Okay, this thread is about sex toys in general, I guess. I like vibrators. They're cool, and there are so many different kinds to choose from. I really want one of those rabbit pearl vibrators, but they're way out of my price range... actually so are most good vibrators, and I refuse to buy a shitty one. More on that later. So, being the uber-techie that I am, I made my own vibrator using the motor of my old electric toothbrush xd Anyone ever made their own sex toy?
Anyhoo, my other point is that sex toys are not regulated by any government agency in the United States. That's kind of scary, that they're not even regulated/tested by the FDA, so anyone could make and sell a potentially hazardous sex toy, and sell it, with no legal consequences for the harm done, because probably 95% of sex toys (that's a statistic I assume, not a fact) are sold with the label 'novelty only.' A lot of the material used for sex toys is toxic, too. The one I can think of right now are dildos made of a certain kind of rubber that was already deemed unfit for kids' toys, because it leeches toxins and occasionally contains lead. And you're inserting this crap into a bodily orifice!! gonk That's why I refuse to buy anything made out of something other than medical grade silicone, which is non-toxic, non-porous, and easily sterilized.
