Hello and welcome!! smile No, it wasn't always this way. It's just like this now because Gaia is siphoning cash to support their 18+ website. :/

Be sure to also check out my FAQ for tips such as how to earn gold on Gaia! I also answer the question to why everything is so expensive. And no, it wasn't always that way. sad In short, new management on Gaia sold gold generators to cash users, it poured a ton of gold into the system, prices inflated because people had so much more gold to spend. It's crippled our economy, but the management for Gaia these days is mainly concerned with the sales targets.

Be sure to check out the contests in my thread too. You can earn some cool prizes there. ^^
