Welcome to Gaia! ::

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 is about a speedy woodland creature with a gun... hmm seems like "Shadow the Hedgehog" wasn't so original after all.

Any good PC gamer from 1994 should have memories of the Jazz Jackrabbit shareware, well you probably didn't know a sequel was released in 1998.
The sequel fetures the most robust 2d game engine known to man, and includes a level editor to boot! The game features over 3000 hand-drawn sprites, all done bye one person.
If you're a fan of platformers, go out and find the demo, or go to ebay and buy the game, since warez sites don't offer the version that has the Online mode.
Game Information
Story
The dastardly turtle terroist, Devan Shell, has constructed a time machine to go back in time and knock off Jazz Jackrabbit's Hippie Parents! In the meanwhile, since the rabbit queen is not impressed with Jazz's turtle ridding skills(Devan did come back after all), jazz is thrown in the Castle Dungeon. With the help of his brother, Spaz, the two rabbits escape from the dungeon and make it across Carrotus to Devan's lab. From there they are sucked into a wormhole and chase Devan through time until Devan opens up the pits to hell in a firey conclusion. Can Jazz and his neurotic bother Spaz defeat Devan before tea time? Oh and theres a bit that Devan kinda stole the wedding ring from Jazz's wife to power his time machine in the middle of the wedding ceramony. You kinda need that if you're going to get hitched.

I haven't played Jazz 1 or 2 in a very long time... how sad for me... it's so good to find another fan. I'm a boss whore too.

Have you noticed Jazz Jackrabbit came out before Sonic the Hedgehog? Sonic started as just a Jazz copy. I am one of the few who know...
OMG I loved that game. I use to spent hours at my cousin's house just to beat that stupid big rabbit lady.

I didn't get that far, but I played Jazz 1 all the way through... Jazz 2 had very good graphics for a 2-dimensional game, and Jazz 1, with all those secret areas... a triumph for the game world, certainly.

Actually the character of Jazz himself came before Sonic(I could be incredibly wrong though, but Cliffy B. said he sketched Jazz(or a character that eventually became Jazz) in High school, but remember he shipped the game at age 17). The speedy gameplay is a sonic ripoff, as the game "Jazz Jackrabbit" was pitched as "The Pc's Answer to Sonic"

You could actually say either of them came first, since Jazz was created first, but the first Sonic game came out first.
I can't think of a good way to disguise a bump as a post.
