Stelian Preparatory was once a school solely for the true geniuses and innovators of the western world. With no discernment towards the pools of children who applied, Stelian picked generously from a variety of diverse backgrounds. The school was most famous for its Genius Initiative Program, which allowed children without financial means to attend the boarding school for as long as their intellectual prowess allowed them. It became a very popular program that grew in size every school year; and, as the years passed, more and more of the school’s funds were syphoned into the G.I. Program as more and more students came to depend on it. Stelian Preparatory began to encounter significant financial problems because of this famous program. Eventually, they began to reluctantly turn away students solely because of their inability to afford them. The administration board faced a crucial decision: choose between the school’s longstanding academic integrity or maintain the school’s elite status and accreditation.

The administration, of course, chose the latter; and so, the Genius Initiative Program was closed. The school became an average boarding school for the high rollers and money shakers of the western world. In return for these elites’ cold-hard cash, their children—and no one else—gradually filled the halls of this antiquated academia. Nowadays, Stelian Preparatory is a school of titles and reputation, a place where the days of true scholarship have been replaced with reputation-hungry socialites and persuasive hipsters who make their own rules. As the years passed, all that Stelian had once stood for became a mere ancient story. It appeared that this would be the new era of Stelian.

Well, not unless some nostalgic alumni and staff had anything to say about it. They could not stand by, idly watching their beloved school succumb to the minds of the egotistic. They wanted to return Stelian back to the days of true scholarship. For two years, teachers and old alumni rallied their causes until they gathered enough support and government funds that would allow them to bring back the Genius Initiative Program. When it was made official, they celebrated at the chance to continue cultivating the minds that Stelian was known for.

The year following the reactivation of the Genius Initiative Program brought masses of new students, once again, from a variety of diverse backgrounds. These new students came ready to display their intellectual prowess. However, upon their arrival, the new students were faced with an unexpected quandary: the “Original Royalty,” as the returning elite students decided to call themselves, were not pleased with their presence. The arrival of the G.I. kids, what the new students coming through the Genius Initiative Program were called, meant that the Original Royalty would have to work harder. It meant that they would have to share their privileges with these low class students. It meant that they were no longer the big shots of the school. Those of the Original Royalty refused to have their authority tested, but the G.I. kids were not intimidated. They weren’t going to back down from this once in a lifetime opportunity just because some rich kids were uncomfortable with the competition. Even so, the Original Royalty wasn’t ready to share their proclaimed territory either.

A new kind of mind cultivating appears to be in the future for the new era of Stelian Preparatory. This school year begins with you, the students, endeavoring a new scholastic adventure.

                                #DISCOURSE VS COLLOQUIALISM
I will not have any labels or word counts here. You can type as little or as much as
you feel possible. If you want to try different writing styles or experiment with
different formats, that’s cool with me. All I ask is that it’s legible and helps us move
on with the story plot. I do expect quality posts, but what does that even mean? Well
for UNIFORMS, it means that you will write your posts with pride and persona. Make
your posts personal. Truly embrace the character you have created! Don’t hamper
yourself with posting respectability when you could be writing expressive pieces of
                                art! *throws up hope sparkles*

                                #ETIQUETTE VS VULGARITY
Okay, we don’t really have to be stodgy old women who politely gossip and sip tea,
but we should try to be polite about our gossip—or any form of interaction. Each
pixelated avatar has a real person behind it, so let’s try to treat each other with that
in mind. If you have problems with another user, do not drag the confrontation out
into the thread for us to see (or face my repercussions). Handle your disagreements
like civilized people; if you need a mediator please ask me or seek a moderator.

                                #BARBIE DOLLS VS ACTION FIGURES
Okay, so your characters are ultimately all up to you. But don’t go too crazy, okay?
Can I have some original characters, please?! This is the place where you can try
that character idea you’ve had hidden in your closet; or if you want to do something
you’ve never done before. Face claims should be real people models—no anime or
cartoons here. Also, there will be no caps on certain types of characters. If we end
up with nine females and one guy, then oh well; or if we end up with all Koreans and
one black dude, then oh well. Like I said, the characters are ultimately all up to you.
All I ask is that we don’t have any repeat character personas or any overly saturated
                                clichés.

                                #THE GAIA TOS
Obligatory site rule with generic rule link here.

                                #INTERESTED VS WHATEVER
Okay, so don’t sweat, applying here is not some complicated task with smoke,
mirrors, and hoops to jump through. If you are interested in applying, just quote
me in the profile thread with the first half of your profile completed. Please wait
for me to acknowledge and accept your character before completing the blurb
section of the profile. To repeat, quote me in the character thread with the first
half of your profile, and then wait for me to acknowledge and accept your character
before completing the blurb section of the profile. You guys shouldn’t take too long
to complete the profile. However, if I feel like you need a deadline, you will be given one.

                                #STELIAN CAMPUS
✱ The school is located somewhere in the southeast of South Dakota. It’s supposedly
an hour or so drive from the popular city of Sioux Falls.
✱ The schools sits on a grassy field surrounded by a forest.
✱ It’s a rather modest layout for a campus of its prestige. In the 90s, all the buildings
were renovated for modern use with some small changes over the years.
✱ The main building has classrooms, but the administrative offices (4th floor) and
the auditorium (1st floor) are also in there.
✱ There aren’t many sports or social clubs because the school’s main focus has
always been on academics. However, they do have a pretty popular basketball
                                team.
✱ The “classrooms” building on the left is called the North Building, and the building
on the right is called the South Building. Because I say so.
✱ The gym/stadium building houses the basketball court (1st floor) and a fully
equipped gym and fitness area(s) (2nd floor). It is state of the art and is the
                                newest building on campus.
✱ The dorms have their own dining halls located on the first floor. First class chefs
prepare the meals and even offer personal dishes, but they are not available
during school hours. There are snacks available during the school hours though.
✱ The dorms’ top two floors are where the rooms are found. There are common
areas furnished with couches, desks, books on bookcases, fireplaces, televisions
                                and video games.
✱ There are two students to one room. Each room comes with a personal bathroom.
✱ The school’s mascot is a tree. An Evergreen tree with a smiling cartoon face.

                                #STUDENT RULES
✱ For Monday thru Friday, students must wear their uniforms at all times. Only on
the weekends are students allowed to be out of uniform.
✱ Students are allowed to add their own personal flair to the uniforms, just as long
                                as they are “respectable.”
✱ Students can create their own clubs, but it must be approved by the administration
and there has to be a teacher as the sponsor.
✱ Also, only seniors can be presidents of a club.
✱ There is a student government with two representatives from each grade.
✱ During the weekend, the school offers a bus service that takes students to the
city of Sioux Falls for the day. The bus leaves campus at 11 AM, and it leaves the
                                city at 4 PM.
✱ Only juniors and seniors are allowed to have vehicles.
✱ There’s no tolerance for alcohol or drugs on campus.
✱ There’s also no tolerance for lewd and promiscuous activity on campus.

                                #CLASS SCHEDULES
✱ School hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM. There are A days and B days.
✱ A days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. B days are Wednesday and Friday.
✱ Just to clarify, on A days you will only go to your A classes. On B days, you will
only go to your B classes.
✱ Both A/B days follow this same schedule:

                                  WARNING BELL 8:55 AM

✱ These are the schedules for each grade level:

mr. roy holder ┊ the parsimonious principal ┊ #517D9E
Principal Holder is quite similar to Mr. Krabs from Spongebob Squarepants. In fact,
the only difference is that Principal Holder is human and not a crab. But don’t get it
wrong, Principal Holder does care deeply for the school. He’s just more concerned
with keeping the money flowing than how happy the students are.

mr. simon jenkins ┊ the devoted counselor ┊ #9FC818
Mr. Jenkins has always been passionate about education and inspiring the youth. He’s
bounced through many teaching and school administration jobs before he landed this
gig at Stelian. Most students consider Mr. Jenkins to be the “realest” teacher because
he’s willing to get on their level in order to relate with them.

ms. teagan sullivan ┊ the eccentric nurse ┊ #E72960
Nurse Sullivan is very kind, though she’s known for her cryptic hippie speech. She’s
very into alternative medicine and healthy lifestyle practices. She’s also the leading
supporter of all environmental changes and sustainable projects that go on around
campus. Many students like to talk s**t behind her back, but kiss a** when they need
                                an excuse out of gym.

mrs. vivian bryant ┊ the least liked teacher ┊ #F0327E
Even though this is Mrs. Bryant’s second year, she has already been recognized as
one of the least liked teachers in all of Stelian. She’s a notorious hard-a** who expects
everyone to work just as hard as the next kid. Mrs. Bryant has a no-tolerance attitude
with everything, and she definitely doesn’t have favorites. Mrs. Bryant teaches
freshman and senior literature classes as well as some writing electives.

mr. robert heely ┊ the most popular teacher ┊ #EB7A5A
It wasn’t just Mr. Robert’s good looks that gained him popularity with both students
and teachers alike. He’s a charming and kind man, who isn’t afraid to flirt for a little
fun. Though Mr. Robert is well known around campus, he’s still a mystery. He teaches
                                geometry and pre-calculus classes.
