- Stelian Preparatory was once a school solely for the true geniuses and innovators of the western world. With no discernment towards the pools of children who applied, Stelian picked generously from a variety of diverse backgrounds. The school was most famous for its Genius Initiative Program, which allowed children without financial means to attend the boarding school for as long as their intellectual prowess allowed them. It became a very popular program that grew in size every school year; and, as the years passed, more and more of the school’s funds were syphoned into the G.I. Program as more and more students came to depend on it. Stelian Preparatory began to encounter significant financial problems because of this famous program. Eventually, they began to reluctantly turn away students solely because of their inability to afford them. The administration board faced a crucial decision: choose between the school’s longstanding academic integrity or maintain the school’s elite status and accreditation.
The administration, of course, chose the latter; and so, the Genius Initiative Program was closed. The school became an average boarding school for the high rollers and money shakers of the western world. In return for these elites’ cold-hard cash, their children—and no one else—gradually filled the halls of this antiquated academia. Nowadays, Stelian Preparatory is a school of titles and reputation, a place where the days of true scholarship have been replaced with reputation-hungry socialites and persuasive hipsters who make their own rules. As the years passed, all that Stelian had once stood for became a mere ancient story. It appeared that this would be the new era of Stelian.
Well, not unless some nostalgic alumni and staff had anything to say about it. They could not stand by, idly watching their beloved school succumb to the minds of the egotistic. They wanted to return Stelian back to the days of true scholarship. For two years, teachers and old alumni rallied their causes until they gathered enough support and government funds that would allow them to bring back the Genius Initiative Program. When it was made official, they celebrated at the chance to continue cultivating the minds that Stelian was known for.
The year following the reactivation of the Genius Initiative Program brought masses of new students, once again, from a variety of diverse backgrounds. These new students came ready to display their intellectual prowess. However, upon their arrival, the new students were faced with an unexpected quandary: the “Original Royalty,” as the returning elite students decided to call themselves, were not pleased with their presence. The arrival of the G.I. kids, what the new students coming through the Genius Initiative Program were called, meant that the Original Royalty would have to work harder. It meant that they would have to share their privileges with these low class students. It meant that they were no longer the big shots of the school. Those of the Original Royalty refused to have their authority tested, but the G.I. kids were not intimidated. They weren’t going to back down from this once in a lifetime opportunity just because some rich kids were uncomfortable with the competition. Even so, the Original Royalty wasn’t ready to share their proclaimed territory either.
A new kind of mind cultivating appears to be in the future for the new era of Stelian Preparatory. This school year begins with you, the students, endeavoring a new scholastic adventure.
