Name: Jockel Giftmann
Age: Complicated. By his count, older than Human civilization. By others': 16.
Gender: Male.
Sexuality: Jockel refuses most human interaction, outright ignoring the undetermined.
Personality: In a deep sense, frightened and shell-shocked. Outwardly, he is haunted and cold.
Appearance: Jockel always wears a thick trench coat, save for when he bathes. A lack of sunlight has turned him as pale as a ghost. Earth-brown hair, cropped short, rests in a mussed fashion above his bright green eyes.
Biography: An curious, if arrogant, boy of 16 once attempted to break into a mysterious old woman's home on the edge of town to discover her secret; for she must have had one. After nosing around for about an hour outside, the old woman returned to her home. Despite having to possible means of knowing the boy's intentions, she proceeded to furiously berate him for his would-be crime against her. The boy attempted to run, but found that his legs no longer worked, paralyzed by the old witch. The witch looked him in the eyes, mouth moving in a convoluted pattern, arbitrarily shifting every so often.
The world cut out, and the boy awoke in his bed. Deciding it was a dream, he shook of his experience and went along with his day as he normally would; school, talking to his friends, homework, sleep, etc. The boy awoke in his bed. This continued itself for exactly 100,000 years, the boy none the wiser. At the end of his temporal imprisonment, the witch appeared once again, and yet again chanted a spell. This spell, however, ended the imprisonment and gave the boy memory of all of the centuries he spent doing the exact same thing over and over again. The boy collapsed, twitching under the strain of his knowledge. When he awoke again, he was at the edge of a mysterious, bustling town.

"So you have a flare for magic after all. Now my only question is, Is it strong enough?" he asked pointing to a nearby crate and shooting a ball of fire from his finger which instantly ignited the box. "Are you capable enough to do that?" he asked, possibly a little more sarcastic than usual. "Being able to turn water vapor into water is child's play. Even a witch could do that," he said letting his arms drop to his sides. "Look, I don't mean to be rude here but all I'm saying is, you'll have to do better than that to gain access. I could test you if you wanted."

"I've only known about magic for 2 years. So technically I am a child in magic." She nervously shifted her weight from one foot to the other.

Cylus crossed his arms and shook his head slowly. "For an enchantress or a witch you might be. But If you intend on partaking in the arts of high magic as a wizard does, you should already be able to at least blow something up or......... break an illusion." he said smiling slightly at the last part. "Would you like me to test you to see if you've got it?"

Emilia notices how weird this guy really is. She doesn't even know his name, and yet he's offering to test her. What does that even mean? "Okay I guess, but no weird stuff."

"Oh, but magic isn't anything but that," he said smiling. "Let's start." he stuck out his hand, fingers outstretched, in her direction. When he closed his hand, the ground around her sparked and ignited forming a perfect ring of fire around her that stood a foot over her head. "If you really think you know something about magic, get out." he said leaning against the wall as he waited for her to solve the dilemma. As he waited, he began playing with an energy ball. This may have been taken as mocking to everyone but Cylus wouldn't know. He didn't have friends in school after all.

Surounded by the sudden blistering heat, Emilia had no idea what she had been thinking when she came here. Why had she even bothered to go to a place she was forbidden from. She was going to be late home, and then her parents would lock her in her room. She could only think of how hot this fire was. Emilia then realized she could do this. She remembered the time in her room with the water, gathered all the magical power inside her, and used it to push the water from the air. A sudden burst of rain come down around her, leaving her clothes wet, but the fire gone.
(Thanks)

Jockel sat, perched hawk-like, on an arbitrary parapet of a particularly fancy home in the center of town--deliberately carving slices out of an apple. His thoughts, as always, were on the immediate present. After his ordeal, he became obsessed with the present, and more than a fair share of mad. 'The weather is clear enough,' thought he in passing, watching the scurryings of the people below. None of them noticed him, and he'd keep it that way, please and thank you. 'I may just sleep here today.'
He leaned forward, head and shoulders over the edge of the parapet. There was a small commotion in the lower streets. An intense ring of flame stood out to him. And though he couldn't quite see who--or what--was the cause, it went out after a mere twenty seconds, it was drowned in a torrent of water. Jockel said nothing aloud. With his movements betraying nothing of his mind, he tossed the halved apple into the road below and took off at full-tilt over the rooftops, cramming a slightly large derby over his hair and securing it there.

Lonely Kitsune

Username: Kitsune Kirara713
Name: Ember Pyria
Age:16
Gender:Female
Sexuality:Straight
Personality: She is quite and doesn't like to talk to people very much until she warms up to that person. She is not very quick to be angered. She can be sarcastic and doesn't like it when people underestimate her.
Appearance: She has long black hair that goes to the small of her back, and her bangs fall down in-front of her face covering her right eye. She has bright sapphire eyes. On her right hand there is a pentagram tattoo. She always wears a hoodie or a jacket with a hood, even if its 100 degrees outside. She wears skinny jeans on a day to day basis. She is about 5"7. She is very pale even though she spends most of her time outside
Biography: Ember was born in a small village and was never considered an actual person in her past schools. When she was 8 her mother had put the tattoo on her right hand, which was what happened to everyone of the Pyria name at that age. When she was 14 her mother died which released her magic powers. She was able to burn her mother's body and use the wind to sweep her ashes into the air. She began to learn magic after that and has mastered some of the ancient scrolls they had for her to learn. She is now going to Alumnia to further her magic abilities.

Ember walked through the allyways and stopped when she saw two people near a wall and saw the air freeze momentarily. She sat on a crate near there so she could watch what was about to unfold. She raised her eyebrows when the ring of fire came up around the gir. She watched as the girl had put the ring fire out and smiled. She saw some people that were like her so she felt happy to just watch them test each other.

Emilia looked to the other end of the alleyway and noticed the girl sitting there watching her and the boy. "What do you want?" She asked the bright-eyed girl.

Cylus cocked an eyebrow and readied himself for another spell. Just then he noticed the girl sitting on the crate. He lowered his arm calmly. He sensed a great amount of magic coming of her. It was parallel to that of his own aura. Though hers was fire based where as he was ice. How very interesting. he thought to himself. "I assume you're here for the wizard academy as well?" he asked gesturing in her direction. "That's well and all but I'm afraid I've been sent by the dean of the academy to make sure not just anyone got in. You'll need to be put through three tests just like this young lady is currently doing." he pointed at the other rain drop girl as he said this. "But I can see your skill in magic is at a high level already. So I'll have to test you a bit....... harsher," he said in an amused tone as three pillars of ice which were all pointed at the ends appeared and aimed at her. "Do you accept?" he asked. Keeping the other girl in his mind.
As Jockel knew and maintained that he had the charisma of a slightly damp sack, he hung back on the roof overlooking the two--no, wait; three new characters. Three. It's a crowd now. Then Jockel saw something... weird. A quick as he could imagine, a triad of icy spears appeared; as seemed to be memetic recently. Jockel looked closer, and saw a subtle shift in the fabric of reality. A clever thing, like pulling a certain brick out of a structure to completely change it, except more controlled.
Jockel, with some intense concentration and, what he was sure was the beginnings of a truly horrid headache, he was able to repeat that act close to the source. The act manifested itself as a small patch of hoar-frost creeping up the boy's pant leg.

(As clarification, Jockel is pronounced with a 'yuh.')

"Wait, what? Three tests.. that one was hard enough on it's own..." Emilia exclaimed. "Have you forgotten that that was only the second time I've used magic?" Emilia was starting to breath in and out quickly. Calm down She thought to herself.
