Almost done really, just gotta fix the eyes up and refine. Put in more texture/detail and whatnot.
Not sure if I'm going to keep it rough blend or try and smooth everything out. Mrr.

The painting looks really good at the moment. I adore the lighting especially. :3

In regards to smoothing... I would not smooth everything out. If your paint strokes blend too much you run the risk of the skin looking like rubber. Additionally, having texture in artwork is always interesting for the viewer and adds personality. (It's like, hey, there's a face... and there are marks! The face is made of coloured marks! Mind is blowing! etc.)

Really late reply, but yes, that is Jensen, and thanks for the advice! I did end up finishing this without smoothing everything out (luckily) - I just usually have a tendency not to blend enough. xD

First wip (even though it's done xD): nose is a bit off structure wise, but that might just be me seeing Whoville everywhere.

Second wip: Check mouth/nose/jaw anatomy. Especially mouth, it seems shifted somewhat and the right top portion is just...odd. Enhance the lighting on the ear, it's one of our more oily appendages and reflects light in greater contrast.

Otherwise, I wish I could do realism digitally and applaud you. I'm stuck with my pencils- albeit nice pencils.

You're right about the mouth, I noticed it earlier but am just getting around to fixing it now - the alignment, anyway. Should the top be more rounded in the middle, I guess?
