Ultimately I'm glad that Obama got re-elected because I actually know him and Romney a little bit. Obama really is as smart as the media portrays him to be and believe me, that is EXACTLY what this country needs after eight years of George W. Bush.
I kind you not, people. George W. Bush really IS as dumb as he seems, and that lack of intelligence is one of the reasons why this country is in such deep trouble.
I say that I'm glad Romney lost not because I'm some "left-wing", "liberal", or "bleeding heart socialist" that the sore losers would probably say. I'm saying that I'm glad Romney lost because that man was/is completely wrong for this country. He really does believe a lot of what he was saying. Not all, but a lot. Being as filthy-rich as he is means that he can't relate to the vast majority of people in America; how can he? He's got tens of millions of dollars at his disposal while practically everyone else in America would be lucky if they have a few thousand. He's also a Mormon; that's NOT a bad thing, but his beliefs definitely aren't in line with the rest of the people in this country. Most importantly of all, he's a very firm believer in capitalism and privatization. Privatizing everything from FEMA to health care to public safety sounds great to him, but he's so isolated from the other 99% of Americans that he doesn't understand that it's one of those things that looks great on paper but would fail in real life. Romney's worldview really is very unrealistic. If he'd actually portrayed himself as a moderate instead of an ultra-radical, he would have done better.
But that's what you get when you associate with the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump, and Newt Gingritch.
