I actually have to admit that without Word Wars with my friends, I probably would have given up on this from the start! Committing to a Word War just really gets be going in the thrill of trying to get more words done in the given time than I had done before! I am way to competitive for my own good... razz

I'm over 10k! Wooo! Considering how well this one damn puzzle is going (Apparently I now have two more orphans for Wish House and there was an unexpected hanged woman in the last room the MC checked, which scared the bejeezus out of her, both of which connected to a simple puzzle door...) I'm thinking about going back on my previous insistence on not doing big zomplex puzzles. Did I just write zomplex? Anyway, now they have to fight a huge spider which may or may not be the subconscious self-hatred of aforementioned hanged woman. Then they have to go DOWN the other side of the building, which will be worse. But will not have a boss fight at the end. And at some point I have to go back to the other characters...

I'M GIDDY ABOUT THIS. TORMENTING MY CHARACTERS IS TOO DAMN FUN.

I got my power level word count over nine thousand tonight. I'm hoping to smash 10K+ tomorrow with the B.A.H. (that's Big a** Hammer, fyi. :3 )

I've got my two MCs on their first date right now, just over 12k words into it (nearly 3k into chapter 3) and I'm trying to think of more surprises for him to pull out on her before they head home and encounter another character! Anyone have any ideas for my rich, immortal male MC to have planned for my oblivious female MC? (over the top is cool, 'cause I plan on having her ask him to never go crazy with details on a date with her again)
So far, he's bought their tickets to a movie, then brought her to a sushi restaurant (her favorite), where he had there best table reserved with her favorite flowers set on it.

(No worries! He's not a vampire! No vampire's in my story razz My male MC is actually a phoenix, in human form... which sounds not so cool when I explain it like that, but he's pretty awesome biggrin I heart writing him a whole lot!)

I'm hoping to break 35k tonight. (I'm up to 32000, but I'm having a hard time thinking about what I'm going to do next...it's time for some ghost stalking and creepy psychic-bonding, I think!) If I can get back in the groove, I'm thinking I might be able to touch 40k, which would be wunderbar.

Now, if I could only pull myself from making a soundtrack for this thing... gonk

I think I'm going to jump ahead, I have some later chapters all planned out, that usually helps me get from point a (where I'm stuck) to point b.

That's a great idea! I usually do that to avoid physical character or location descriptions in order to add them later on, but I'll definitely add that to my repertoire of ways to free myself from a road block.

That's a great idea! I usually do that to avoid physical character or location descriptions in order to add them later on, but I'll definitely add that to my repertoire of ways to free myself from a road block.

It is how I normally write. Sometimes I will make reference to things that happened that I haven't written yet, then I have a new idea of what to write.
