We got our mertails! Thank you, admins! heart
I want to thank everyone who signed this thread, and who supported me and encouraged me. It was at times tough to keep updating (you people sign fast! XD), but I knew people were really looking forward to new edits. It made me feel good to know people appreciated my sometimes not-so-great efforts at pixeling. XD
This thread got to be more popular than I ever imagined--5600+ signatures. @_@ I'm glad I'm not the only mermaid lover on Gaia. XD I put a lot of work into this project, and I'm immensely satisfied to see it succeed.
I know people still want more varieties of mertails, but for now we should be happy with the beautiful ones we got. 3nodding Whether Gaia makes any new ones in the future depends on how well people like these current ones.
For now, I've got lots of other ideas I want to concentrate on, and further mer-things will be sort of a side project. I do plan to continue making occasional new edits, which I'll post in my feedback thread--either my current one or a new one, depending on what I decide. However, you can also look forward to fauns, nagas, centaurs, moth items, dinosaur items, better goggles and whatever else catches my fancy^^. I'll be one busy edit-maker^^;;.

Okay. So. I want mertails. Badly. So I started this here petition. =D
Here are some examples of how I think they could look. The edits are all done by me:
"Gaia" Tails:
These are "Gaia style" edits, which means they have hard pixel edges. I tried really hard to make it look like a Gaia-quality item, but...eh^^;;. I'll just have to keep trying. They're just nice, simple tails, and are closest to what I imagine Gaian mertails would really look like, regardless of all my fancy edits.
