Angel looked down at the table for a long time before answering the question ask of herWell you see, my whole family was killed the night I was changed. I have no idea who did it, but i imagine it was the man that changed me.Angel looked at Alex and tryed to half smile but failed.But I am ok now, I plan on getting better with my powers and maybe develop new ones, you know. Angel putting the though of her family out of her head looked back up and smiled at them. The truth was Angel could remember nothing from the night of her attack other then a strong sent of blood and a man telling her he would come back for her someday.


Angel then looked at Ronnie waiting to see if she had any family to talk about.

Ronnie listened to them carefully, and finished off the rest of her salad."My mother and father were both mermaids, well I mean my mother was a mermaid, and my father was a merman. My father is actually King Triton's brother, which I suppose makes me King Triton's neice." She folded her hands and thought for a moment. "My family is wonderful, honestly, but they... they're not too fond of humans. At all. At first I thought they were overreacting about the trash the humans were dumping in our oceans but now... I'm not so sure that's what they're complaing about... So you can imagine what fit everyone fell into when I told them I wanted to attend school on land." Ronnie gave a small laugh, and took another gulp of water. "I don't think I'm ever going to have the same connection with my family again, it really upset them that I decided to.. try something new and go up on land instead of.... following through with their traditions."

Ronnie sighed, "I suppose that even though we are all really diffferent, we all came here looking to develop possible abilities, and to be accepted." She wiped her hands on her napkin, and threw her trash away. "Are we just about done here? I really want to check this place out."

"Yeah, it seems like we're all set," Alex replied hastily, shoving the last bit of his chocolate-chip scone into his mouth and his water bottle into his drawstring backpack. He honestly didn't know what to say to Ronnie. He thought he was making a sacrifice, giving up the pampered life of living with his wealthy father in his large suburban house and, on the weekends, out in the country with his mother and younger brother. He guessed all he was giving up now was the ability to see them whenever he wanted. Angel doesn't even have parents anymore, he thought, and Ronnie's relationship with hers is increasingly strained... He wondered if he was going to be the only student here that didn't have a tragic or mysterious past. "Angel, are you all ready to go?" Ronnie and Alex had both stood up and pushed in their chairs, but the delicate young vampire hadn't even begun to get up.

Angel got up and pushed in her chair. Lead the way Alex Angel said shyly. I am sorry if I am quite sometimes, just give me a good old push and ill talk more.Angel said smiling. She garbed her left over blood that she didn't drink and dumped in into her water bottle or for her blood bottle.I am sorry Ronnie that your parents were like that to you, but no matter what I am sure they still love you. She said smiling at her.

Ronnie made sure everything was in her hand bag. "I suppose you're right Angel... Hold on a second. I've got to buy a bottle of water." She patiently waited in line, and ended up buying three. Ronnie stuffed two in her bag, kept one in her hand, and put her floppy white Sun hat on her head. "So what do we want to check out first, the gym? Maybe we could check out the pool later, that would be fun. I heard there was a tennis court, one indoors, and one outside." Ronnie walked over and opened the door for everyone. "We haven't got all day!"

Angel smiled and walked up to Ronnie who was at the door waitngLike I said, you or Alex lead the way. It doesn't matter to me where we go.She just wanted to be around people.

Angel had been alone for so long she couldn't remember what is was like to just hang out or talk to normal people in general.

Angel Also pulled out a hat and placed it on her headWe don't want me passing out now do we.She said jokingly. Unlike most vampires Angel could go outside, but to much sun made her feel ill.

Alexander Vance

"What about the forest, guys?" Alex said jovially, glancing over at the massive, looming mass of trees that circumscribed the school's northwest boundaries as well as gave it a somewhat mystical charm. "I know we're not technically supposed to go out there as brand-new students, but hey, it's not like we're going to get in trouble as long as we stay close to the edge." He turned away from the girls and stepped forward, crossing a few feet into the manicured lawn which separated them from a new adventure. "I mean, we don't have to," he said, turning around, "But we might as well check it out before classes start, right? Who knows when we're gonna have this much free time?" He beamed a toothy smile at them, hoping he still had enough of his boyish charm to get them to agree.

Angel smiled at Alex. lets do it, I might be fun. And your right we may not have time when class starts. Plus it will be in the shade so I won't have to wear this hat.Angel then turned to Ronnie and said Are you in?

Angel liked Alex's mind set. She needed to get out more and do more things.
She went to meat Alex in the yard.I miss the sun sometimesShe said smiling.

Ronnie wasn't very comfortable with Alex's idea. I mean the forest isn't really labeled on the map... And... Honestly Ronnie had never gone hiking before, and the idea of that posionous ivy, mushrooms, and snakes pretty much terrified her, even though she would never admit it. "I'll go, as long as we're on the edge of the forest. No more." She gave a weak smile, and took a huge gulp of water. "On second thought, I might have to go to the bathroom. I'll just... catch up with you guys later. Forests really aren't.... my thing." Ronnie gave a faint smile and fixed her hat.

Everything about Enma's appearance suddenly brightened as Karina said she would be her friend and began leading her to the dorms. It became clear that she was being too hard on herself, it was actually easier than she had thought to make aquaintences and even a few friends along the way. "Sorry if the question made you feel kind of awkward. I've never had more than two friends before, so I've started asking people to be their friend, which is a little peculiar, actually, very peculiar." She gave a wry smile as she walked alongside Karina. "But anyways, I guess this means we should begin some friendly chatter. Something like.. well.. what are you, if you don't mind me asking. It's almost too easy to figure out what I am, the ears kind of give it away." She said, her cat ears beginning to twitch as if on cue.

Angel looked at Ronnie and said Ok, I guess we will see you later. Angel then turned to Alex and smiled I guess it's just the two of us. So I am ready when ever you are.Angel smiled and started to slowly walk toward the forest.


Angel Was glad she made to new friends but she was a little nervous to be with a boy all by herself.

Ronnie sighed, relieved, and quickly made her way back. She took her digital camera out again, and looked over the pictures she took before. Satisfied, she took some a few more shots.
"It's a funny way, to make ends meet,

" She took yet another sip of water.

" Ronnie took a few more pictures, and gave herself a tour of the campus. The parts of the school that were clearly on the map.
