I've found that those who don't abuse their authority seem fairly rare.

There is so much truth in that statement its not even funny/

it just seems like the sort of people they hire are usually counter-productive to the position.

I think they start out with the right intentions but over time the job wears on you and you get tired of dealing with s**t. At least that's what my cousins and uncles say.

can definitely see that happening, but I also think that the standards for becoming an officer often match perfectly with the type of people who were bullies in high school. and the authority goes to their head.
