Questionable Streaker

Progress: Over today and yesterday I've got 5 prompts done and a few sentences of Storytime.

EDIT: I also wrote 600 words for a competition. It's not finished though

@Loper:
That shouldn't be too difficult then. That's like a short story a week.
I think when I get ready to work on my NaNo I'm going to be using some of their prompts.
A short story a week! But I have procrastination to do!
Some of the prompts are pretty good and thought provoking, but there's one I've just noticed that's so long-winded and confusing I don't even know how to answer it for Earth.

Questionable Prophet

@Kurama:
Sounds like a good way to go about it.
I never have a plot when I start out.
The Fear of Cats is about a cat-phobic detective in a small town doing the detective thing.

@Kitsune:
I know what you mean. gonk
Everything is hetic around the holidays.
Golden broccoli casserole sounds amazing. We're going to be making enough cookies in the next few days to supply a small African village for a whole year.

@Eldritch:
That sounds like an amazing break. OuO
Lucky.
Good luck with the Zombie porn. I don't even know where I would start, "his eyeball fell out, literally."

Hey, welcome to the thread.
That sounds terrifying. But, at least you're writing every day. How long have you been working on your story?
Sometimes taking a quick break from a long project to work on something small, like a short story works.
What's your story about?

@Sango:
Congrats on the page! That's awesome. Writing can take a long time.
I think, if it's not interesting to you, consider cutting some of it.

@Alberic:
Congrats on the words and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to reach your goal tonight. 4laugh
Hope you do get some sleep.
Are you speaking in military time?

@Nikkou:
Hey!
Congrats on finishing the chapter! Christmas stories are awesome.
Good luck with finishing that one.

@Shadowfox:
That's quite long, congrats on it. Hope you get a good response from your friend.
Good luck with the chapter.

@Loper:
You're moving fast with those prompts. OuO
Awesomeness and sweetness on the competiton.

Aw. D:
I've looked at a few of them. It's probably helpful for some.

My Progress:
Am rewriting and moving a scene.

That I am. Makes so much more sense than "civilian" time.

I may be distracted by a slight side-job, yet again... Can't resist the allure of tedious reformatting of projects for buddies of mine. But, who knows. I may write more tonight, or just pass out... Get to sleep in tomorrow, at least.

Yeah, I hope to finally suck it up today and get something written for chapter eleven. (I have given up on giving myself a word count or any sort of goal beyond that, at least until Christmas is over.)

We are also making cookies. Lots and lots of them. I think if we don't eat them soon they'll bury us alive with their sheer mass.

Questionable Streaker

Progress: Two prompts that aren't typed up done, about 150 words on Storytime, 100 on a competition entry

It won't last for long. I just want to get this sub-sub-section done smile

Hahah! I finally got something done! 500 words for Longing, chapter eleven. That means I only have, roughly, 500 to go until that chapter is finished.

YAY! I feel quite accomplished right now.

Hi Desi. Thanks for the welcome.
I've been working on that particular novella for about two months. 12,000 words so far... I haven't really added to it recently. It's about a boy whose sister was killed in a terrible tragedy so he travels onward to Limbo to see his sisters fate. It was kind of inspired by a video game... Really, I think the idea sucks, but I'm highly critical about my work... I almost deleted it the other day actually.
As far as my goal about 500 words a day, I reserve that for poetry, and even then I only write half that nowadays... I don't know. I try to sit down and write but then I get overly critical and delete a paragraph, a stanza, a whole story from my computer and retry... Ugh! Woe is me sweatdrop

I used to be like that. I still am, to a point.

Have you tried sitting down to write something intentionally crappy? Just for writing's sake. I tried it once and it was a very freeing experience.

Oh yeah, and welcome to the thread and stuff. smile

Thanks, my Christmas fics tend to be WAFF incarnate though.
Now working on my original fic. Since it's a remake I'm having trouble with this current chapter since I cut out a bunch of stuff from the first draft.

Sometimes I feel like I give false alarms about my progresses. You know, the one where I'm like, "I finally like what I wrote!!!!" and then when I sit back and look at it from broader stand point, I realize I am still not getting it right.

I don't know. I'm not sure what it is that I am doing wrong. I think I have decided how I will have my main male MC act and be like, and how he will contribute to the story, but I can't seem to find a right balance for my main female MC who won't go on preaching... but also not be so dis-responsive the story goes nowhere and the male MC is left standing, very frustrated with her. She's not an easy character to write. I have been wondering for a long time if I should just change her character completely because it'll be easier that way... but then it changes everything in the story and it isn't going to tell the story I want to tell either.

Anyway, that's MY progress right there. Nanowrimo was a dream by the way. I couldn't keep up after one week because life demanded more attention. Ugh.

Other than that, my other update is that I've changed the style to alternating 1st POV between the two to see if it'll help cover the complex story. It works...but not as well as I would like it to.

Well, my progress has been lacking the last few days. However, today I am writing a chapter (or more) of fan fiction, and get those chapters finished. I have two stories to work on (fan fiction wise) and the one I've been neglecting needs at least one chapter done before I work on the other one. Gotta figure a game plan when the New years hits. sweatdrop Might set the weekends as Fan fiction days, and the rest of the week if I have time for my own stories. Sounds like a good idea to me, gives me a set schedule for my stories that I can work around with when I finish homework. 3nodding

@Desi: Those movies probably have good hints as to what to do just in case. I don't recall if they ever had cats on there, but I do remember them showing dogs. No Terminator could sneak in with a dog around since a dog can tell it's not human. 3nodding

@Roufette: Aw, hun. Don't beat yourself up too much. We all have to learn from our failures. Hopefully your spirits lift up during the holiday. ^-^

I failed abysmally at my first NaNo too, no need to be disappointed.

My Progress: Bad I only edited some summary of the characters and drew the cover for my, Christmas is distracting and it doesn't help I got two new books I've been died to read today.

Other than that: Merry Christmas writer folks!
@Clemence Amorette: Well aren't you sweet =3 The holidays did, in fact, lift my spirits. It did nothing for my wordcount though haha
