Garrett Sanders
Garrett laid on his bed in his room, flipping though his phone lazily, taking a small break. He'd been busy non-stop since he got to the school a little less than a week ago. Much like the teachers, Garrett had arrived early in order to take care of business, and make sure that everything was set for the up coming school year. He wasn't actually required to do this, but chose to do it anyway. Garett took his position as head student rep very seriously, and often went above and beyond what was asked of him. It was his duty to make sure everything went as planned, and a bit of preparation was always good. None of the other student reps showed up early like he did, so he had been here with just the teachers. He didn't really mind it, though the school was a little erie when it was so empty. It was even worse when you consider that outside the schools walls, and wards there was countless creatures lurking in the forest just waiting for their golden opportunity to take a chomp out of him. Rolling over, Garrett looked at the clock on his night stand. Students would be arriving soon. Actually, they probably had already started arriving at this point. He breathed in deeply, then let out a long sigh. So far Garrett had more on his plate than ever before. Weird sightings in the forest, nightmares affecting the students, anti-human whispers around the school. Having that much to deal with would wear anyone out. Even more so when you considered how much time he had invested in each one of them.
Sitting up in his bed, he glanced about his room. Everything was nice, tidy, and organized just as he liked it. Though, it was probably due to the fact that Garrett only ended up spending time in his room when it was time to sleep. Other than that he was out, and about, working on something. It might seem a bit maddening to always be doing so much work, but it was all for a good cause. The more work he put in now, the better the future would be, and for him that made it worth all the work. Besides, this was his last year in the school after all! He was definitely going to go out with a bang! Standing up, finally, Garrett walked over to his desk and gathered up his belongings. Giving his room was last look over to make sure he didn't forget something, he turned and exited his room. Locking the door behind him, Garrett looked down the hallway, searching for signs of other life. He didn't see anyone, but he could hear activity in a few rooms. "Hm, looks like the students have started arriving after all." He said to himself quietly. With a small smirk he turned and made his way down the hall. He briskly made his way out of the co-ed dorm building, and out into the school's interior court yard. Once he was in the yard, he finally saw a few other students. When they locked eyes Garrett flashed them a big smile, and a friendly wave. They waved back, but didn't seem anywhere near as enthusiastic about it as Garrett was. That was fine with him. He didn't really expect everyone to be as friendly as he acted. Honestly that might be creepy. Like some kind of brainwashed children of the corn type of thing, except nice.
He figure he should probably stop and ask if they needed any help, but they seemed to have the hang of things, and they looked to be older so odds were they were returning students. As he continued walking he couldn't help but feel excited. The school was finally opening, and all the students were coming back! The busses that picked them up would usually arrive one after the other, with no more than 20 minuets between them, no matter where they originated from. The school did this with some type of magic, but he wasn't sure what. Garrett didn't really care too much about how a bus got from one side of the country to the other as quickly as they did. The trip was always strange though. You get in the bus, and before you know it you're at the entrance to the mountains, and then a little later you're at the school. The distance each bus has to cover seems to be completely irrelevant to the amount of time it take to make it to the school. He would have to ask Headmaster West about it before he left the school permanently.
Finally, Garrett reached the main building and made his way inside. In there it was already looking much busier. Students were lounging about in the hallways, laughing and catching up with their friends they hadn't seen since last year. He worse a small smile on his face as he walked past him all. While he was excited to see all his fellow student reps again from last year, he was equally excited to meet the new incoming student reps. He would be sure to show them the ropes, and make sure they felt nice and at home here. After all, they had a busy year ahead of them. Garrett made his way into the main office, and spoke with some of the school's employees. Things seemed to be going smoothly, which was a good sign. Garrett had seen first hand the exact amount of students they were getting this year, and it was a far greater number than last year. At this rate the school was either going to have to stop looking for new students, or start expanding, which wouldn't be easy in these mountains. He figured the wildlife would pretty much make that an impossible task. When the school was first built, the worst you had to worry about meeting was a bear. But, all these years later that was no longer the case. He supposed it didn't matter too much. The school would be fine soon enough. The winds of change were blowing, and damn did that breeze feel good on his face. He stopped to help a few new students, by giving them directions to the schools dorms, before he left the office himself. And now for the part he had been waiting for!
Garrett left the main building and walked out to the school's front courtyard. He looked out to see it was already starting to flood with students as they arrived by the bus full. Looking about he was already spotting many familiar faces. He made it a point to try to meet as many students as he could. He wasn't exactly friends with over half of them, but he at least knew them. He figured his friends would start to show up soon though. Till then it was just a matter of waiting. And what better way to pass the time than help out? Garrett walked the middle of the court yard, and simply stood there for a few moments looking at everyone. For every person he recognized there was at least two others he didn't at all. Well, it certainly seemed like he had his work cut out for him. As he scanned the crowd, movement from one of the surrounding mountain peaks caught his attention. He wasn't quite sure what he saw, but it looked like a really big bird. It was hard to make out at this distance, and it quickly retreated from his field of view. He looked out with a small frown. It was strange indeed, but he didn't have time to worry about that now, at the moment he had a job to do! Clearing his throat he threw one of his hands up into the air. "Attention everyone! Can I have everyones attention for just a moment!" He announced loudly to everyone. "Hello!" He said brightly, while looking around with a bright smile. "My name is Garrett Sanders. Im sure many of you already know me, and for those who don't, you will soon!" He said still smiling. "I'm the head student representative here at West Academy! I'd like to welcome everyone back for the new school year! If anyone needs any help, there are teachers waiting to assist you in the main building, or you can just ask me!" He said in an extremely friendly tone. "Thank you!" He finished simply then waiting for other students to come to him for help.
