I knew this kid named Max, he used to get fat stacks out on the corner with drugs.
He liked to hang out late.
He liked to get s**t faced and keep pace with thugs.
Until... Late one night, there was a big gun fight. Max lost his head.
He pulled out his chrome 45. Talked some s**t!
Wound up dead.

Now his wife and his kids are caught in the midst of all this pain.
You know, it crumbles that way. At least, that's what they say when you play the game.
But god forbid you ever had to wake up and hear the news.
'Cause then you really might know what it's like to have to lose.
Wait, so....
Your defense for anti-gun policies is a song about a dead fictional drug dealer?
And you also decide to ignore the normal argument to comment on the song.
I should use music references in more arguments.

He's right. It actually made me laugh. How old are you that you feel so cornered as to use a song for an argument rather than an educated response? Because from what I've seen, you repeat the same argument over and over again and I respond over and over again and you're just too blatantly ignorant to take the point.

Well, I invite you then to answer the same question I gave to the OP, which is this:

I'm sure you're probably better informed than he appears to be.
I don't care enough about Obama to follow up on his policies (unless I miraculously stumble on something). Mainly, I agree with the OP that the US citizens have the right to bear arms towards an oppressing government.

That doesn't help your argument at all...
My argument was that I'm pro-2nd Amendment, regardless of whatever policies the President decides to enact.

That is very stupid.
If gun rights were expanded to a degree, then people (common everyday people) could have an arsenal somewhere within the confines of their house and be able to challenge your rights with the guns you "oh-so-very-much love".

You shouldn't stick to one opinion if you truly want to protect your liberties as well as others.

Or rather, you shouldn't stick to your opinions if you want YOUR liberties. Quit trying to switch our argument for your benefit. Because it fits your point terribly and there are no, absolutely no, solid facts or reasoning to fit them together.

People don't challenge rights. Hence "We the people" The government does.

The government challenges our rights. Read those words right there, the government. You see? The government challenges our rights. The government. The government. NOT our fellow Americans.

For every corrupt gun owner there are thousands that are not corrupt. Overall, equal arms is a benefit, certainly NOT a con.

Read the constitution and its amendments. For the billionth time, guns are there to protect us from the government, and they have. Throughout history, gun ownership has never been an issue, but suddenly Obama decides he's going to remove military grade simply because that's his opinion. An opinion without a true, solid reason.

Yet there is a true solid reason to have almost equal arms with the government. Of course we don't own tanks and helicopters, unless permitted somehow, but we have our semi-automatic weapons which protect us from such tyranny as Obama is beginning to impose on us.

And don't you ask me HOW he is imposing on us, because on a post on the 3rd page, I explained it twice. Twice.

You could at least read the policies to see if they really are threatening your right to guns. To me, you're just going by what people say without checking it out for yourself. You're on the internet right now. It shouldn't be that hard to look it up for yourself instead of putting down something you don't even know about yourself.

So yea, your argument is pretty much obsolete. neutral

I keep seeing this point over and over again. How is Obama threatening our rights? I'm not about to go research for an hour again. Read my twice posted response on the 2nd or 3rd page and you will see there my response and the points boldened to make it simpler for you.

Obama plans on taking military grade from civilians, making us vulnerable to tyranny as the founding fathers sought to prevent. They felt this was so important, that they, in fact, felt it necessary to create a second amendment saying "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED"

For decades upon decades this has not been an issue. Suddenly it is. And it is because people are trusting our government far too much and becoming content with the government controlling various aspects of their lives.

A rise in ignorance.

I read the policies and they very much DO threaten the rights of gun owners and Americans as a whole. The 2nd amendment ultimately protects YOU.

So why don't you, rather than tell this individual to read the policies, go and find the policies for yourself? Obama guises his words but read between the lines.

Wait, you don';t have to read between the lines because he blatantly stated in the last debate, on LIVE television, that he was removing assault rifles from civilians.

And to the people posting on how civilians shouldn't own military-grade weapons:
Soldiers are trained to hit and kill a target from 300 meters. And if, for some oddball reason (which is a valid reason in its own for the government), should the government decide to declare martial law on its civilians with force, I'd wanna neutralize my target before they target me first.
But, I keep forgetting that there's like 1,000,000 anti-gun people on Gaia, and it appears that they should expect me to just stand in the middle of the street with a big neon sign that says "3 shots - $1".

So I propose this: instead of taking everyone's rights away because obviously you don't care, how about we call up Nerf and have them develop a toy gun that shoots cupcakes for the pacifists. Maybe, if you're lucky, you can give one of the soldiers cavities.

I wasn't referring to that at all though?

What I was trying to say was that he didn't even look at what the policies were before making his claim. I understand that you did and you had information to back why you think so, but he didn't. He said he didn't.

To me, he was making an argument based on what he heard instead of actually looking up what it was about.

I will not give up my military grade rifles, I will not allow the government to have an advantage over me. I will not give up my constitutional rights and I stand firm beside the second amendment. When the whims of the government begin to destroy our livelihoods and our society begins to bleed communism, it will be us, those with weapons, that will stand for you.

Even if someone holds the same opinion as me, I feel that is very wrong to not look through policies or educate themselves before they state an argument. It actually does more bad than good.

Exactly. This is a very good topic to debate on because everyone has their own opinions and views on this. It's just a shame that people will say "well, I support this no matter what the law/policies may say for/against it."

By the way, I'm very much neutral on this topic, lol.

No we're not. I'm actually the calm person who would rather carry on with my daily life, but now that's compromised.

If you read a lot of history (I have been recently), you find that every socialist or communist or tyrannical movement begins with disarming the people. Obama is taking military grade weapons from us. No, he's not taking all weapons (though he tried to push a bill or two in Illinois), but this puts us at a severe disadvantage to the government.

This is a HUGE thing in America. Huge, huge, huge. This completely goes against the constitution, and the right to bear arms, all arms, is one of the greatest stresses by the founding fathers. They stressed it enough to throw at us the 2nd amendment.

So you can see why people are treating this so seriously, because this isn't about us keeping our "precious semis", this is ultimately about our freedom. Even though, yes, lol, I do love my guns and seeing how they work mechanically as a watch, but that is my motivation, not my reason. That, and my family smile

No, I saw your argument, dear, but I already responded to that argument a number of times and yet you keep throwing at me the same argument because that is the best and only ammunition you have.

Every time I argue about gun rights, it moves as this, because ultimately gun owners have more ammunition than those who believe their rights should be removed (no pun intended).

Neutral is good, butNot going to lie, I'm hoping you find common ground with me. Lol for the past few weeks me and my dad have been biting our nails. We actually have government people who visit our shooting range and it's like a movie: tyranny always starts this way. Eating at freedom slowly, and people are already signing from the union because of this. It's crazy.

This is random but it feels like a movie. We had the hurricane tear through our area recently: people fighting over gas, looting, loss of resources, little to no power, and a government thats sorta starting to show up randomly and watch us shoot targets.

Chaos everywhere. I don't know what it's like where you live, but my grandparents say this is the first presidential election that actually worries them.
