Darren walked slowly up the familiar stone steps, his fingers embracing the cold of the stone. His mind raced threw all the different ways he could transmute it, manipulate it to his will. He sighed then slowly turned his lips up into a warm fuzzy smile, he made his back relax and made his step lazier, and he looked like an average guy going to an average school. He walked to the front doors and slowly placed his hand flat against the long sleek wood, remembering all the components in the wood. Turning to face the wide courtyard surrounded by would he realized no one was there, all the better for him.
Darren slowly pushed open the heavy wooden doors, quickly being greeted by the familiar smell of roses and dust. He walked into the main hall and saw the dust fall between the beams of light that shimmered across the room, the warm glow enhancing the marvel of the room. He gave a polite wave to the young woman working in the front desk then headed to the wing of the school with the dormitories. It was a short walk to his room which was located at the end of a long hallway. He knocked first on the door to make sure no one was inside then entered.
His room looked the same as he had left it last year. Earning all his dead families wealth by birthright, that was, quite a lot because his family had killed quite a few wealthier families in pursuit of a life of luxury, and the fact that he had the wealth of DES. Behind him, his room was very lush. He had a large bed in the corner and a very large closet. He had a small sitting area in one corner and a large carpet in the center of the room, his desk was covered in electronics and a high tech computer. He had a TV sitting on the wall in the sitting area and his own private phone line. Risks could not be taken with Des. His room had originally been for two people but was converted into one to match his needs.
He walked to the dresser and started to unpack his new belongings, all the clothes were folded perfectly and all the objects were unscratched and clean. He moved slowly around the room putting everything in perfect order and once he finished he slipped his bag into the overlarge closet and proceeded out of the room, locking it with the key he kept around his neck. It was the only copy of the key, if he needed things cleaned he brought them out, no one went into his room without him being present.
He wondered around the long halls for no real reason, not very many people were there, just the odd person wandering or in there room. He finally got tired of the reasonless wondering and sat down on a nearby chair in the cafeteria area. Even though none was around, he still looked happy and joyful, but his heart was still as cold as ice.
