Welcome to Gaia! ::

Being among the few Americans who wander aimlessy, but willing to listen. What am I to expect in these next four years?

This is just a honest question with no bias behind it...

both opinions from both Liberals and Conservatives are welcome, but please, no mudslinging or criticizing each other's opinions

Festive Trash

Increase in debt.

Getting major fines for not having health insurance.
Anymore thoughts?
      Stock market crash.
      Recession becomes depression.
      Nuclear war.

An economy that'll continue to grow at a slow and steady pace, a higher tax rate on the rich [house willing] and the full induction of universal healthcare in the US for the first time ever. Or as the republicans call it, Socialism

Fashionable Shapeshifter

I can keep going to school
My family keeps there health care with pre existing condition

lol yes, because the stock market has doubled [record highs], the recession has already ended, and well.... Obama prefers drones....

So yea, perfect time to feel lied to about Fox News and I dunno everything they've been saying about this election, and stop being their zombie.

Tipsy Exhibitionist

My first guess is:
Not much will happen, as the republicans now got 4 more years of acting like dicks against Obama in the congress.

I'd just like to notify you personally, and I support neither candidate, though I care less for Obama I guess. The votes aren't even close to in. Since you are obviously open-minded, don't listen to their projections.
Higher debt. More coontries hating us. Higher unemployment rate. Still going to be stuck. More terrorist attacks. Higher taxes.

Maybe another great depression. Hopefully the house can step in before that happens.

Friendly Heckler

An eternity of infighting in Congress, sadly. A focus on jockeying for party advantage. That's just how it's always been. (Did you know that last year we had the second-highest average age in Congress in history? Hopefully the results of this election may shake things up- 80 year old rich white men are not the only demographic in America, and we desperately need new blood.)

In the next four years, change is going to be slow. There's no helping it- fixing something delicate (like the economy) is far easier than breaking it.Things will probably fuctuate between 'worse' and 'better' for a long while without ever being 'good'. It's not going to be fun, but barring further crises, financial matters will gradually improve. Not good news if you're buried in student debt now, but if you want to buy a house someday you won't have to sell your firstborn.

You can also expect to retain your civil rights (or gain them, if you happen to be LGBTQ), as Obama's track record shows him refusing measures that restrict the rights of women and minorities (as opposed to the Republicans, who are notorious for attempting to restrict and control both). Recent results show improvement here.

Full disclosure: I voted for Obama. I am not particularly fond of him, but am virulently opposed to Romney and his hateful Republican attitudes. If I weren't afraid of Romney winning, I would have chosen a third party candidate.

The recession ended? I wish I lived on your planet.

Demonic Lunatic

slowly recovering economy

Recession means steadily declining, so the planet I live on is the one with 23+ months of constant job growth. Thats not the say the economy is perfect, he's always said there was more work to be done. But if you don't think we're better off now then we were 4 years ago your jus another lost mind to the factless right wing universe. The same universe predicting Romney's victory and saying everything from the polls to the economic numbers were rigged and or simply inaccurate. So yea, don't try to play me, cry yourself to death bout Romney's loss lol s**t kill yourself if it bothers you so much. I assure you politics will no longer effect you if you do.... Or facts for that matter.

Do you really think that more countries will hate us since Obama was elected? Because the majority of foreign countries favor Obama compared to Romney so I think, had Romney been elected, that perception of the US would have took a turn for the worse.
