Lol, yeah, seems so. The impression I walked away with from the harry potter books was Gryffindor=bravery/loyalty yadda yadda, ravenclaw was smarts/wisdom, slytherin was ambition/power and hufflepuff was for all the 'normal non special kids' :/

also for some reason I saw them as bees? bumblebees? XD

I think everybody got that impression from the books, with the way people like Hargid and even Ron talked about them. After getting into Pottermore, being sorted into Hufflepuff, and reading Rowling's own description of the house and the qualities of those in the house, my mind was changed.
