Even angels have...
Why did you go to her, Gabriel? Damien asked the High Elf inside his head.
Because she needed to know the truth.
But you did not give her the truth.
No, I did not.
Why, Gabriel? As poor an excuse as it would have sounded, it would still have been better that the speech you gave, no?
Yes, Damien, you are correct. Perhaps it is time to go to her yourself.

Damien sighed. It was.

He left the church, ignoring the possible consequences. He found Juniper easily enough, with help from Wrenna. "Juniper!" he called. "Why did you leave?" he asked. He really did not know, but was sharp enough to sense that he'd disappointed her somehow. He stopped following her, and simply spoke. "I am sorry if my actions inside the church...disappointed your expectations of me. I'm sorry for Gabriel's horrid manners, too. He tends to be very condescending, but he means well." He chuckled. "The truth is really a poor excuse for violence, but I think you deserve it nonetheless. I get very agitated even getting near the church, and being in it makes me tense. The fight the other two were having, plus those two...evil people staring at us just set me off. I apologize again for my actions." Damien was grinning sadly under his mask. He'd come to Loq because he wanted to stop pushing people away, but he was doing it again.

At the sound of her name, Juniper slowly turned 'round. Puzzlement, then amusement, crossed her soft features at the sight of the masked young man, and she found herself smiling warmly at him.

"It is quite all right, Damien. Oh, and Gabriel. You've no need to apologize. I've forgotten it already!" Lacon raised an eyebrow at how... cheery the princess sounded. He could never understand how one of his kind--a royal!--could possibly be so nice. At times, he wondered if her pleasant disposition was simply a facade to her true nature...

Juniper waved a hand as if dispelling the air, hoping to end Damien's discomfort-- she assumed he was uncomfortable apologizing and talking about those unsavory church people; it was certainly uncomfortable for her to listen to.

"Can I try one of your Earth delicacies before we return? They look absolutely dreadful." In a good way, of course.

User ImageMarina had found herself in a long open hall outside. There was a small green garden with hedges that acted as a wall behind it. However, the moment she got closer, she could feel a thick layer of magic hit her and the pungent smell of rot. The atmosphere was suffocating and the magic strong as even Marina could not get passed it to see just what they were trying to hide.

"Wondering around?" Marina snapped her head around to see the father standing with his hands behind his break, regarding her with a strange kind of smile. "It is lovely isn't it?"

Marina didn't miss a beat as she smiled and lowered her eyes to the side as a child of shy innocence would do. She glanced at the roses that were bright with color. Smells like corpse."Yes, it is, Father." This seemed to feed his ego as a "righteous holy man" as he seemed to puff up his chest and raised his head the slightest bit. "I should get back father." She said with a smile as she had planned to disappear through the next door.

"I think you mean to go that way, my child." He said while regarding her with some strange expression. She stopped mid step, having to control her irritating feelings; he was not as unobservant as she had thought. Of course, she knew which way led back to the main court, but she wanted to know what was behind that ever hidden door, tucked between two corners that would be missed by most others. However, it would have to wait as she gently tapped her forehead.

"I'm just all turned around." She stated with a sigh. "Thank you, Father. Have a blessed day." Marina may not have been the most holy of woman, but she knew the game well and she would continue to play it, for now.

The wolf continued to remain within the back of the church as everyone began to do their own thing. Well, at least the ones that weren't zombies in this place. Some of his old gang members themselves had become mindless slaves to whatever this place was preaching. It bugged him constantly. What were they actually teaching? Order was just some stupid farce to make them believe that the outside world was nothing compared to the salvation that this city provided. 'Tch, as if I'd believe that bull s**t.' He thought, glaring once again at the stained glass that just felt so oddly menacing.

"Yo." Nick called out to his gang, who then quickly huddled together with the alpha wolf in the middle. "Start sniffin' around and figurin' out what the hell is goin' on in this church and city. s**t just doesn't feel right to me." At that, he received a nod out of everyone. They all shared the same feelings about this place. "Don't get yourselves caught by Mr. and Mrs. Sunshine, or anyone that ********' looks like they're some church official. Let that happen, and you're pretty much screwed." With how they held themselves, no doubt they were an absolute threat to the student body here. Especially the newcomers and himself. "Get out of here." The group gave their signature bark of unison before dissipating outside the church. It was only then that they split up and went almost in every direction possible. Nick himself gave a grunt before leaving the church lastly.

Once outside, Nick looked around to make sure his boys were off on their tasks. It looked like they were long gone. So, it was safe then. From his pocket, Nick produced a pair of square framed glasses and placed them on his eyes, adjusting them slightly. 'Hate wearin' these things...' He thought to himself before climbing up the side of the church and looking around once he reached the rooftop. "But, whatever the hell we can figure out about this whole church bullshit, the better." He sniffed the air lightly, picking up on the scent of Marina, Juniper (and her bodyguard Lacon), and Damian/Gabriel. Marina was closer, though he found that three of his gang members were nearby to Juniper and Damian's location. So, he sprinted across the rooftops and headed towards Marina's scent.

Nick wanted to keep tabs on these three. They were a bit... different from most of the people that came into the city.

Damien chuckled. "Delicacies? I don't know about delicacies, but if you want a staple of Earth cuisine, you have to have a cheeseburger."
I think calling a cheeseburger 'cuisine' is pushing it a little, Damien. Gabriel said lightly in his mind.
"Come on." he beckoned to Juniper and Lacon. "Let's see if we can find a burger joint in this city." He walked in front of them, many inhabitants of the City moving out of the way of the intimidating young man wearing such a mask.

They walked through the City, Damien keeping an eye out for a place that at least looked like it might serve burgers. In the back of his mind, he could sense three of the dog-demons that followed Furball around following them. He didn't mind. Furball probably just wanted them watched.
Finally, they came across a small shop with a menu outside. Damien looked, and luckily enough, there were a couple of different types of burger. He opened the door for Juniper and Lacon, and then stepped inside himself. "You know how to order a burger?" he asked them, thinking they might not, unless their little touch-to-learn trick had taught them that, too.

User ImageMarina managed to arrive close to the roof as she stood on a balcony. The view of the city was quite brilliant as building after building hugged close together. She could only make out the smallest part of earth in the far distant, but it didn't look green. She stepped away from the door, walking to the rail to look over the edge, but just as she did, the door slammed closed. She whipped her head to look at it and narrowed her eyes. Great.

Marina let out a sigh as she leaned on the rail for a moment, gazing at the roof below her, but was a ways down. She played with the idea as it would be the best choice since the door she had come through had been obviously locked, leaving her on the balcony outside. A soft breeze lifted her dress the slightest bit and she took in a long breath. As she exhaled, she hopped onto the railing with perfect balance as she hiked her dress up, revealing long legs with a delicate lace garter strapped around her thigh, but what it held was not so nice looking as sleek fine knife with a jagged edge hugged her thigh. She glanced down, snapping her fingers and the skirt half of her dress retracted until it looked as if she was wearing a strapless shirt. Suddenly she wore black skin tight leggings and cream colored boots; magic did wonders.

Marina knelt down as if cocking her legs bags like a gun and with a burst of energy she jumped from the railing with her arms out, using her center of gravity to flip herself upright. The roof she had aimed for proved to be a bit further than she anticipated, but nothing to worry over as she used the wind to push herself further; too far. As her feet hit the roof she spun to slow herself down, grabbing hold of the tile just as her heels were over the edge. Marina stood, glancing behind her to see how far she could have fallen before shaking the tingling feeling from her feet after a land like that. She stood with a hand on her hip as the skirt of her dress wrapped itself around her bottom half, covering her legs once again.

Nick usually has three particular groupies that stick around him. We shall consider them Thing A, Thing B, and Thing C (despite their names being Jack, Chris, and Darius). They aren't considered main characters, so they don't necessarily require full on attention and built character profiles, correct?

"So, alpha said for us to find out stuff about things that go around here, right...?" Jack, also known as Thing A, asked his friends as he scratched his head. He was also a wolf demon, similar to Nick, yet Thing A had normal brown furred ears and a tail. He was taller of the two, though he was far from a leader of the trio, displaying little strength difference. One might see him as an omega.
"Uh, yeah. Think we should follow those two then?" Now came, Chris, Thing B, who was a typical dog demon. He actually had the head of a dog and fur and everything. He was more of a muscle head compared to the others.
Finally came Darius, Thing C, who was a hyena demon with the ears and tails, shorter of the three, and super lazy. In fact, he was the one that got hit earlier today by Damian. He talks a big game, but his bark is worse than his bite. "Well, duh! C'mon, this is important "Data Gathering", and if the boss says it, then we'll follow it. You remember when Alexander didn't do what the boss said?" All three stopped on the roof top, shuddering in fear as painful memories sprung up.
"Oh s**t, that was scary." Thing B whined slightly, ears against his head. The other two agreed as they began to stalk after both Damian and Juniper, loud and obviously complete disgraces to ninja and kunoichi everywhere...

Meanwhile, Nick had found Marina at a balcony. Thankfully, he was out of view, but should he make any loud noises or make himself noticeable, Marina had to simply fare her vision slightly above her, and she would find the blue furred wolf. Since Nick was unnoticed, this would give him an advantage on following her and finding out anything worth noting. So, stealthily (unlike Thing A through C), he waited and watched on.

He took notice of her display of powers. Upon her leap, it seemed fairly acrobatic, but more along the lines of a gymnast's abilities. However, what seemed odd was that she looked like she had an extra push for her leap. She actually shouldn't have made it. His ears did pick up on the slight rush of wind for a split second, yet felt none against his own face or skin. Did she possess some power over the wind as well? So fire and wind... that would mean she had to be some sort of elementalist. It wasn't an idea to dismiss, though he would need to observe more of her power utilization. After all, she'd have to command other elements as well. Marina did seem capable of such abilities.

Nick also took note of her strange shape shifting clothing, involving the addition of black leggings, boots, shifting of her dress to a shirt more so... what purpose did that serve? He scoffed at it quietly, not making much sense of it and watching her as her normal attire returned. Swiftly, he ducked out of sight as her head turned behind her, though what he seemed safe as she was only taking in the sight of what could have been a really bad day should she miscalculate her jump. When it was safe to do so, Nick popped his head out and prepared to leap himself. However, the landing would make a fair amount of ruckus. He'd have to leap and land on the edges of the roof with his hands grasping it. That would still create a somewhat noticeable sound, but at least he would be out of sight. So, Nick assumed a crouched position.

                              Whoosh!

The wolf leapt the distance with ease, perfectly measured compared to Marina and latched on to the edge of the roof. He snarled mentally as the tile in his left hand slid off. With nothing to grip on, his left hand fell off the roof, leaving him dangling by one hand. Not really an issue, but the tile smashing against the ground created an audible (and highly noticeable) crashing noise. Nick had to act quick to remain invisible. There were beams on the underside of the lipped portion of the roof, though they didn't look quite trustworthy. Nonetheless, the wolf preferred to remain out of sight. He latched on to the beams swiftly, grunting quietly as he did his best to hold himself up. Should Marina look over the side, she wouldn't see nothing. Not even his furry tail. Should the beams break and she still look over the side, she would see Nick tumbling to the earth. He'd survive, but he'd be found...

... And probably be embarrassed. That was when he heard one of the beams begin to crack...

User ImageA loud crash and the irregular vibration of the roof was far from unnoticeable. Marina gradually turned around to, not surprised to see nothing, but on how hard something or someone hit the roof. She looked back at the balcony she had jumped from; no human could have made that. She took a couple steps closer about to check, but something told her not to. She had a feeling that if she did, she would find something most inconvenient and so she turned back around as if about to continue on her way until the sound of violent flapping.

Marina turned to see a bird squawking before flying away. This proved that something or rather someone had attempted a leap, not made it and either fell to an injury or was hiding. She was sure it was the latter. She stalked to the edge of the roof glancing over, but seeing nothing, typical. She looked further, but saw no one writhing in pain on the ground or dead. She leaned back as she folded her arms in irritation until a single cracking sound drifted to her ear. Her crimson eyes lowered to her feet as she narrowed them with much epiphany. Yes, someone indeed had taken to following her. She looked at one tile and used her hand to pull it from the roof, molding it into a spear. She would expose this follower and then... CRACK!

The roof's edge crumbled, giving way to rot and mold as it suddenly disappeared from beneath her feet. She was too surprised to act as she fell with her pursuer, feeling a heavy body crash into her head on. To prevent from falling further, she forced part of the wall to shoot out into a rather large beam in order to catch herself and as she did it knocked the air out of her. A shadow loomed over her as she glanced up to see a falling tanned body, forcing her to put her hands up as air erupted from them, but only enough to keep whoever suspended just above her. She closed her eyes not sure if her ability to harness would hold up so well and when it did, she was surprised; air was her worst skill.

Once Marina looked up, she saw a very familiar face adorned with blue ears. Just as her surprise reached anew, the air vanished, but before he could fall on her, she rolled out of the way.

OOC: Don't be sorry for creativity haha. Hope this is okay.

The weak material of the roof seemed to moan ever so slightly, footsteps above him confirming his worry. Marina was literally just above him. The wolf held his breath, his tail not even moving as he held on tightly to the wooden beams on the underside of the roof. The one his claws were stuck in was already cracking, evident from the first crack just a second ago. And from several other creaks, he could tell that this roof had seen some wear and tear through time. That, or the person responsible for crafting it did a horrible job.

He could hear her moving just slightly above him, slight adrenaline pumping from attempting not to be seen. Yet, she had definitely heard the wolf. She was sticking around much too long above him to simply be bothered by a bird fluttering away. Marina had to had known. His eyes fared to a pair of her fingers grasping and pulling off a tile. Nick had no clue what she was doing, but it didn't even matter in the next couple seconds. The roof gave way and both beams he hung on to broke away as well. Nick was heading towards the ground, but only a second or so after Marina fell past him.

                              's**t, s**t, s**t, s**t!'

He was falling with his back leading the way, only able to turn his head to try and see what Marina was doing. Nick himself tried to turn his body, having partial success for a couple of seconds before he was completely face forward to the ground, which was closing in fast. Unfortunately, nothing was nearby for him to latch on to or wall bounce off of. He could try and get to the side of the building, but by the time he did, he'd probably hit the ground first.

"Omph!" He came to a sudden stop, blinking several times and in midair. Apparently, something was halting his fall, no doubt Marina's abilities with the air. Nick looked at her, then left and right just so that he wasn't imagining anything. Yes, Marina had indeed stopped his fall, watching as she seemed to be focusing on that."Uh-" He couldn't even get the words out of his mouth before he saw her move out of the way from below him. Immediately afterwards, gravity returned and continued to drop him.

But, with that extended beam out, Nick had an opportune moment to properly execute a good landing. A clawed hand latched on to it, using it to swing his body outward. The wolf executed several backward flips before landing on his feet and then executing another sideways forward flip with the extra momentum. It was more to be flamboyant in his landing display, though he did love his acrobatic hijinks. Oh well.

Immediately afterwards, he spun around and pointed a finger at her. He was glaring at her quite angrily. "What the hell's up with just droppin' me like that?! That s**t would've hurt!" Nick barked, cracking his neck. No lie, the face first landing would have definitely hurt. Though, there was no doubt in his mind he could have made it a less painful one at least.

She let out a long sigh as she regarded the skirt of her dress that was torn in more places the ones. She pursed her lips as her hands moved to where it connected, getting a good grip. She had not turned fluster in anger as the wolf barked his head of, demanding to know why she dropped him like that. She narrowed her eyes at him for a second before looking back at her skirt and began ripping it away from her body; it was useless.

"I did not drop you on purpose, Wolf." She said with bitterness. Marina knew her skills as an elemental were unlike most, but even she detested the thought of being in a beginner state and air was that beginner state for her; her worst element. She ripped the skirt away from her body and let it fall the rest of the way. "You're just heavy." This was the best answer she could give since revealing her inadequacies as an elemental was not going to happen.

"On another note." Marina swiveled around to look at Wolf boy completely with a raised eyebrow. "Why were you following me?"

The wolf dusted himself off, feeling many bits of dirt and dust in his hair and shoulders. Thankfully, his several flips did well to throw it off of him mostly. There were a couple of wood chips that were stuck in his fingers that he quickly plucked out. It was an annoying feeling, especially in his claws. It bothered him when anything was on them, really.

Marina voice held plenty of bitterness that it was thick in the air. Nick growled back, baring his fangs slightly to illustrate his growing agitation. "Pfft, whatever. I bet you just suck at your wind manipulation technique." He could tell she had some struggle with it. The look on her face when she initially caught him was one of surprise. So, was she a little better controlling fire over wind? It appeared to be so, based on his initial findings. "You magic users ********' suck." Hints of jealousy laced his voice, but he hid it very well. Marina would probably miss it.

Then came the inevitable. Why was he following her? Simply data gathering. Nick wanted to be informed about the three newcomers. He never trusted anyone new to this city. Hell, he never trusted anyone in the city period. There were even certain gang members he would rather not associate himself with. "None of your damn business." Nick replied rudely, turning his back to her and crossing his arms. "Besides, you just so happened to be goin' the same way I was. I just overshot my jump from the other roof." He lied, though a fairly poor one which didn't explain the reason why he was hiding underneath the lip of the roof.

He wondered if the princess would let him crush a skull, or at least break an arm or two...

Various strands of brown hair had fallen loose and despite her want to let it all down and wrap herself in that familiar earthy tone; it needed to stay out of her face. She got the feeling she could not afford to be blinded in this city. She put it back up and it was as if it had never been let down.

Marina paused for a moment as the wolf attempted to tell her a lie as to why he happened to be here at this precise moment. A wicked smile crept along her face as turned his back to her. "Is that so?" She cooed as her fingers stroked his right ear. "Or did your curiosity get the better of you? Hmm?" Marina gently tugged both of them and with a laugh she made sure to quickly keep out of his hitting range. "You want to know more about me that much, I'll show you." Marina jumped high enough to grab the broken edge of the roof, using a shattered beam to push herself the rest of the way before it too shattered. She looked back at the wolf as he sat, his fury, she was sure, only rising. "If you can keep up." And with that said, Marina turned on her heel and darted in the opposite direction, leaping from the crumbling roof to another as the game began.

Her little snappy remark made him snap back, growling lowly. "Go ******** yourself." He cursed, tightening his fists and turning his back to her. That was when he noticed something off; his glasses! His eyes darted back and forth, thankfully out of her field of vision. Inside himself, Nick panicked slightly. He couldn't lose them. They were important to him. Thankfully, they were just right behind him, having slipped off and miraculously were left intact during the fall and tumble from the damaged roof. Turning around, Nick bent down to pick up his spectacles.

Upon hearing Marina's voice, he could practically envision her smile upon her lips without even looking at her. He stiffened slightly when her fingers gently brushed against the furry surface of his blue ears. The fluffy tail upon his rear end swung left and right once, but it suddenly stopped as if Nick was reprimanding himself. "A-As if!" White fangs bared again as she teased him. It was short lived as he sounded almost perfectly like a wolf, yipping in pain as Marina tugged on his ears, enough to cause some discomfort. "Ow, damn it!" The wolf man swiftly swiped his clawed right hand and sent a roundhouse kick her way, yet to no avail. "I'll ********' kill you!" He threatened, massaging his ears.

By the time he was done threatening her, Marina was already leaping to another roof. "Little b***h..." Nick growled to himself, crouching low. Despite being enraged by her antics, a fire was lit in him. Though, he thought nothing of it. With a loud snarl that echoed in several alleyways and within some distance, Nick called out to the fleeing magic user. "Run, b***h! Run fast before I rip you apart!" One final threat, and the wolf quickly launched off the ground, a fairly large cloud of dust and dirt kicking up around them before he landed on the destroyed roof. A powerful kick off of it destroyed another large section of it, not by his weight but by the immense force from his muscular legs.

'As if I'd be interested in whatever she freakin' what's to talk about. I'm only interested in knowin' all their secrets so I know what to expect.' Nick reminded himself, hot in pursuit as he darted across the roofs on all fours, growling.

                              Out Of Character: Weeeeee!!!

User ImageMarina could hear the ruckus being made behind her, causing her to unleash a devilish laugh as she swiveled around to see the wolf howl out in hot adrenaline. He was massive in comparison and she would be obliterated if ever put in the position of fighting him hand to hand. Every time her foot hit a roof, she could feel him getting closer. In midair, she swiveled to look behind her and saw him on all fours. As she brought her foot down, intending to land on another roof, there was nothing to support it. She glanced down and saw she had overshot.

Being the sultry woman she is, she had grown accustomed to cities, but she was at her best when close to nature, which there seemed very little of. Most Elementals would never dream of stepping foot into an area so absent of nature, but that wasn't how Marina saw things. Her kind if nature consisted of all things seeing as how some elements cannot be made without the other. No, Marina had grown to be quite flexible in her skills.

As she fell back, she quickly flipped over as if she were skydiving, eyeing a row of metal flag poles that protruded from a building. Her hands forced one to curl, ready to catch her. She gripped it and swung to the next before pulling herself up to stand on it. If there was one admiring quality about Elementals, it was there uncanny ability to balance. She looked behind her to see the growling canine in his pursuit of her, but merely smirked.

"Oh, you'll have to do better than that." She called with a wave, ever so wholeheartedly teasing him
