Question about refusing gifts in RW!

Hey y'all!

So since each person is only able to send 10 gifts a day... If I refuse a gift because I don't need it/item I don't need- does it cancel out the fact they sent it? Like will they be able to send someone else a gift instead? Or does it nor matter and I should hold onto it just in case? I don't want to be a d**k, but I also don't want to waste anything. eek
