12/4/06- I'd like to apologize for my recent absence. Everything's out of date and Lyrin's been doing her best to keep everything running smoothly [Thankyou,Lyrin!@_@] during my leave. In case you were wondering, my power supply for my computer blew up and I'm in the process of getting a new one. It happened about a week or so after Halloween.

Anyway, there's still a bit of work going on [Lyrin>Shadow], even though you can't tell all very much. There's a new menu coming soon, along with a new minigame. HOPEFULLY, if all goes right, we will try having a holiday party with special games and prizes. One more thing: Forgive us, we didn't give out an EOM last month. Lyrin's been fairly busy, herself, dealing with school, parents, and such.

That's it for now guys. If all goes well, I'll be back within the next week or so. - Shadow

I'm currently working on overhauling the frontpage decor. Suggestions and such? Lemme know. Also, I'm looking for any banners or other things I can use on the frontpage. Payment could be an option, if I happen to like your work.

We'll need some help running the bar, so here's a list. There's also employee job ratings and steps to getting a position on our staff. Do an exceptional job and we may consider you for the 'Employee of the Month' award!

Employees of the Month will remain on the front page until next month's choosing and will receive either that month's donation letter, an item on their wishlist, or a monetary sum.

All applicants MUST have;

1. Read the first page.
Trust me, I'll know.

2. A comprehensive grasp on how not to type like an idiot.
If you can't take the time to be literate, I won't take the time to read your application.

3. A complete application.
An incomplete application = someone hasn't read the first page.
How can I hire someone who can't read?

Applications:
Must be PMed to me and must meet all above and below requirements. It involves;

1. A short paragraph detailing which position you'd like and why you want to work here.
Note that you may not apply to certain positions, such as the Cashier job.

2. Recommendations from TWO [2] staff members, PMed SEPARATELY BY THE STAFF RECOMMENDEES.
Translation; my staff must be able to recognize you. Reads; you need to have shown up in the thread regularly beforehand. And I'm not talking bump posts. I'm talking comprehensive RP/conversation for AT LEAST ten [10] minutes a pop.

REQUESTS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS SHOULD BE MADE IN PUBLICLY WITHIN THE THREAD. NO BLANKET REQUESTS. ex: "Anyone wanna write me a rec? =DDD" If you don't know the staff well enough to ask around, you're not ready to apply.

Guidelines for Recommendations:

•Please label who the rec is for in the subject title.
ex: Recommendation for Shadow Dude.

•Inside the recommendation, the position they are applying for MUST be listed.

•The recommendation MUST link to the public request in their recommendation. This is to discourage any and all forms of foul play.

•I'd like good qualities, bad ones, and any problems we may have, if any, with this person. Offer your own opinions on why this person should be hired. Do not hesitate to talk to us. The recommendations WILL be kept confidential.

•If you list a person as being 'a hard worker', for example, I want to know WHY you see that person as a hard worker.

•Keep in mind, you don't HAVE to write a recommendation for someone. If you don't think they'd be a good addition to the staff, DON'T DO IT. Also, do not write a person a recommendation, simply because they're your friend. We want good employees that'll do their work as they should and not neglect us.

•Once the rec has been sent to Shadow, notify the applicant that you have sent the recommendation. Under NO circumstance should you allow them to read what you have written.

I'd prefer your recommendations to be from two staff not on your friends list, but I won't fuss. Too much.
Obviously, if I receive horrible recommendations, I'm not going to hire you.
If you're on the blacklist, forget about it.

You'd be surprised how far I remember.

By the by; if you apply, I'll also go digging through your past posts IN GENERAL. Even if you've been an absolute saint here, if you've repeatedly demonstrated a flagrant disregard for basic decency, I'm going to have serious doubts about adding you to the employee roster.

Addendum;
I might ask you to tweak your app to include an ADDITIONAL recommendation from a third party if I have doubts.

3. Have 'Milk' somewhere in the PM title.
A side note; 'twould probably demonstrate intelligence and foresight on your part if your recommendations and PM share the same title.
You also get bonus points for clever titles.

MBL Banner Contest '06:
The guidelines for this one aren't too strict. Put your creative side to work and help decorate the Milk Bar's frontpage!

-Contestants may submit one entry only to the MBL banner contest. The image must either fit signature requirements (500 px x 500 px) or be usable as a header image for the front page.

-It doesn't have to have a Christmas theme, but we'd like some sort of Zelda element involved.

-We'll be giving out prizes for the top three banners!

Dropped Rupees:
Gah! Some idiot must have a hole in their wallet, there's rupees all over the place!
I will randomly post an image of a rupee in the bar. [I'll only be using these images in the thread to play the game. If you see one in any post I may make, snatch it up!] The first to quote this image, saying "Rupee!" will recieve the gold prize. If you don't spell it correctly, you don't get the prize. The different images
and their values are listed below:

Green Rupee: This is the most common type of rupee you will see. Be the first to quote them and you will recieve a prize of 50g.

Well, then. Here's another way to snatch up rupees and earn some gold. In this minigame, I will post an image which looks like this:

Then, you must do what the prompt says! Guess which rupee the randomizer will stop at! It will either be a Green, Gold, or Pink. If you guess correctly, you will win the value of the rupee it stops at!

Once I post the image, direct a message toward the slots or just quote it.Only the first three guesses will count and only one guess per person. You may guess the same as someone else, if you wish. Be quick and try to guess the rupee!

Note: To choose the winner, I will use the random number generator.

Beat the Hobo!:
Oh, yes. Our good hobo of the MBL loves a good gamble. In fact, he's so confident in his abilty to throw dice, he'll occasionally issue a challenge to the patrons by posting an image which commands you to 'Roll!'. Roll a number higher than him and he may give you a prize. wink

[In order to roll, you use the feature built into the posting system. Simply choose two six-sided dice and post. You may roll once. The first three people to roll dice in their post after the Hobo initiates the challenge may participate. After the three participants roll, the Hobo will follow suit. In case of a tie, the players remaining will roll against each other. The highest roll wins. Winners will recieve a prize in gold or items of unknown value. No exceptions will be made if you fail to follow the rules.]
