-oh, and vampires who are 100+ years old, come from some reknowned vampire country like Romania or whatever, it would totally make sense for them to support gay rights, wear chains, mesh, and other modern-day goth clothing, listen to My Chemical Romance (it personifies their dead soul, o'course) and drive fast cars.

((I have a vampire who will be going to America, due to debt problems, and I plan on forcing her to endure the most awful aspects of American culture, such as McDonalds, douchebags on their cell phones, and the Twilight seiries. She can't drive, either, even if she did forge her license.))

No school in America has a dress code, silly. Spaghetti straps and thongs are everywhere. And by thongs I mean both the shoes and underwear. All school kids dress like this.

Anyways, only pretty humanoid species can have normal characters. Any bigger and scarier specimens are dumb and slower than a mountain. Anything more goofy can never be serious, and always end up being incompetent.

Further, all bizarre races must only exist in a comic relief capacity. There is no such thing as a slime (which doesn't exist in the first place) who's just another mercenary making his way in the world by melting enemies with acidic goo. No, he must be some bizarre apprentice slime-mancer whose spells always go awry in horribly sloppy ways and makes bad puns.

((Actually, I am an American, and I go to a school with a standardized dress code, and every day I see guys with the waist of their pants at their knees and girls who bend over and reveal their bright pink, polka dotted thong. So I'm not making this s**t up.

Granted, my high school isn't the best example, but I'd hate to see what it would be like if we weren't required to wear polo shirts and almost any kind of pants other than jeans.))

Either your character's school has no dress code because it's public school, or they can WEAR UNIFORMS SINCE THEY GO TO THE PRIVATE SCHOOL FOR UBER SMART PEOPLE!!! YAY!!! Because everyone knows how great uniforms are!

And make sure you describe the uniforms correctly!

Realistic BAD!!!1! : Long skirts that are knee-length or below the knee; plain, solid colors; polo shirts; ID tags clipped to the shirt or worn on ugleh lanyards; and let's not forget most private schools NEVER tell students they can't paint their nails any color other than light pink, they can't die their hair, and they can't have tattoos or even piercings! And it's not like the private school is probably religious and your character needs to wear a dress to mass every week!
(( My school makes us wear polo shirts and shorts or long pants. Girl's aren't allowed to wear skirts at all. We can wear these dresses that are "school approved", but they're a little too formal and not very comfortable... Oh! And everyone needs to have their ID worn visibly or it's detention for 2 days >_< My school's dress code sucks. ))

GOOD!!!!: Short, pleated mini-skirts; chains hanging from God knows where; dyed hair; nails painted a rainbow of colors; high-heels; Japanese sailor uniforms; tons of tattoos or piercings are allowed; Hot Topic-ish accessories; and you get TONS of bonus points if your character has altered the uniform in some major way to be different! It's not like they'll get detention or anything ya know.

(( I read this poll in a magazine that a whole bunch of girls wished their schools had uniforms. They obviously don't realize uniforms don't equal Japan-magic-school-girl-sailor-moon-costume-power. >_> ))
