Need Manga-ish hair help. Will comment back.

Hey y'all.
So I decided to skip back to an anime/manga-ish style because I was craving the style.
Anyway, I've been working on it for like two weeks, and I can't figure out how I want to draw the hair. Short, long, frizzy, curly, gah gah gah!
The reference is my current avatar. I realize the horns aren't the same, but y'know what? F*ck the horns. They literally made me break down and cry one night at like 4 am because I couldn't get them. emotion_donotwant
Anyway, here's the line art/sketch thing so far:

Feel free to critique whatever, but hair pointers are especially welcome. *
*If it's in pen there's little I can do to change it, but I can try. If it's in pencil, or not drawn at all yet I can do whatever.
I'm also considering digital coloring this, but I don't have a tablet so that sounds like a lot of work.

You don't need to bump unless your post falls off the 1st page. This is a slow forum.

I know that its in pen but the lip and nose are not aligned. For the hair I just searched "hair" under tutorials on DA and found these two that seem good enough. Also it might help to you draw the hair before the hat.

I know, but I was going to bed to I wanted to give it one more post before I left.

I know about the nose.lip thing, iI was just going to move it over during the GIMP editing phase. That's not biggy.
But I will for sure look at those tuts, thanks! I was only doing the hat first A) because the hat is so confusing looking, and B ) because I didn't want to waste my time drawing super detailed hair only to cover it up. Know what i mean sweatdrop

B) Maybe better advice is for you get in a rough sketch of everything in pencil first before you go into detail and inking. Get the shape of everything first then go into the details. This gives you a chance to catch mistakes, you won't have to erase all the details you put in before, and it would be harder paint (heh) yourself in a corner.

Yeah, you're right. That's what I set out to do, but that clearly didn't happen I started inking at random. But you are right, I do need to work on that. emotion_yatta
