Welcome to Gaia! ::

And here I thought I'd have something to screech at someone about, but I thoroughly enjoyed your rant and could not agree more... damnit.
Prair is made of greatness and I would be gay for her razz heart

-blinks- It really is a good rant. ^^; I personally always believed this to be obvious, but then I read some fanfics...and was very disappointed. If only the right people could read this.

Why is everyone writing in small font? Have a missed a memo? *squints*

I'd just like to say I feel very indignant about this thread.

It's all good.

Having said that, the kind of hyped-up manga-rabid teens that are writing the stories you have issues with, rarely handle any deep or complex themes with grace. Abortion, being poor, drugs, etc.

We're also looking at the type of teenager who wants everyone to think 'oh poor them how they suffer'. But they've realised they're not actually beaten up by their parents, or unpopular, or bearing some great weight on their shoulders. So they decide, ooh bisexuality. All the angst and oppression of being gay, without actually doing gay (as t'were).

first off, a lot more people than just manga rabid people cannot handle deep themes!!! And some manga fans can. Being a manga fan just means u like reading manga, not that ur any different than anyone else...
but moving onto the point of this thread... I totally agree. I've actually read some of the homosexual stuff on gaia, and well, it is all the same. Slightly diffrent people maybe, but is ALL the same. and people dont develop their stoies or characters at all either. Its irritating because their is actually some good homosexual literature out there. But if there is any on gaia, or really on the internet at all, thats 1/2 way decent, or really just different than the rest, i haven't seen it.
Whoot! That pretty much sums up my thoughts.
Amen. It's not like every relationship is built on sex, either, so this really must be said to the flaming yaoi fangirls/boys.
This just furthers the point that Prair is full of more win than anyone.
Thank you. This is lovely. Very good points. If only all female teenaged authors would read this and understand. ;___;

Bravo, bravo, thank you very much for writing this! You have my eternal gratitude! 3nodding
I must say, this is a very good post. I am a gay and lesbian supporter, I was even a member of my high school's GSA(Gay Straight Alliance.)
Thank you SO much for this!
Great rant, and although I doubt that most of the people who SHOULD read this will, I can always dream.

I actually just finished a research paper for my Intro Sociology course dealing with the stereotypes associated with gay men and, more to the point of this post, the common misconception that a gay man's sexual preference is his entire identity, so your point about character development is one that I'm longing to copy and paste into reviews for every single story that has this flaw.

However, since that would take an eternity, I'll settle for knowing that at least SOME people have sense xp
