(Though hopefully those will be skills they are never required to call upon.) There are many rules at the Academy to establish order, but one must be followed above all others. No one is to share their country of origin. Doing so may result in prompt removal from the Academy. This rule is for the students' safety and will be strictly enforced.

PLOT

A time of chaos has just passed through the land of Utopia, making it anything but. Countries battled each other for land, wealth, and power. Now that the terror is coming to an end, the rulers of each country have received the above letter. Each country has borne both a son and daughter, one of which will be expected to rule the country later on in life. Seeing as the countries are now desperate to have their children grow up in an era of peace, they have all agreed to send their children to Utopia Academy.

The students arrive at school with one main rule in mind: no one is to know which country they are from, other than their sibling. But young adult thrive on gossip, so who knows what secrets may leak out? The Academy is just like any school at its core, filled with drama. What will happen between these kings and queens of the future? Only time will tell~

Each kingdom has a minimum of one son and one daughter, both of which are being sent to the Academy. The kingdom may have more potential heirs, but these two are the eldest that will one day take over their kingdoms and are going to the Academy to promote peace between the other nations.

THE RULES

Basics Obviously, Washu_Takahashi controls this roleplay, and what I say goes. I'm not unreasonable, I promise, but if I ask you to do/stop doing something, please respect that so we can all play nicely. Keep it PG-13, and please follow Gaia's Terms Of Service. Please try to post a minimum of once or twice a week, though I'd love it if you could get in a post every other day or even more frequently <3 Romance and fighting are allowed and encouraged in this thread, but on that note, there will be absolutely no cybering. Do a time skip if it comes to that. Cursing is allowed, just don't go overboard with it. No godmoding/perfect characters, you know the drill.

Abusive Toast is my second in command. If he tells you something, it's probably legit. If you have a problem with it, come to me.

Naturana is my secretary. She does a lot of keeping track of things, and does odd jobs for me here and there. If she asks you to do something, it's probably legit. Any issues, again, come to me.

Literacy This roleplay is semi-lit and up. This means absolutely no chatspeak (lol, brb, etc) outside of OOC. This also means you're expected to have a pretty good grasp on the English language. Everyone has typos and grammar mistakes once in a while, but try to proof-read your posts before submitting them. I'm expecting around four decent paragraphs when you post. Everyone has their bad days with writer's block, but try not to make a habit of it. And don't forget to use quotation marks when your character is speaking, and italicize their thoughts.

Profiles & Etc Character Reserves and Profiles are available a bit further down the page. Please don't make any changes to the profiles except where you're supposed to. They look a bit funny in the PMs, but trust me, they look fine when posted in the forums. Please include a roleplay sample with your reserves. When filling out these reserves and profile forms, put a ninja icon at the beginning so I know you read my rules. Everyone is allowed two characters to start. If you think you've proved you can handle more, PM me about it. I really don't mind anyone having multiple characters so long as they can handle them. When sending in your reserves and profiles, put 'I Won't Say I'm in Love' for princesses, 'Born to Rule' for princes, '*smacks with ruler*' for teachers, 'Protect the Heirs!' for dukes/duchesses, and 'Why am I here again?' for others.

Side note: I will not be accepting gay characters in the roleplay. I do not feel it's time period appropriate, and it can cause more trouble than it's worth.

Principal Marianna Dwight's Introduction Speech/School Rules

"Good evening everyone. I hope you all arrived here in safety and comfort. My name is Marianna Dwight, your Principal. You will address me as Principal or Ms Dwight, whichever you are more comfortable with. Let me begin by saying that fighting will not be tolerated at this school outside of specifically designed courses. Vent your frustrations on your studies and sports, not each other. Our goal here is peace throughout the kingdoms. And be warned, those who do not want peace will not find themselves back in the comfort of their own castles, but rather in solitary confinement. We have plenty of private tutors available, so don't think starting a fight is going to get you a free ticket back home, because I can promise you you'll be staying here much longer than your peers if you cause a disruption." she explained, a small smirk making its way onto her lips. That thought had to be running through the minds of at least half the kids here she'd guess, and she probably just smashed their hopes. Oddly, she was quite satisfied with smashing that hope.

"Other than the usual rules for etiquette and behavior, the rules simply include not telling anyone your home kingdom, no fighting, and attending your classes. There is also a ten o'clock curfew unless we tell you otherwise ahead of time. That being said," Marianna glanced to a clock. "It is already eight o'clock. You're free to remain here and socialize and eat, you may wander the building for a while, or you may go to bed if you're feeling tired. I understand some of you had a long journey here. Those found roaming the school after ten will be penalized. Breakfast will be held in this hall tomorrow at nine am sharp, so don't late. I wish you all a good night's sleep, and if anyone has any questions, feel free to consult myself or any of the other staff members."

Rules Created by the Head of Security, Zilin

Rule one. You are to not disturb Ms.Dwight under any condition unless deemed appropriate by a teacher. She is not here to be your friend, nor are we. We are here to guide and teach you. Not to make friends with you. This rule, if defied, will be dealt with by her accordingly.

Rule two. You are to not be armed in this school. By tomorrow all weapons you have will be confiscated and put into the armory. You are students, not warriors. It's our job to protect you and teach you. We've already lost one heir and we will not risk the loss of another by combat. Punishment of this rule will be a day of writing out of the library book chosen for that week as punishment.

Rule three. If another attack is to happen, you are to find the first teacher you come across and they will escort you to safety. You are to not be armed unless under dire circumstance deemed by the teacher escorting you. This punishment, whether intents be valorous or not, will be handled by Ms.Dwight and myself.

Rule four. If students continue to display public use of abilities they will be nulled by Ms.Dwight. You are here to learn, not flaunt off what talents you have and have not learned. This rule is voided if directly instructed by a teacher. Punishment is a day confinement in the cell, continued disregard for this will be dealt with Ms.Dwight herself.

Rule five. You are not to fornicate with each other. This is not a brothel, this a place of education and to better progress yourself with the future ahead. Sex cannot be stopped as it is a primal instinct. It will not be punished by us...But if caught it will be dealt with by your parents. Ms.Dwight holds the final choice as to whether or not inform your parents. I will report every incident that happens to her.

Rule six. You are to not fight amongst each other. This shouldn't be a rule, but some of you don't seem to grasp the concept of peaceful resolutions. Fighting amongst each other that leads to physical violence will result in cleaning the floors and bathrooms on your hands and knees. If you choose to act like animals, we will treat as animals instead of the royalty you're trying to represent.

Rule seven. You are to respect your teachers and staff. They are here to make your life better, not worse. They are here to help you, not insult you. Disrespecting a teacher and or staff member is punishable by what is deemed by the staff or teacher at the time. Extreme punishments will be taken up with Ms.Dwight and I shall deal with the staff and or teacher member accordingly.

Rule eight. If continued display of violations occur after multiple warnings and punishments have been administrated. Punishment will be handed over to Vayle should it come to this.
I pray for you that Ms.Dwight shows compassion in how such an event is handled.

Nearly two weeks have passed since the ball. Everyone is settling back into their daily school lives, and classes resumed immediately that Monday, not allowing them time to sit around idly. The ballroom is in repairs, and in the meantime students have been served breakfast in dinner in their own rooms, and lunch outdoors, as the weather has been pleasant. It is now lunch time on a bright and sunny Friday afternoon. The students had class with Imra in the morning, and will be having class with Ryu Ki after lunch.

P A S T E V E N T S

The roleplay began with the characters simply meeting the day before school began, and the principal gave her introductory speech. The events of this portion of the roleplay can be found here.

the next day, students ate breakfast and began their day with History class. In History, they were sent to the past event of the Echos Hall massacre, where the fire kingdom attacked the wind kingdom. All students had gained control over the element of fire and had the choice whether to save or destroy the town. The opposing sides battled, leaving some students dead in this alternate universe. They returned to the real world and headed to Etiquette.

On the 21st of September, a masquerade ball was held. The students were randomly matched up, and spent the night dancing, eating, and getting to know each other. However, their night was ruined by the appearance of Syn. He sent hell hounds to attack the school, which fought against the heirs. All came out alive, though many were injured. As a result of this attack, each kingdom sent various guards to defend the school and their heirs.

Two weeks after the attack, classes resumed. After a single day of classes, Syn attacked again, this time controlling the minds of the guards sent from the Mars kingdom. The guards attacked the school, aiming to kill everyone. Many students were injured in the battle, but most managed to make it to a panic room in the basement. A few students went to attack Syn head-on, and found themselves extremely outmatched. During the fight, one student, Sen, the Funkazan prince, died.

Three days later, the school is trying to clean up the mess, which includes a completely demolished ballroom and bodies littering the ground outside. Many students were still injured and seeking medical treatment. Many new students arrived, mostly dukes and duchesses to look after their young heirs. The students spent some time getting to know each other and the staff worked at cleaning up. A member from the Council of Gaia arrived at the school, informing the staff that if things didn't change for the better, the school would be shut down. This portion of the roleplay can be found here.

After a week time skip, the students attended Battle Tactics/Weapons, where they were faced with an obstacle course to test their abilities. They also engaged in sparring with staffs. The instructor, Imra, took note of their abilities for future classes. They also attended Etiquette, where Madame Videre tested their posture while standing, walking, and balancing across tightropes. She also made notes of each student's abilities for future classes.

A time skip occurred to the Day of Mourning. A ceremony was held to honor the dead in the cathedral near the woods. After the short ceremony, students were forced to go through a series of trials run by their teachers to test their mind and body. Most came out injured, either mentally, physically, or both. The day came to a close with most of the students feeling a deep loathing for their teachers.

Another short time skip occurred to the following day, during which students rested and tried to come to terms with their experienced from the Day of Mourning. This roleplay continues from this point, after a two week time skip. A ball is being held, and all students are required to attend. The previous roleplay can be found here.

The rapprochement ball, which took place on the 8th of November to celebrate one year of peace between the kingdoms, went off without a hitch...for all of an hour. The punch was spiked, some students drank, and then the punch and other refreshments were spilled, leaving several royals a sticky mess. "But, certainly, the night could not get any worse." is a phrase that should never be uttered in Utopia. The succubus Luxure, who worked directly under Syn, revealed herself to have taken the place of a student she killed. She coaxed the fire duke to return to Syn with her, and he agreed, though not before setting the entire ballroom on fire. All the students escaped with their lives, though several sustained lasting physical and mental ailments. These events can be found here.
