If the speed kills me don’t cry because I’ll be smiling

Another chuckle escapes Corey at Clarks Highlander comment. "Oh of course. Or I'll just be the best Corey." Corey gives Clark a big smile. She was actually having a lot of fun talking to Clark. He had an interesting personality and was enjoying it. Corey looked down at her feet feeling dorky. Normally she was super loud and wild but she had turned into a dork around Clark.

Knowing that there was plenty of drinks here in her room Corey realized that the beers were a small thing to anyone else. She looked back up at Clark when he asked a question. Corey cocked her head thinking about if they were visible. "I think they are hidden in the trunk or under a seat. Knowing my luck they'll search me." Thinking about it Corey remembered they were hidden very well and wouldn't be found. Corey made a false spot within the back of the car and unless they knew about it, no one would find the beers.

Corey looked up at Clark and saw him having a nervous look to him and heard him saying he should refill his drink. Her eyes then got a bit wide realizing she was probably keeping him from someone. "You don't have to stay and talk to me if you don't want to." Corey gave Clark an understanding look. She realized that he probably came here to be with someone else and not her. Watching Clark look at someone she turned her head and saw the pretty purple haired girl. She then heard Clark and it brought her attention back. "Yeah, it is. I traded my F150 for it. It's my eleventh vehicle." Trying to be friendly and do something more than just stand there Corey got an idea. "If you want to you can come check it out. But then again if you don't want to leave the party that's cool." Corey gave Clark a curious look wondering what he'd decide to do.

[ WHERE: Rebecca’s room ] xxx [ WITH: Zelda, Jules, and Cole ] xxx [ OOC: I'm trying to figure out when to get Wally in lol]

Eli chuckled. "Not today Cole. But noted, that doesn't sound like a bad idea actually..." he stood there, thinking for a moment about how good a prank that would be. A bit ******** up, yes, but a fake murder sounded tempting, and a challenge to come up with. Pushing that thought aside, he gave Jules a smile. "Ha, perfect! Then that makes me Patrick. " he said followed by a chuckle, giving Zelda a very a discrete glance. Perks of Being a Wallflower was a book he'd read and of course, seen the movie. While it was a great movie, there was so much more to it for Eli than anyone would be able to understand, aside from Zelda. Yes Patrick was adventurous, a prankster, and the person anyone else would believe Eli would relate to the most. Not Charlie, the boy who was...raped. Eli felt pretty uncomfortable, but as he always did, he kept the mask up" smiling, laughing, and joking around like everything was okay.

As Jules and Cole spoke about the drink, Eli zoned out for a moment. Maybe he was just being paranoid, but of all movies, Jules had to bring that one up. She didn't know, how would she? He could feel his heart racing faster. As more people came in, the more of a trance he felt himself going into. So many people in one dorm room. He was so focused on everyone around him, he was completely zoned out by the conversations going on. He could feel the room getting smaller and smaller, less air, people crowding in closer. His foot was tapping by now. He hadn't heard Jules when she asked, but snapped out of it when Zelda addressed him. "Huh?" He shook his head. "Oh no, its...fine. Thanks." he said, giving her a slight grin. Taking an empty cup, he just took the orange juice from her and poured himself that. Looking back to the group, he tried to play it off. "What? Someone's got to be the responsible one, and I think I'm most capable of taking on that role." he joked, because of course the prankster would be best suited for that.

Rebecca was glad that someone seemed to be on the same page as her. Beckett seemed just as mystified as she was at why Brynn was having a conniption fit over her little sister hanging out with Ashley. She let out a sigh. She was glad the boy was sticking up for him as well, even though she was sure Ash would get all grumpy and insist that he didn't need anyone defending him or his actions to anyone. Regardless, she felt defensive of the boy. They'd been good enough friends for long enough that she could assure anyone that he wasn't really a bad kid, and she thought people should know that about the boy. Though maybe telling everyone Ashley was a big sweetie when it came down to it wouldn't be that great for his "street cred" or whatever. "Tell me about it," she sighed, agree with the athlete. That definitely was unexpected.

She put those thoughts asides, trying not to feel too bad for Arizona. The poor girl was certainly going to get an earful from the cheerleader, Becca was sure. Instead Clunked her glass against Beckett's, responding "Cheers," in turn, and swallowing a large gulp. "Yeah this place sure filled up," she said cheerfully, smiling around the room. Most people she knew, as she liked to make it her business to know as many people as possible, but some we less familiar; definitely friends of friends. Rebecca finished the drink in her hand and got up to get another telling the athlete, "Be right back." She greeted people as she waded through them, glad that it seemed like everyone was having a good time so far.

By time she poured and mixed herself a new cup full of alcohol and made her way back to Beckett, another one of her usual guests was showing up, making her way over to their current pair. "Finally!" Rebecca called over the music, grinning at Navia. She looked curiously at the younger looking girl she had in tow. Navi introduced the girl as Winnie and Rebecca smiled broadly at her. "Hey girl, nice to meet you. Super cute outfit," she said. She always did her best to be nice to people, especially when she had no reason not to be nice. She wanted everyone to feel comfortable and welcome, especially at one of her parties. Becca then laughed. "No I did not hire a bartender!" she told the brunette. "That's just Mac. Big ol' sweetheart," she said with a shrug. "He should be right around your age, Winnie. What are you... Freshman? Sophomore?" She didn't know the underclassmen nearly as well as the older kids. Navia started saying whisper something to the athlete. Becca rolled her eyes, trying not to smile. She had no idea what was being said, but the way she was murmuring it, she was pretty sure it was meant for Beckett's ears only.

”But if you can’t recognize David Bowie, then what is life worth but alcohol?” Cole hadn’t been able to resist interjecting a reference on top of Jules’ between sips. He continued to sit on the table, his head turned directly to the side so as to face Jules exclusively. He shrugged at her dismissal of her motives. ”Ah, you’d manage. Build an AI. Become a foreign dignitary, go to war, conquer the cosmos. Some beings in the outer galaxy might come close.” It hadn’t really occurred to Cole that he should be looking at the other people in their group until he had heard Eli start to speak.

In a display of a limited attention span he would never admit to, Cole hadn’t really heard whatever the first comment was that Eli had made. He had tuned into the conversation-to-be just in time to take note of the comment about parallels between Eli and Patrick. As per the usual, Cole spoke so quickly that it sounded like he couldn’t have possibly put much thought into whatever statement he spewed out next. At this point, it was an off-hand wave towards himself, one which, by extension, involved him waving the entire cup of whatever equally disgusting drink he’d picked up without paying attention.

”As the resident release-ey from the mental institution, clearly, I’m our stand-in for Mary Elizabeth, then. Hand me a topic, get a diatribe. And, Pat. If you’re not the good doctor for Halloween, now, I’ll take it as a personal affront.” A few moments after he had made this statement, Cole’s attention began to wander in roughly the same direction as he thought Jules’ had been, observing the crowd as a whole. He leaned a bit closer towards her, his chin hovering somewhere near her shoulder without realizing as much. His sense of personal space didn’t seem to exist much towards her. In spite of the fact he was closer to Jules, he kept speaking to Eli, interjecting in a conversation that didn’t necessarily concern him. ”Dude, if you’re considering a need for responsibility, get out. It’s too late. We’ve lost you forever. Brain slugs and adulthood and your evil clone named Ile have you, now.”

Having made the points which he probably shouldn’t have mentioned, Cole took another, closer look around the room. He spotted Mac by the door, looking overdressed as ever. He was a decent target for a snide remark, maybe ask him where the bride ran off. He considered leaving the comfort zone of his perch for that reason, but before he could make it that farther, he saw a sight which made his eyebrow raise a little bit. Beside slutty mcslut, there was a girl he kind of recognized in fluorescent shorts. It had to be from class. If it wasn’t class, he would’ve had more to pay attention to than the people around him. That thought, she looked as out of place as he felt like he should have been.

Talking with his friends was great, but that was just it. He was speaking with his friends. The point of this party was supposed to be to be hilariously awkward and be enough of a terror that Jules would never make him experience this torture again, just to spite her. It was with that in mind that Cole decided to hop down from his perch, pat Jules on the shoulder and wave at her back. ”I’m relinquishing you from my presence, fair maiden,’ at which point he looked to Eli ”and entrusting her to you. Escort her well. And preferably not towards Little Pharmaceutical.” He lifted his hand off of Jules, grabbed another drink off of the table and walked away.

Before there was a chance for any of the people to suggest he do anything else at all, Cole headed away from his group. He made a point of not heading in the direction he’d originally intended, at least not directly. Instead, he weaved his way through the crowd to a point where he was at a diagonal in relation to Winnie, about three steps backwards and two to her left. This also placed him about three steps away from Rebecca and Nadia, and just in time to coat tail on Rebecca’s statement with one of his own. ”She’s freshman.”

xxx Since Corey had yet to do anything even remotely hostile toward him, Clark could feel himself start to relax. A little. Almost. Well, he was on his way to being more relaxed, and the combination of alcohol and non-threatening conversation was definitely helping. It was good timing since without both factors, the crowded, noisy room would have him wanting to head out the door and back to his room in solitude as fast as possible. Though that still sounded like an excellent plan. He did have a stack of comic books waiting for him in his room. Clark had made it in to town last weekend, but he had yet to get a chance to read any of the issues he regularly got pulled. It wasn't a huge deal, he just liked to be kept up to date on what Deadpool or the X-Men were up to. Because thinking about them like they were real people and not fictional characters didn't make him seem like a loser or anything, no, not at all. At least, Clark thought, he was having a pretty good night as far as his filter went and he hadn't said any of his extra embarrassing thoughts out loud.

Clark shrugged his shoulders. "I don't think they can legally do that," he stated. "Not without good reason, at least." Even fancy private schools had their limits, and searching someones vehicle was probably over that line. "Unless... you have given them a good reason?" he said, raising an eyebrow. Who knows, it's not like Clark really knew anything about the girl, maybe she was on some weird type of probation or something.

The pianist shook his head when Corey said he didn't have to keep talking to her. He thought it was pretty amusing, since he had been thinking the same thing about her, that she should feel free to ditch him and go talk to someone more interesting. "Not like there's anyone better to talk to," he remarked, saying it before realizing that maybe that didn't come out exactly right, maybe that made it sound like he was settling for conversation with her. Whoops. Well, Clark never claimed to be a smooth master conversationalist. He listened as the girl briefly explained that this car she'd mentioned was just one of many that she had owned. She certainly was a curious girl. "Not exactly sure why you would trade in an f150... But eleven cars? You keep getting in crashes or something?" Mental reminder never to get in a car with her driving. Clark then shrugged; he didn't care to much about the party. He'd already argued with Ashley about if he even had to come to this thing. "It's kinda late... Am I gonna be able to see anything in the dark?" he asked.

That was true, it didn’t compare to what he was used to back home, or what he had experienced with his childhood friend during their club-hopping month before school. It was a bit small for his tastes, but what else was there to do? Hopefully Kellan was right and they would have fun – but then again, when did Antoine not like a mix of ladies and booze?

The girl who threw the party was quite a looker. Actually, many of the girls were. “I will be sure to,” he said back to Rebecca without turning to face her – the blond wasn’t even sure if she had heard. As he arrived back to the pair he had arrived with, the male raised a brow seeing a new addition to the group. He wasn’t quite sure who she was, though the other European girl did some quick introductions. “Enchanté, mademoiselle” the male greeted with a smile before taking a sip of his drink. Blue eyes flashed to the door when he heard it open up, watching the room fill with even more people. This caused him to look for any familiar faces, particularly Beatrice, though she was nowhere to be found.

The blond also realized that he seemed to be one of the few with tattoos, or at least, with a lot of them. It was an odd sight, considering that he started around the age of fifteen, building up to what he had now and he still wasn’t done. Antoine made a mental note to ask Kellan about it when they got back to their dorm – unless, that is, one of them was sleeping at another’s. With one bringing the cup to his lips every few moments, the male turned to his roommate. Leaning down to whisper in his ear, Antoine decided it was best to mention the potential situation now rather than later. “Mon ami, if you want to bring someone to our room, ne t’en fait pas,” he chuckled as he resumed his usual up-right position, “I could always arrange to sleep at a friend’s.” That was one of the bad things about sharing a room – privacy.

“So just give me a warning,” he gave a slight grin. He had decided not to try on anyone tonight – or at least not yet. The Frenchman had yet to get his feelers out, unsure of whom to woo. Even so, he wouldn’t do it in such a dense area like this – no. He liked having multiple women here and there, best not do it in front of other potentials.

If the speed kills me don’t cry because I’ll be smiling

Even though Corey was ‘Miss Wild’, she was insane on the streets, not an extreme party girl. Sure at a car meet Corey fit in and everyone wanted to race her or something of that nature. The rush of going high speeds on a road intended for a less speed, made Corey feel alive. It was simply luck that Corey was pared with Becca to be her roommate. If it was up to Corey she wouldn’t be in her room at the moment, she’d be at a meet breaking in the 240.

Corey realized that the beers were safe. ”I guess you are right. I’ll be safe.” Corey thought back to all of the times she was almost caught by police. They came close a time or two but she had always gotten away safely. The police always came to break up a meet or a race and tried to catch the people behind the wheel. At times they were close and almost caught her, but Corey was safe. At Clark’s comment of giving the school a reason to search her car she gave him a sly smile. ”Well, not that they know of.” Corey chuckled a bit after this comment.

A bit of shock went through Corey at Clark’s comment. She felt like maybe he was settling for her instead of someone else at the party. Corey shrugged it off without worrying about it too much. ”Oh. Well if you see someone better, feel free.” Corey sighed at Clark’s obvious felling about the trade. She then started her story. ”Well I first had a Nissan Sentra and a woman didn’t yield and ran into me. The car couldn’t be saved. I then got a mustang and the clutch started to go out and I didn’t have money to replace it. After that I got a Ram and found a Camaro so I traded and then traded her for a Firebird. After that I got a Chevy for about a week, it was horrible so I got and S10. I then traded that for a Thunderbird but that was worse for the Chevy and I scraped it. I bought a Jeep Cherokee. I sold it to my brother and for a Christmas present my dad gave me his F150. I recently traded it for the 240. A man with a 2000 GMC Jimmy has his eye on the 240 and I’m thinking about trading for it. So no accidents, just lack of time or money, or something I like more.” Corey smiled and chuckled a bit. Her story was still going and it was a mouthful right now. ”Well actually yes. I have the 240 under a lot of lights. It’s almost as bright as day.”

A smile crossed Corey's lips. The story about her cars and trucks made her happy, especially because it wasn't at an end. A small knot in her back started to bother her though. Corey put her arms above her head and stretched. The hem of her shirt lifted up and with the combo of low rise shorts, the tattoo on her right hip became visible. Looking down she noticed it was visible. Corey have Clark a small smile. She pull her shirt down so it was covered and out of sight.

► ▷ xxx Kellan nodded his head slowly, taking in the brunette girl's words as she spoke to him. She explained that her remark hadn't been one to diss the party they were at or imply that this was a pretty lame set up, she was just meaning that having a dorm party like this wasn't what she was used to doing back where she came from. "Gotcha," he said. "So then what are you used to?" he asked, curious as always, his eyebrows creeping up. Katariina didn't seem like a wild and crazy party girl to him, but he'd only known her for a week or so now, and even then he only really knew her through his roommate. Maybe she was hitting the club every weekend, for all he knew. Kat seemed enthusiastic enough now, so when she grinned at him, he did the only polite thing and smiled back at her.

He appreciated that Kat made an attempt at small talk, since he had no idea what to say, and standing there in silence would only make the situation more awkward for the both of them. Lucky for him, she brought up two of his favorite subjects: him and his art. He tried not to beam at her, but a cross between a smirk and a smile spread onto his lips. Kellan tried to sound humble, since he really did appreciate the compliment, and he never tried to sound like a total self-centered jerk. "Thank you," he said, giving his head an acknowledging nod and smiling at her. "I'm glad someone can appreciate what I do," he said with another smirk."But really, thank you," he said again. His artwork was displayed around the school, both because that's what the teacher did for the art classes, and also because his work was particularly exceptional, and the art room itself featured several of his pieces. It made him feel good to know that all his effort to better himself artistically wasn't in vain.

At one point, a younger red head girl came bobbling over to them. Kat exchanged some compliments with her and Hunter, giggled, giving a little spin to show off her dress. "Oh my gosh," she began. "Thanks! Rebecca helped pick me out an outfit, and leave it to her to pick something I hardly ever wear," she said, rolling her eyes. She ended up looking super cute in the end, but she was always nervous throwing on something she didn't wear very often. But having the confirmation she looked good made her feel a lot better about the senior party girl's choice. "Kinda surprised to see you in something so flouncy," Hunter told Kat with a grin. The exchange student was about as girly as she was, yet she had still pulled together a super cute outfit. With their idle girl chat out of the way, Kat moved on to introducing Hunter to her party companions. She was vaguely acquainted with the artists boy, but didn't have much to do with him. "Nice to meet you, Antoine," she said, scoping out the boy she'd never met. H was all sorts of charm wrapped into one blonde package."And Kellan, it's good to formally be introduced," she said, managing a smile.

Kellan said something noncommittal to Hunter, always distinctly getting a feeling she didn't really like him, so not bothering to put much effort into being overly cordial. Which was probably only perpetuating the problem of her not particularly caring for him. His attention was turned back to the other male in his company, leaning down to whisper to him. Sigh... Kellan's eyebrows raised as he glanced at the guy. "I don't think I see that happening," he told his roommate, not seeing the need to go into more detail. "But uh... Yeah... Same goes for you, I guess," the blonde said. "If you wanna have someone over, just let me know." He glanced briefly at the girl they had come with, not really sure what his and Kat's relationship was. Maybe he mentioned it because he was planning on hooking up with the brunette later on.

OOC : I JUST COMBINES HUNTER'S POST IN WITH THIS BECAUSE THERE'S NOT MUCH FOR HER TO DO, hope that's fine. Also sorry, this took a lot longer to get out than i expected.

xxx The pianist was a bit surprised, and for more than one reason. For one, he was impressed the conversation hadn't totally disintegrated or imploded yet. He supposed that partially had to do with the fact he hadn't said anything that was too rude or too weird... Yet. There was always a chance of that happening when talking to Clark, a fact that was often pointed out, especially by his stepmother. The second thing that kind of surprised him was the girl he was talking to herself. Clark didn't really know her, wasn't really sure he had her name right until today, but he was always under the impression that Corey was supposed to be some sort of wild child. Maybe it was just because he could be difficult to talk to, but the girl seemed to be feeling somewhat reserved herself.

Clark's eyebrows raised. Corey was a curious girl. "Not that they know of?" he repeated the girls words back to her curiously, forming them into a question. Sure, it was probably just a joke, but he thought it would be a good conversation prompt. Have her loosen up more if she's willing to admit to a risky situation she was in. Plus, his overall curious nature prompted him to want to know more at all time. Curious, he always stressed. Not nosy or a gossip.

Corey seemed to perk up exponentially whenever her car--or should he say cars, as she'd had enough of them--got brought up. Clark hadn't been expecting it when he brought it up, but the dark haired girl launched into a full scale story about her cars an how she ended up having over ten of them by now, even though she couldn't have had her license for any more than two years at this point. He wasn't sure on the girls exact age, but seventeen or eighteen seemed like a safe bet, he thought. He was just glad she hadn't dwelled on his previous remark, and that it didn't seem to make her feel too bad. "That's quite the vehicular history," he remarked. His wasn't nearly extensive. If he couldn't take his motorcycle to a place, he tended to just borrow Ashley's car or have the boy drop him off. One of the cars his father owned was technically for him, but Clark tried to avoid using it, not liking to accept handouts.

Clark tossed a glance out the window, but they were on the wrong side of the dorms to be able to see the student parking lot. He was considering her offer to go check out the car, curious to see what she had been working on to come back so covered in grease. Clark then clanced around the party. He didn't think he'd be missed if he stepped out for a bit. "Let's go check it out," he said with a shrug.

If the speed kills me don’t cry because I’ll be smiling

The conversation was pretty enjoyable for Corey. Something about Clark was making her dorky but the more she was talking to him the more she started to loosen up. She wasn't as reserved from when she first started talking to the pianist. Corey could even feel herself loosen up down to her stance. She wasn't as tense and was loosening up and feeling comfortable in her skin.

When Clark asked his question about her comment Corey chuckled. She had run in with cops, they just haven't caught her or know it was her they were looking for. "Well, cops don't approve of street racing." Corey had lost all of the reserve from the beginning of the conversation. In other people's eye, they could probably see 'Miss Wild' just below the surface. Another sly smile played at Corey's lips. "But they haven't caught me yet." Corey winks at Clark at this comment. She had been lucky so far but everyone's luck ran out eventually.

The girl's eyes got a little wide when she realized he probably didn't want to here her story. Corey gave him a sorry smile at his comment. "It defiantly is something. I can tell it's not quite finished yet either." Rambling at times was very common for Corey. She wondered if Clark thought she was crazy now. But great way to break the ice, tell a stupid long story and see what happens.

Corey followed Clark's stare out the window. She could see the gears turning in his head. The pianist seemed to be wondering to take her up on her offer to leave the party. It was one of Becca's famous parties, why would he want to leave? Corey was a stranger who was most likely pestering him and taking him from better social opportunities. Then he had said yes and Corey perked up. A cocky, sly smile is at Corey's lips again. "Here, well follow me." Corey grabs Clark's hand and pulls him through the crowd to the door. The girl wasn't afraid to push people out of the way and there was defiantly too many people in their dorm. When getting to the door after dragging Clark to the door she realized she was still holding his hand. "Sorry. Well, let's go." Corey opened the door and led the way to the parking lot.

Well, at least the hysterics or whatever was going on had moved to the other end of the room. Brynn was great and all but… the athlete didn’t know that she cared for her sister this much. Or at all, really. Whatever. But now the room was starting to fill, familiar faces here and there. When the party hostess sauntered over to get herself a drink, some of Beckett’s teammates showed up and a grin was plastered onto his face. There wasn’t much to catch up on except for everyone’s game plans for the night. Each wanted a pretty lady to share their bed and hell, why wouldn’t they want to? Of course, Beckett played along even though sex definitely wasn’t in his area of mastery, or on his ‘things that I’ve done’ list – no one needed to know. Hunter was plenty enough.

The boys had spread out, some even hanging out in the halls (probably to get the first look and call dibs on some of the late-comers to the party). Beckett was about to leave his spot for the night when a certain someone caught his eye. "Hey Navi," the male said with a small smirk, barely even glancing at the freshman she had in tow. When the brunette came back and the girl moved closer to his other side, Beckett’s arm snaked around her waist. The male wasn’t quite sure what she said, his knowledge of the French language being rather limited and close to nothing, but whatever it was sounded hot. Especially with the end of her sentence being comprehendible and leading his mind to only guess what she said previously – hopefully something good. Probably. "Sounds like a plan," he couldn’t help but say, even though it may have been foolish considering his lack of understanding.

The junior was a bit bewildered at what Navia was drinking – it was a party after all. "Really? No alcohol for tonight?" He asked, finishing his drink but making no move to get another one.

xxx If Clark had to pick one word to describe the girl he was talking to, it would probably be peculiar. Or, to make it sound better, interesting, as the previous choice might make it sound a bit rude, which wouldn't be his intention. This belief about Corey was only perpetuated by the next factoid Clark picked up about her. Street racing? The dark haired boy let out a short laugh, until he realized that it didn't seem like a joke. Oh. His face remained neutral. An interesting choice of hobby for an interesting girl. It was just another piece of information to add to his growing list of things he knew about this girl. Clark liked to know things about people. If he could remember details now, it could help him seem less adept at conversation later. It always made people feel good when you could remember things about them later on.

"You don't say," he muttered, shaking his head. Yeah, he could see how that wasn't exactly looked highly upon by law enforcement. Clark offered the girl a smile. "With a list that long already, I'm sure there's plenty more to come," he said, crooked smile on his lips. Clark was a lot more reluctant to give up a vehicle, or at least to give up on one, since he hadn't really owned many. But he would work on a car or bike or whatever forever if he believed he could fix it, even if it had been in a wreck.

Since Clark wasn't the biggest party goer around, it wasn't a huge deal for him to step out for a while. He quickly shot a text to his brother, letting him know he'd be back in a bit -- maybe -- but offering no other details. It didn't really cross his mind that Ash might take that in a far more inappropriate way than anything Clark could ever have intended. He was surprised when Corey grabbed his hand, pulling him through the party and to the door. "Didn't really leave me much choice," he joked dryly. Corey apologized, and he just shrugged at her once again. "Lead the way," he told her.

TTTIt was the weekend and Tiernan had decided to sleep in. His first two weeks at Westwood had kept him extremely busy and he felt like he hadn't even stopped to breathe until now. All his homework was finished the previous night, which had kept him up for a long time. When he'd finally passed out, he stayed that way until well into the afternoon. Tiernan had his dorm room all to himself as his roommate hadn't shown up at Westwood yet, apparently a late transfer or something. Even though not having someone sharing his room made it easier to come and go as he pleased without having to worry about disturbing his roommate, Tiernan felt rather lonely having his dorm room all to himself. The room was rather spacious, since it was such a prominent school, and the empty bed across from his was a daily reminder that someone should be sharing the room with him. Tiernan wasn't naturally the sort of person that did well on his own. He was very needy and as such, he always liked to be around someone else, someone he could cling to. So far he'd really only made one friend, Zelda, who was a complete sweetheart. He'd met her early on his first day at Westwood. The lavender haired girl had looked totally lost and seemed distraught. Having toured the school before applying and thanks to his good memory, he already knew the layout of the campus and was able to help the girl out. He thought that they were drawn to each other because of their hair colors, for some reason. Perhaps it was because they both liked to be a bit different from the norm. Either way, they'd hit it off immediately, her sweet disposition easily drawing him in and her cheery personality holding his interest. He certainly felt lucky to have met her so quickly and to have gotten on with her so well. But honestly Tiernan was good at making friends. It was keeping them that always seemed to end up being a problem.

TTTAs Tiernan rolled over in his bed, he pulled his left arm up to rest over his eyes as the light streaming in through the window disturbed the darkness behind his eyelids. Moaning lazily, he muttered something or the other to himself, whatever it was, it was complete nonsense. Slowly fluttering his eyes open, he looked confused as the words he'd muttered began to form in his mind, revealing that they were incoherent. Shaking his head, he sat up and threw the covers off of himself and slid his legs out of bed. Tiernan decided to take his time getting up and around, taking a shower, getting dressed, the whole everyday routine. The outfit he put together wasn't really up to his normal fashion standard, but he was feeling lazy about it, so he didn't bother to worry about it. He made his way down to the cafeteria, messenger bag slung over his shoulder with his laptop inside, and got himself a late lunch with blackberry tea. Not really seeing anyone he knew around, he sat alone outside to eat, not feeling motivated to contact anyone to come keep him company. Instead he decided to open up his laptop and browse various websites he frequented, mostly vegetarian food blogs, and listened to some music to lose himself in his own little world, ignoring everything else around him. Tiernan sat there for several hours, drinking his tea, completely lost in thought and whatever he was reading. Finally it started to get dark outside and he took notice, packing up his computer, getting a refill on his blackberry tea, then returning to his dorm room.

TTTOpening his door, he stood there for a moment looking at the empty and still perfectly made bed across from his own. There was a small smile on his face that quickly turned into a frown. It was rather ridiculous to think that his roommate would suddenly move in on the weekend while he was hanging out around campus, but he'd been hopeful. Tiernan had actually done this everyday since starting at Westwood, always returning to his dorm room with a smile on his face, expecting to open the door and find a handsome face staring back at him. Yeah, it was stupid to think that it would turn out like that, but somehow he'd still kept that hope in his heart. He was a romantic in more ways than one. Tiernan crashed on his bed, kicking his shoes off and opening his laptop again. Laying on his stomach, he began to browse his favorite blogs again. The hours passed easily and quickly without him really realizing that time was passing at all. Suddenly his mobile phone went off, a nifty tune playing, indicating that he received a text message. Shoving his hand into his bag, he felt around for his phone, taking a few moments to find it. Fingers finally wrapping around his mobile, he pulled it out of his bag, unlocked it with a swift movement of his index finger, and read the text. It was from his friend Zelda, telling him that there was a party and that he should come to it. A smile came across his face as he reread the text, but he hesitated in replying. It would be his first party of the year, a make or break moment in the social world at Westwood. There would likely be alcohol, drugs, and possibly other illegal or at the very least, morally wrong, things going around at the party. Parties like this were how teenagers lost their virginity, either to an attractive stranger or someone they have some chemistry with and spend an hour talking to before deciding to take it to a physical level. Either way, all of Tiernan's red flags were popping up, alerting him that this sort of environment was a danger zone for him. If therapy had taught him anything, it was that the best way to manage his obsessive nature was to prevent himself from getting into situations that he could obsess over. It was easier to just avoid problem areas rather than deal with it after it became a problem for him. But honestly, he really wanted to go, and his only friend was very kindly inviting him to come. How could he say no to her?

                                                                FROM: Tiernan T. T.
                                                                TO: Zelda

                                                                thanks for the heads up!
                                                                be there in five. (:

He hesitated for another moment, his finger hovering over the send button. Tiernan could feel his mind beginning to cycle and quickly hit send before he had a chance to over think it or talk himself out of it. He could feel a slight ache in the pit of his stomach, but it passed quickly and he smiled. His first party at Westwood. This night would be one for the memory books.

TTTShutting his laptop, he slid off of his bed and went to grab his shoes to put them on again. But he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror and stopped dead in his tracks. To say he looked frumpy was an understatement. There was no way he was going to his first party wearing his jeans and an over sized, ugly, sweater. He was already socially awkward as it was and even though he knew that nothing was going to happen, he still wanted to look good enough that it was possible that something could happen. Tiernan quietly scolded himself for leaving his dorm room looking this grungy. This wasn't the suburbs, he was staying in a dormitory and going to a school for the wealthy and privileged teenagers of SoCal. First impressions could make or break a relationship and he needed to start showing off his high fashion side. His adoptive father had often told him to dress for the job he wanted, not for the one he had. If he was going to have his name in lights and on posters someday, he needed to start dressing like a star. Undressing as quickly as he could, Tiernan just threw the clothes on the floor, not really concerned with the mess since he didn't have a roommate to complain to him about his sloppy habits. Opening his closet, Tiernan took his time to pick out an outfit, something that looked hot, at least in his opinion. He decided leather was the best choice, and donned the outfit he decided to call "famous", which was the word boldly displayed on the t-shirt. Looking himself over several times in the mirror to be sure that everything looked good, he ran his fingers through his hair, trying to style it a bit, though it always seemed to do whatever it wanted to anyway. Using a little dash of make-up, he highlighted his cheekbones and eyes, which he considered to be his more attractive features. Throwing on some accessories, he decided to take his messenger bag with him, just in case he ended up alone in a corner and needed something to do.

TTTIt definitely took more than five minutes for Tiernan to put himself together, but when he was finished, he flew out the door and down the hall. Once he was outside, he realized that he didn't know where the party was and took out his mobile to text Zelda about it. But just as he was about to, he noticed some students walking outside too and they were all headed in the same direction. Duh, of course all he had to do was follow the slutty dressed teens and smell of alcohol and drugs. Ahh, drugs. Tiernan cringed slightly as he thought about what he would do if someone offered him some sort of illegal substance. He was naturally predisposed to it because of being born to a drug addict, but somehow he'd managed to stay drug and alcohol free throughout his childhood and early teen years. His addiction had come out in the form of obsessive relationships, rather than alcohol and drug dependence. But in all honesty, relationships were his drug, just as detrimental to his health as a drug or alcohol addition would be. That didn't mean that he couldn't take on another addiction though, especially since his nature already allowed him to be easily drawn into that sort of behavior. It would be so easy, especially now that he didn't have a person that he was obsessively attached to, to attach himself to something else. Tiernan was beginning to feel sick to his stomach just thinking about it, which was difficult to explain to someone who didn't suffer from a mental illness. But just as he was becoming convinced that he would end up a drug addict at this party, he thought of his adoptive parents and how disappointed they would be in him if he were to go down that slippery slope. Taking a deep breath, he reminded himself that he did have two wonderful people that he was attached to and that he had no need to try to fill the void inside himself with something that would hurt them.

TTTPleased with himself, Tiernan entered the dorm room with a sense of self confidence. There seemed to be an open door policy as everyone was just walking in, so he followed a group of three students closely, pretending to just be with them as he made his way into the room. Once inside, he split away from those three and looked around the room, searching for Zelda. The room was pretty packed and the smell of alcohol was slightly overwhelming. Noticing a drunken teen staggering towards him, he quickly moved out of the way of the drink she was spilling everywhere as she stumbled across the room. This wasn't exactly the crowd he knew he should be hanging around, but Zelda was here, right? So it couldn't be that bad. From what he knew of her, she seemed to be rather morally sound and it didn't seem that she would put herself into bad situations. Finally he spotted her lavender hair, but he didn't think she saw him so he slid past various students to get closer to her. As he made his way to her side, he noticed that she had several other students around her. Had Zelda already managed to make a group of friends, while he'd only managed to befriend her? Sure, these students looked familiar, but he didn't know any of them by name and he was certain that they didn't know his name. Still unsure whether she saw him or not, he let his elbow gently touch hers before speaking up. "Finally made it." He said softly, though making sure that he spoke loud enough that she could hear him. "Sorry it took me so long." Even as the words were coming out of his mouth, he realized that they were stupid. Yeah, he'd thought that it was rude to make her wait on him, but now that he was here and saw that she wasn't waiting on him, but rather enjoying herself at the party, it seemed dumb to apologize. But he'd already said it, so there was no taking it back. Giving her an awkward, sideways grin, he was absolutely delighted to see her, but tried to play it cool. That had always been Tiernan's problem, being too extreme. It was better if he just remained chill and kept his emotions and mind in check.

TTTPeeling his eyes off of his friend, he looked at the other people hanging around her, several guys and a girl as far as he could tell. Tiernan considered introducing himself to the group, but they seemed to be making some conversation and he didn't want to interrupt. He'd get a chance to tell them his name, he figured, and the party would likely last awhile so there was no rush. The brunette standing closest to Zelda seemed to be a cheerful young man with a positive attitude, a good match for Zelda's own cheerful personality, he thought. Standing across from them was another brunette male and a female with dark brown, wavy tresses. After taking a good look at each of them, his eyes fell onto the cup in Zelda's hand, obviously containing some alcoholic drink. Suddenly he felt that cringe in his stomach again. But it wasn't just her with a red solo cup, the others in their group each seemed to have their own alcoholic beverage, not noticing that one of them was actually just drinking orange juice. Was he the only teenager that didn't drink alcohol? Tiernan decided at that moment, that it would probably be best if he casually got a drink too, as though he did this all the time, so he didn't look or feel so out of place. Of course, it was silly to think that he would be singled out for not having a drink in hand, but it was just how his strange mind worked. Just as he was about to slip past Zelda to get a drink for himself, the brunette male that had been hanging very closely to the girl with the dark brown hair, suddenly excused himself, apparently not even noticing Tiernan's appearance. Of course that made sense since he seemed to already be distracted when Tiernan had approached and he'd only been standing with them for about a minute. It wasn't like he'd addressed them as a group or stood out in any way. It actually made him feel a bit more at ease that there were less people involved in the conversation. Perhaps his chance at introductions would come sooner than he'd expected.

TTTAs he returned his attention to the table with various bottles of alcohol on it, he noticed another table not far from it, but instead of drinks it was filled with food, mostly junk food as far as he could tell. He wasn't big on junk food, but even he had his vices when it came to unhealthy treats. Quietly, Tiernan moved away from Zelda and the other two, though he didn't go too far, just making his way to the food table to see if there was something to snack on. Noticing, yet another brunette male, hovering around the food table snacking on chips, Tiernan felt compelled to say something to him. "Umm, hi." He started simply, his eyes seeking to meet the others. Then suddenly he felt the words creep up into his throat, then all begin tumbling out at once in an awkward mess. "I'm Tiernan Tenley Tailler, freshman here, just started two weeks ago." Not only was it a tongue twister to say his first, middle, and last name, but it was also strange to introduce himself like that, lumping all three of his names together like one big jumbled first name. As if that wasn't bad enough, then he stated the obvious, that he was new to school and, surprise surprise, started school at the same time as the other freshman. Had he lost every social skill he'd ever learned in his life since moving in with his new family? And to think he'd actually thought he was getting better. This was just awful and he felt bad that he'd just started talking to this stranger without really giving the other a chance to escape before full on attacking him with his personal information. "I... uh.... came to get food." Yes, because that wasn't completely obvious by walking over to the table of food. "Get it together Tier!" He thought, scolding himself internally and taking a deep breath as he did, letting his eyes drift down to the snacks on the table. Well he'd done it, he'd already managed to act like an idiot in front of a stranger. Letting out a small sigh, he glanced over his shoulder to look back at Zelda, mentally begging her for help, before returning his attention to the brown haired male across from him, flashing a half-hearted smile at him.

zeldaZelda missed most of the conversation her friend was having when her back was turned. It wasn’t that she needed to focus on getting her simple drink right (the last thing she wanted to happen at her first high school party was to get shitfaced, so very little alcohol was on the menu tonight), just the sheer loudness of the music drowned out their voices. So it made sense that she only noticed Eli’s discomfort when she turned to ask what he wanted to drink. Zelda passed him the orange juice, watching the boy’s facial features as masked his emotions, not saying anything. Placing the carton back, she went back to being at her best friend’s side and gave his hand a small squeeze. ‘I’m not going to let anything happen to you,’ a silent promise with a reassuring smile.

zeldaFeeling a touch on her elbow, Zelda turned to see a friendly face. “Tier!” She beamed, giving him a one-armed hug as to avoid all chances of spilling her drink on him or herself. “Glad you’re here,” the freshman grinned, feeling more at ease now that two of her friends were present at this uncomfortable party. The girl didn’t mind turning her back from the conversation the other three were having, not really being a part of it, as she said her hello’s to her friend. When that was over, the girl turned back to face the others, scooting over to let Tiernan join their group. “So this is…” the freshman turned to introduce the white-haired boy, but it turned out that he had made his way to the beverage table, “Tiernan.” She said a bit defeated, not even sure if the others would have heard her.

zelda“Uhm, where did Cole go off to?” The girl said softly, noticing that the other male wasn’t there. She peered around the room, spotting the male with other cute girls, all nicely dressed, making her once again self-conscious about her appearance. Maybe she should have tried… But it wasn’t as if she owned anything too girly or flattering for her figure, nor did she really think about those things. Pursing her lips, the girl shook the negative thoughts from her mind, taking a swig from her cup. Perhaps just a bit of liquid confidence wouldn’t hurt.

zeldaHer eyes scanned the room once more as she stood awkwardly – Eli was more of the talker out of the two, especially when she was out of her comfort zone. A tuft of brown hair by the table littered with munchies caught her attention, and it seemed like the actor was there as well. ‘Logan?’ The girl repositioned herself to get a better look at his face, confirming it was indeed Logan that Tier was talking to, and seemingly needing help of sorts. At first she thought about catching his attention with hand gestures, but it was quickly ruled out due to not wanting to look too idiotic. So instead, the freshman took hold of Elijah’s had once more. “We’re just… going to say hi real quick,” Zelda said meekly to Juliette, not even sure if her best friend knew who the senior was. The freshman just had a gut feeling to not leave the boy alone, and she was definitely going to trust it.

zelda“Hello,” the girl greeted with a bright smile once she was close enough to the genius male. She hadn’t expected him to come to one of these things, but then again, she probably wouldn’t have either if it weren’t for Eli and Tier. The senior brunet was her study buddy in a way, even though they weren’t in the same grade. He had helped her out with some of the things she didn’t quite understand from her classes, and even though she didn’t have much to offer due to being grades below him, they seemed to at least enjoy each other’s company – or perhaps that was just from her point of view. Letting go of Eli’s hand, hoping he’d feel more comfortable in this more male-dominated area of the room, the lilac-haired girl placed her cup on the snack table temporarily so she could give Logan a proper hug. Once she let go, Zelda took her drink once more in hand, taking a pretzel and munching on it. “I didn't know you two knew each other, we could've hung out together more often,” a smile tugged at her lips.

MISS SLUT

Navi leaned closer to Becket's body as his arm wrapped around hers. He was agreeing to what she had said, though his tone made it sound like he wasn't so sure what he was saying yes too. She played with his chain. Tonight would be promising. That's when the creepy freshmeat from Beckett's P.E. class came up to finish Becca's sentence, she guessed. She leaned outward just hearing Beckett's comment on what she wasn't drinking yet, to tell Winnie something. The girl was about one person away, and dark haired girl was not going to untangle herself from the athlete just yet. "Looks like you have a stalker Winnie. Be safe doll." She moved back in towards her current infatuation (of three years) and gave a silly pouty face at him. "Guess we will have to change that wont we?" The music changed and she didn't realize that she was moving in time with the beat. She noticed Becca's roomie leave with Ash's brother, she'd say something to Becca after the song was over about what she had heard.

'I can't believe that she's running off with some fresh meats baby daddy,' she thought as she moved against Beckett. She was being careful of his drink hand, she hated having to clean up a spilled drink because of foolishness this early in the night. Her hand that was playing with his chain moved to his shoulder as she danced to the music. Her hips and shoulders moved in synchronization, like every music video extra. "Let me know when you're ready for a refill love." Navia took a drink of her own, some how it surprised her that it didn't have alcohol in it. Yet after that thing that almost happened at her going away party at Lucas' this summer, she wasn't going to trust a cup. Even if she had plenty of people looking out for her, Beckett being the primary as of right now. There were others, like the presently absent Ashley. "I'll be right back." She leaned in and kissed him on his cheek. She moved through the crowd that had gathered. Navi waved to a couple of the cheerleaders who shouted her name, smiling and saying a quick hi to some other people who she couldn't quite place.

She made it to the bar where Mac was. "Hey there any Gentleman Jack back there?" She smiled at the younger boy. "Its a nice turn out don't you think?" She was going to look back at Beckett, when the football player from this afternoon and his girl came up next to her. The sixteen year old brunette could make out the other girl whining about the guy missing the special one month anniversary picnic lunch she had packed that evening. She took another drink of the plain soda, her eyes watching the bartender. "Certaines personnes peuvent être très désagréables. Ils doivent juste profiter de la fête, vivre et surmonter le fait qu'il est un idiot. Ceci est en train de ruiner ma non buzz existant." She wasn't talking to any one in particular, but at the sound of her voice she caught a stare from the happy couple. "What?"

but god knows you're built for sin

Some people can be so rude. They should just enjoy the party, live it up and get over the fact he's an idiot. This is ruining my non existing buzz.
