ideas and inventions only lead to the downfall of the society. This doesn't lead to stagnation or problems going unfixed or anything.

((Hehe, reminds me of an episode of My Name is Earl where they meet a community of people who split off from the Amish long ago because they felt the Amish were getting too advanced. cat_rofl ))

Of course, I mean, look at all these examples of great civilizations that definitely survived discovery by outside influences.

Polynesian civilization
Feudal Japan
Native Americans
Imperial Chinese

These not only survived but triumphed in the face of foreign invasion, ideals and technology!

((Also... Welcome to the herd. ;3))

Societies can never benefit from meeting other societies. They ALWAYS die.

Precisely. Being locked into Medieval Feudalism for thousands of years is A-Okay.

It's not like thousands of years of isolation would cause inbreeding or make a society susceptible to diseases.
