Any suggestions on the possible background/skin tones/etc.?

Okay, so I'm drawing my avatar as well as my lover's avatar and I'm kind of lost as to what the background should be. I was originally thinking of putting there some shoji screen doors and stuff, but then, that's not too original, is it? Also the skin tones and color tone in general. . .I was thinking of something warm, but when I imagined it to be a bit blue-ish/green-ish (cool hues) it sort of looks good too. confused So now basically, I don't know what to do. sweatdrop
