i am new on gaiaonline. and ive noticed that people on this

site are very mean. they always make fun of me and call

me a 'noob.' i think that is unfair because everyone on gaia

is, or used to be a noob. i think that people should stop

calling each other that, and talk about something else. and

besides, whats wrong with being a noob? youre just new to

the website... youll get the hang of is after a week or so.

no big deal. i just wish people werent so mean.

Not all are mean. It really just depends on where you go and what you say.

In some areas yes, they are overly judgmental and attempt to make a caste system based entirely on items. In other areas that doesn't happen and people are a lot more accepting.

As a general rule of thumb: don't go into towns or rally unless you have a thick skin.

In other cases it's a case of people making social mistakes. Noob doesn't mean "newbie" all the time, it also means moron or brat depending on how it's used. In cases where people beg and pester other users to hand over items, gold or anything else you will see the word "noob" tossed about. If you are nice and respectful you wont have the term thrown at you, if you are an annoyance you will be called one.
