xxx Summer had lasted for what seemed like forever. In just a little time, Annabelle had traveled all over the country, performing for all sorts of people. To most, her tricks seemed like common practice for magicians. Little did they know though, Annabelle's powers were real. With the summer over now, it was time to return to school. It wasn't just any school though, it was the most amazing school ever! Not only was it for those with gifts like hers, it was on the most beautiful beach ever! You would think that it couldn't get better than that. You would be wrong. Annabelle's closest friends would all be back this year too! (Well...not all of them.)

xxx Running up the steps to the resort, it was quite breezy outside. Annabelle didn't care, she was just excited to be back. First stop, her new dorm room. She had moved upstairs since last year. The school staff had even taken her things up for her. Belle still hadn't gotten the chance to see her new digs. Hopefully with the higher vantage point, the view would be great, especially if it was over the beach! So, Annabelle climbed the stairs and stumbled across her door. She was in such a hurry to see it, she didn't even close the door. Upon entering, of course she discovered it was beautiful. Annabelle was a bit disappointed that she didn't get the view she wanted, her bedroom window facing the opposite direction...Well you can't have everything you ask for. Annabelle sighed. At least it seemed like all of her things had arrived safely.

xxx It was still pretty early in the morning so Annabelle wanted to hurry and get her things put away so that she could greet all her friends. She had kept in touch with them over the summer, even visiting on occasion...but it was hard with all her travels. Even with all the adventure in her life, Annabelle missed her friends. With school back in session though, all of that would change. "Now if only I can get my dorm all set up before the day is over!" She ended up tripping over a suitcase. Even though she was excited...it was probably for the best that she paced herself better. Belle laughed it off and got back to unpacking.

╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
((OOC: first post of mine!))

Walking up the steps, with a light-footed Annabelle running past him, was Akira 'Akee' Umi, typing away on his cell phone. He was putting the last bits on the new website for the school unofficial of course, but if it was as bit as his last one, he would have no trouble with the school year. The new site was entertaining, vast, new and even a bit odd. He added a chat function now so everyone could chatter away and from that he could find even more bits of info to tell the school. Last year he had a habit of putting up small things he saw, people getting close, going to different clubs etc, and somehow ended up as the biggest rumor spreader at Suntide. Now, he wanted to have just as much fun as that was.

He made his way up to the top of the stairs and moved to look out at the ocean. That and the pool were two of the greatest things at the school. He was glad he could reapply as the juice mixer at the pool, it was the closest to the ocean for a part-time at the school. He turned around and continued his little journey up to his dorm, avoiding people as he went. He didn't feel like bunking with another guy, after plenty of issues last year so he opted for a co-ed dorm this time around. His stuff, and hers would be there already so he was only totting his book bag, complete with laptop inside.

It seemed that Annabelle had picked co-ed too, as he saw her enter her own room opposite of his. As he got to his door, he heard something fall over in her room, before he heard her laugh. He sighed, thinking Yep, seems like Annabelle... he opened his door and slipped inside before she could think of leaving and spot him. He just got back, he wasn't feeling up to meeting people if possible. He moved to his side of the room, setting out his laptop and releasing the website for the students to access.

                                    • The walls, ceiling, and carpet all shared a distinct similarity. The fluorescent blue cascaded their individuality beneath its tent. Squirming alongside the leather swivel chair and the person who’d resided between its uncomfortable, skin burning arms surrounded by various piles of papers and books which took refuge in the light only to flee back to darkness and repeat the process. The stuffy, stagnant air housed dust particles and sighs accompanied by consistent tapping against a keyboard connected to the tower of the computer screen perched on top the coffee table. His polychrome eyes reflected the various words and punctuation jetting across the blank document as he recorded the new information he’d received, and a separate journal in case something were to happen to him in the near, or distant future. The past hour or two gave him the opportunity to properly analyze and dissect a majority of the knowledge bestowed upon him; time only provided curiosity, not wisdom.

Before he began his report, he took the opportunity to access the information left by the previous head of a household of “he who shall not be named”… well, the little information that the database was willing to provide and doing so, he realized there was distinct pattern within the recent twenty or thirty years. For the most part, typical banishments from the previous house leader. However there were inconsistencies that he managed to immediately determine without trying, the amount of executee’s always surpassed the number of individuals who resided within the house itself; usually he’d disregard small details but that wasn’t the only suspicious variable. There were a few names without a single indication of their pass, not even a trace of their magic. There were too many inconsistencies to completely write off of suspicion; the more he investigated that house, the more questions that arose. Primarily, why had he, the survivor of V.E.N would personally be asked to attend a meeting at that place to begin with. For now, he’d have to coil his hunger for knowledge. There more important subjects at hand.

After concluding today’s update and encrypting the file he transferred the document into a USB which he then proceeded to stuff into the bag lying adjacent to the computer. He took the moment to relax his aching muscles and toe which he dropped a pile of books on earlier after yelling at some idiot running through the halls. He was tired, but not in a physical sense. He was mentally drained but no matter where or what he did his mind would run marathons as his conscience constantly picked away at his psyche. Who, what, when, where, and why seemed to be the only thoughts that filled is mind. He knew that sooner or later he’d find out. After scanning the letter for the last time he headed out the twenty- four hour library’s metal doors to the local bus stop. He wanted to at least say good-bye to his mother but she was currently working overtime at her second job so that note would have suffice. The poor soul never took a break.

The bus rolled into the station ten minutes late as usual. Its rubber locks disengaged allowing the civilians to file out, only to be refilled by the stampede waiting outside, racing to grab an empty seat. Unfortunately he wasn’t quick enough so he’d be spending the majority of the twelve-hour bus ride standing. Slowly, it pulled out of the station and headed towards its next destination.

                                      Time Skip

Grey to green, buildings to trees, something told Dorothy that he wasn’t in Kansas anymore. To his left a greasy middle-aged man snored, and to his right, his young daughter chewed on a piece of soft candy to past the time. The only sound resonating inside the bus besides the obvious snoring was the buses motor and the occasional squeal of the rubber tires as they pulled into the next stop. The usual monotone voice abruptly broke the ‘silence’ to announce the next stop.

Noah stepped off the bus. The sun’s rays intensified as time grew ever closer to the mid-day point; but that breeze made it hard to adapt to the heat. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to take off his shirt or put on a coat. This however, seemed unnoticed by the bristling students traveling to and from their destinations. Eventually a luscious green orchid fell into view accompanied by crystal clear water flowing from the hand of the angel posing in the center. Roses and lilies were accumulated in great masses, the school definitely took pride in its appearance just as much as its academic prestige.

“…it’s been awhile”. He cooed to himself.

Every inch of the school reminded him of the misadventures he managed to get drug into. The main building, the boardwalk, the dorms, the café and library. Even the air itself brought a sense of nostalgia; unfortunately not all the memories rushing to frontal lobe were pleasant as he recalled that the girl he once loved… wouldn’t be returning in this lifetime. The experience was bittersweet, pedestrians passed him by and eventually he mimicked their actions as he made his way to the dormitory where he’d be residing for the remainder of the year.

Inside was… practically the way he left it. Yet a little more cleaner then he remembered. Nonetheless he still felt the same security as the day he first moved in which wasn’t really reassuring. He didn’t need to unpack much since he didn’t take anything with him when he left. He placed a few mementos on the nightstand and hung a few pictures and various postcards he’d receive from a few friends who were keen on keeping contact throughout the summer. One of which, is the photo booth picture of him and Belle from that night. The kettle that watered the indecisive buds of affection, setting the stage for a beautiful spectacle for all to witness. That night, he fell in love with his best friend, and on that night… he was rejected by the caution tape separating lover and friend. Till this day he could vividly recall the pain he felt that day, his heart practically jumped into his throat just from recalling that moment.

Noah shook off the growing depression and decided that a change of scenery would… probably do better than sitting in his room all day. He didn’t want to go back outside but… there wasn’t many places he could venture to inside the dormitory unless he decided to barge into someone else’s room which, without a doubt, would have him taken out in handcuffs. Instead, he put on his usual sweater and headed outside for a walk to clear his head.

With no real destination, he wondered around the board walk periodically staring down at the glow of the cellphone relaying the time of the day.

OCC: Whelp, there's my first... Sorta paved the way for my new character while creating a situation for him to run into someone else. I was going to make him meet Belle but, there wasn't any reason for him to go to the other floors since he wasn't in the co-ed dorm.

Blessed Tactician

User Image Ah, the salty scent of the ocean a wonderful smell even if the aspect of it was terrifying to the young teen that looked out upon it's rich blue color. Eager to begin her new life at the Sunlit Tides Academy she had arrived the day prior. Though because it wasn't open until the fallowing day she had stayed up all night on the beach watching the tides. It was quite boring and normally would be freezing for a normal person but for her it was quite comfortable. Then again her internal temperature prevented her from ever truly experiencing cold. The perks of being a mythical bird of fire, you never got cold! Even so the night passed slowly as her excitement only grew and grew. Arriving at the crack of dawn she was bouncing with excitement as the doors opened. Everyone thought that no one would be there so early. Rather she was there and ready to get the day started only to find the disappointment there was no classes till tomorrow. Oh, well! The young Phoenix got her room and schedule handing over her letter of acceptance.

Ashley Danielle Heartfelt, Room 1a girls dormitory, that was easy enough right? Wrong, some how, some way she got lost, yes lost. She had a impeccable sense of direction, but somehow she got off track. Then again she found herself going "Ooo whats down this hallway!?" a lot... The curse of a short attention span. Ashley was able to map out the entire base floor of the school, before she found her way to her room. Overjoyed that she could dump her things into the dorm. Picking her side of the room she unloaded her things as quickly as she could stuffing her dresser with her clothes, cramming her suitcase under her bed. She wanted to explore more! Heading out she found her way back to the exit, walking out into the warm morning sun she purred.

She walked along the path heading to the ocean. Looking out on the open space, basking in the warm sun feeling the breeze on her face she couldn't help but think that today was a perfect day for a nice flight. Smiling to herself she began sprinting to the sea. Her body bursting into flames, as the flames shifted in the breeze taking on a new shape. Under the bright red blaze you could see Ashley's body shift and twist as it changed under the burning glow as if she was being burned alive. The flames spread into flaming wings and with a single beat of the mighty wings the flames vanished as what was once Ashley or rather still was took flight. With massive wings it rose into the sky, and any who saw her would see something out of a fantasy novel. A giant bird of rich red and yellow hues, it's body giving off the illusion that it was constantly on fire as it's feathers moved in the wind. Truth be told they were not on fire, at least not at the moment. She could choose any moment to ignite herself into a flaming bird of death.

Yet she had no reason to, she was not angry with anyone and was not hunting or anything. No sense to just fly around on fire all the time now was there? Ashley flew too high for most people to actively make out what she was, she didn't want any normal humans to see her and have a freak out or heart attack. She was used to the high altitudes by now so it didn't bother her. She flew around soaring through the clouds looking down at the glittering sea and the full view of the school from above. This was home now, and a sight she would see for quite some time. She couldn't help but grin on the inside. This beautiful place with lovely weather was her home. She soared through the sky with glee for what seemed like hours basking in the sun and wind. She began to notice that people were beginning to arrive and interest over took her. She liked meeting new and interesting people, and from a school of gifted people there was bound to be many gifted people.

Without hesitation she tucked in her wings and dove down. Like a missile she dropped out of the sky gaining speed, as the ground rapidly approached she spread her wing giving four strong beats kicking up sand like a tornado as she hovered three feet from the ground, breaking her fall. Slowly landing on the sandy ground beneath her talons. She pecked at her feathers cleaning off the sand on them. It would drive her insane otherwise. She would go check out the new people soon but not all sandy like this. There she sat for everyone in the school to see. A large Phoenix, as if out of some story book acting as normal as could be. Yeah nothing out of the ordinary here, it wasn't like a large mythical bird was sitting on the school's beach, no, no, no, that couldn't happen. Well surprise it was! A legendary beast of mythology was just sitting on the beach picking at her feathers cleaning herself like it was nothing.

If this was any sign about the school it would be interesting and that was what Ashley herself thought watching people move along to the school from a distance.

((OOC: If you want anna to walk out and see him spunky, your choice.))

Finally, the website was up and open for people to look at. From the latest school news, to whatever he heard at the juicebar and in the classrooms, the website would be the place for people to check. He came in late last year, though his website became a hit for rumors and stories about the students, so this one should be just as useful. He closed his computer just as the first comment had arrived and moved to look out the window. It seemed that his dorm had the side with the better view, looking out over the ocean, and the beach. Perfect place to watch anyone getting closer on the beach and spread it. It's not like that he liked spreading rumors that were bad, but letting people know, especially when couples looked to be forming, turned out well last year, as a few people who wouldn't usually get together did. Thinking of couples that didn't get together, he picked up his cell and opened the screen by flipping the side over.

He pulled up his 'contacts', and picked out Noah. While he came in late last year, him and Noah somehow became friends, and he tried to help get them official, but they didn't have enough time. He was hoping Noah was finally able to do it, though he wasn't sure. He typed away quickly at the message he was going to send; "Noah, new school year starts now. Any progress with Annabelle?" He waited for the little bird animation to reach the inbox and drop the letter before closing the phone shut and standing up. Now, he might as well go check out his class rooms, so he opened the door and stepped into the hall.

xxx Annabelle was really focused on getting her roomed cleaned up. She even slipped and started using her powers. When Belle was younger, she used them all the time. Why use your hands to pick up something when you can just make it float? Well of course this wasn't really good for her. Annabelle didn't grow up very strong so her circus family decided to encourage her to only really use them for performances or if she really needed to. Their idea worked, allowing Belle to grow up almost normal. Almost because she's still a lot less stronger than most people. At least she can carry those heavy treys at work.

xxx So without realizing it, Annabelle was done. Her powers were a major time savor. All she had to do was think and it was there! "Wait...oh..." It took a moment for even Belle to realize what she had done. She was blushing with embarrassment, despite no one being there. Just then though, something else caught her attention. Belle looked over to the dorm across the hall. It looked as though it had just shut. Odd... Who wouldn't want to meet their neighbors? Annabelle got up from her spot on the floor, having never actually moved from where she tripped. Normally she would force herself on the mysterious neighbor...but...she was trying to work on that. "Right, only approach those you can visually see. Wouldn't want the tiger incident to happen all over again." She said to herself, biting her lip. The temptation was too strong. Annabelle had to leave before she exploded from not being friendly.

xxx Not wanting to knock the stranger's door down in her attempt to be awesome, Annabelle instead grabbed her purse and decided to go meet up with some more willing people. Like many other students, she pulled out a cell phone and started to text while walking down the hallway. Just as Annabelle was walking away that stranger walked out. She was looking down at her own phone, not noticing while she walked the opposite direction as him.

xxx "Andd....send-AH!" She was stepped over the edge of the stair case. Annabelle stared straight down as she was leaned over, about to fall. That's what she gets for not paying attention. Luckily, just as Annabelle tumbled down, she ditched her no-power philosophy once again and levitated herself..just enough to not hit the ground anyway. After, she teleported to the bottom. With a sigh, Annabelle straightened out her skirt and stared up. "That would have been pretty bad..." She admitted. Here was a girl who walked on tight-ropes and juggled fire for a living...and even she fell victim to the fatality that was the cell phone. What has society come to?

xxxBack on her feet, Annabelle cautiously continued forward. She decided to stop by the cafe. It was open but only the regular school staff were serving. They weren't as good as the students that worked her...she would know, she works there. Annabelle just needed to pick up her uniform. UNLIKE last year, she did not try it on here. That resulted in a nasty spill in the pool. At least Belle was learning. Instead she thanked them, got a fruit juice cocktail, and happily left after her business with them was over. After, she happily strolled away, sipping on her drink.

                                    • In comparison to last year the boardwalk, rather, Sunlit tides as a whole was steadily growing as a whole. There were quite a few vacant shops before summer break which practically made the area a breeding ground for entrepreneurs. Despite the obvious changes the boardwalk was still remained almost completely the same; in a way, the familiarity was more welcoming than discouraging. But in the same breath one could say it was time for a change. Nonetheless just being able to walk along the sturdy planks again was a blessing, which he relished every moment of.

The orange glow from his phone shown through his eyes reflecting the digital numbers covering the screen. It’s early, though the time didn’t exactly matter since he didn’t have any plans in particular he still checked his phone periodically. He considered doing a bit of window shopping in one of the new stores along the boardwalk but decided against it. He scrolled through his messages and tapped the screen to enlarge the unfamiliar number attached to the message with three words ‘Time is up’. Just then the phone resonated in the palm of his hand. It slipped through his fingers and although he scrambled to catch it before hitting the ground, he didn’t manage to save it. It fell face first onto the boardwalk, Noah swore in a foreign language before retrieving and examining the phone with a shattered screen. With a sigh he disregarded his frustration and scrolled through the new messages. The first of which, was from his more recent friend he met last year around the half-way mark in the school year. Akira. He recalled the day they ran from the police after sneaking into one of the estates to retrieve an item but that’s a story for another time.

He wish to inquire information, more specifically; whether or not he managed to get any closer to Annabelle. The boy was pretty perceptive, he practically picked up his feelings for Belle within a day. No matter how many times he told Aki though, he was definitely determined to make him and Belle a thing. Noah sighed and pulled up the keyboard before typing out the message.

                                      To: Aki
                                      From: Noah

I told you before didn’t I? She wants to be friends, a** friend is probably as closet as I’ll get to her; and it’s the first dirt it’s not like something will happen that quire, I haven even seen her yet. Anyways, I’m thinking about checking out sore of the new shoes here should you come?

The keyboard was a bit unresponsive and added words he didn’t initially type, he pressed send anyways mostly because he went into autopilot. He wasn’t exactly paying attention to what he sent at the moment. The second message was from Annabelle, his best friend and the girl he loved, messages from her wasn’t uncommon. Though a little random. Noah, unaware of his surroundings read the message aloud.

“I just got in! are you here yet? I so miss you. I know I just saw you a few weeks ago at- My family's party in ****, but it seems like forever. Let me know when you want to meet up.”

A child passing by repeated the foul word which pretty much got him a swift smack on the lips, the mother glared as Noah pretended he didn’t see anything. He instinctively tapped away at the unresponsive keyboard without considering what was actually being typed.

                                      To: Annabelle
                                      From: Noah

Yikes I’m here. I massage you too, let’s nothing talk abound that parasite. B**** scorn. Anyways, I was gonna lurk a shell if you what. I’m at the aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Noah’s hand pressed against the ‘A’ button before slipping to send as the phone slipped from his grasp once again. I the distance, a large bird with deadly talons made ascended into the endless sky. The sun reflected off its large wings as its fiery red and sunlight gold feather fell with every flap only to burn to cinders in a blaze of glory. Eventually, the bird was out of view leaving the dumbfounded Noah to bask in question whether or not what he just saw was fact or fiction. He considered writing the whole thing off as hallucination when the bird made its descent to the sandy beach. Thankfully, the majority of the pedestrians had entered shops and the others were too far away to really witness what he saw.

He wasn’t curious, but he wanted to at least get a closer look at the thing, to reinforce his belief of sanity. Then again, when playing with magic you see things you’d never thought existed. Noah crept towards the edge of the boardwalk cautiously. Watching as the bird pecked away the access sand lingering in its wings.

There is only one success - to be able to spend your life in your own way.

I am here: dorm building hallways
I am with: some guy who i will probably be too traumatized to ever want to see again after this
I feel: awkward, nervous, embarrassed, and a little scared

Ivory had spent the summer at home, which she'd sort of had mixed feelings about. She liked being back surrounded by nature and all, and she'd missed her parents and older siblings. That was kind of about it though. She had kind of missed having electricity. Sure, technology still intimidated her, but being able to charge her very simple phone without a hand powered generator had been nice. At least it didn't use battery nearly as fast as those scary smart phones. Ivory didn't think she'd ever learn how to operate one of those. Speaking of that, it just made a little ding, indicating that she had received a text. She stopped on the sidewalk and took out her phone, not wanting to walk around while reading and responding. It was a message from Belle, saying she was glad that she was coming back, and that she wanted to spend some time together in town this weekend. Ivory smiled as she responded,
To: Belle
From: Ivy

Thanks! I'm glad to be back.
I'd love to go with you. It'll be fun to catch up and do stuff biggrin

Aaaand sent. Ivory was somewhat proud of being able to use the little text faces. It was like learning a new language. Well, a really simple one that was more like an extension to the one she already spoke. But yeah. Colon D meant big smile.

As Ivory reached the school, she stared at the door and remembered one extra thing she'd liked about her home. Doors that she did not have to duck to get through. Her antlers put her at 6'8, where she'd only be 5'3 without them. She usually had to turn her head sideways and bend down a little to make it through doorways without banging her antlers on the wall as she entered.

Well, Ivory made it through the main entrance door, and through a few others as she made her way through the school, carrying her bags to her dorm. In the halls, she spotted some boy stepping out of his room. Not in the mood to socialize, Ivory averted her gaze and continued walking. One of the mice that hid out in her robes though, apparently was in the mood to socialize, as it scampered out of her robes, and down onto the floor. Ivory usually didn't mind her little pets coming and going, so this wasn't a big deal. What was a big deal, was that it hadn't planned it's departure from the Ivory train very carefully, and was about to get stepped on. Ivory, before stepping on her little mouse buddy, managed to change her foot's destination. A little too much, actually. Now would be a good time to mention that her balance wasn't that great with her antlers. Ivory ended up stumbling towards that boy, and falling right into the wall next to him, her antlers impaling the drywall and getting stuck there. Throughout the fall, she made a "Uwaaaahhh!" sound, which ended with an "Uh!" as her motion was abruptly stopped at her collision with the wall.

Well, on the bright side, at least she hadn't impaled the boy. She tried backing up to free herself, but she couldn't get her antlers out. Her arms didn't reach the ends of her antlers, so she couldn't even try pushing. She was stuck. And in a pretty awkward position too. She had fallen a little, so she was bent over, with her butt sticking out. She couldn't even turn her head. Well, not that she wanted to face the guy and show him her bright red face as she asked for help. With a good bit of stuttering, Ivory managed to ask, "Um. Uhhhh. C-c-could er. You uh, p-please hal-help m-me?"

A return text came just as he left, so he read through it, even with the jumbled text he was able to make out what he was saying, except the last part. He quickly typed out a reply to him. "No it's not, you'll get closer. I'll put up the first rumor of your crush if I have to. She's at her dorm, go see her before she gets to me, I don't need any shoes." Although he said it, he had already put up the rumor in preparation for this, all he needed was to press a 'send' and it was out. He pulled up his website on his phone and hovered over the 'send', wondering if he should do it. With another thought, that Noah wouldn't go anywhere without it, he hit the button, and watched as the first rumor popped up on the site. Some people could say it's true or false, but it was what he found out that would decide its fate. He was about to close the phone when he heard something like a small, quiet siren next to him in the hall.

Next thing he knew, the wall next to him was impaled by a set of reindeer antlers. His eyes wandered from the screen, over to the antlers, following them down until they met a head. Not a deer's, but a girl's. To make the situation even odder, she was wearing robes like some of the japanese spirits are presented as. She stuttered out a request for help. He leaned down until he could see her face, which was bright red, just to make sure it wasn't some weird trick to be played on him. "Uh. Sure. Don't yell at me afterwards." he said without much expression. He put away his phone, and moved next to the antlers in the wall. He tugged lightly, pulling on each part stuck in the wall as to not break them, or bush one side deeper into the wall, and through into his room. Once they were out he stood a bit back, wary of the antlers that had plunged into the wall. Then he checked the damages out. "There goes my silent day. Might take a while to repair this." he said with a sigh.

User Image Ashley had grown quite comfortable in the sun rays, it's warm rays coating her feathers. It was a troubling task getting those hard to reach spots to clean out the sand. That was mostly why she hated sand for the most part. It had a knack for just getting everywhere. Ashley was mostly focused on cleaning herself. The last time she reverted while covered in sand her body was covered in glass spots it was kind of annoying, not to mention it was quite messy, thin pieces of glass all over. Though she was focused on grooming herself she was aware of her surroundings. She noticed that someone had approached eying her curiously.. She was used to it by now, after all she was a phoenix not like she was normal. She had already come to that acceptance that she was unique after all she hadn't met anymore of her kind.

Raising her head she looked to the young man. "You don't need to stay away, it's not like I am going to peck your eyes out or light you on fire! Well intentionally at least~!" Ashley laughed in her avian form. It was a strange laugh that sounded more like a birds song. Ashley tucked in her wings taking steps towards the young man. Her body igniting turning to a blazing ball of fire. Without losing momentum, Ashley's body reshaped once more to that of her human form. The young female shook off the flames putting her out. Her clothes seemingly unharmed, the transformation preserved her human form in the exact way she was before Though a little warmer then before. Shaking her head some small glass fragments fell out of her hair scattering to the floor. They were too tiny to cause anyone any damage but there they were.

"Phew.... You would think being a flaming bird you could just burn off anything on you to clean yourself, but you would be wrong. I swear my feathers take so much upkeep it isn't funny! Sand is the worst enemy of all. All I end up doing is making glass out of it!" Ashley laughed being oddly honest about what she was. She didn't seem to be afraid or worried about him revealing it to other people. He looked like he went to the same school as her after all he was near her age it seemed. Grinning she got up close, very close, which made it seem like the concept of personal sense was not something she understood. "You go to Sunlit tides academy too right? I mean you don't look much older then me and your not afraid of me, so that means you're used to odd things like me right!? Oooo are you human? Ooo no wait alien!? ooo maybe Elemental!? Elf? No your ears aren't pointy... Oh! Do you how powers? Flight? Can you jump over a tall building in one bound? Run fast as a bullet?" Ashley was excited, overly excited. She was also extremely loud seeming uncaring that she was yelling by this point in the one sided conversation. She somewhat resembled a puppy that was over excited that there owner came home early. She couldn't help it she was up all night hyping herself up to meet people like her, well not phoenix's like her but oddity's people with unique powers and ability's. She was going to try to make friends with them all! That and maybe build a robot to rule the school, that was also on her to-do-list but it was closer to the bottom.

          ≯"Why can't we sleep ƑƠƦЄƔЄƦ?"≮

I am here: My dorm room
With: My pictus catfish (no one)

Angelo sat in the passenger seat of one of his mother's friend's car, steadying a small rose bush at his feet and holding a petstore bag with a small fish inside. The friend, an elf named Orin, had bought the fish for them on their way back to the school from the airport. He had wanted to make a quick stop at the store, and Angelo of course had to go inside with him. He'd wandered towards the fish section and immediately fell in love with the pictus catfish. It was so adorable to him, and Orin decided to buy Angelo the fish along with all the needed supplies. Angelo was feeling quite happy for once, staring happily at the little fish in its bag. He figured he was acting childish, but it was only Orin there to see him, so it didn't really matter that much.

Once they got to the actual school, however, he put on a poker face. He gently laid the fish bag down on the passenger seat as he got out of the car, picked up his rosebush, and placed the fish bag carefully down inside the pot. Orin went towards the back and grabbed the small supplies like fish food and put them inside the pot as well, and put Angelo's duffle bag of clothes over his shoulder, before grabbing the actual tank. The two spent a short amount of time in the front office making sure having the fish was okay, and where his new dorm room was.
"They moved me into the coed dorm this year. I wonder if I'll get a cute girl as my roommate." He said to Orin. The elf said nothing, but gave Angelo a small smirk that he returned with a cheeky grin.

Angelo managed to open the door to his room without dropping everything in his arms, and carefully set the rose bush on the ground. As it was tied to his life force, he really didn't want to hurt it. He then helped set up the tank and fill it with water from the bathroom in his dorm. He carefully, ever so carefully, lowered the fish's bag into the water, making sure not to open it yet. Orin said that the fish needed to get used to the temperature of the water in the tank first, because it was different from the temperature in the bag. Although Angelo loved fish, he'd never had one of his own before, so he took Orin's word on it. The man knew a lot about animals though, so Angelo had no doubt in his mind that he was right.

"Alright kid, this is where I leave you. Have fun at school this year. Text or call if you need anything, like more fish food." The elf said with a huge smile, slapping Angelo on the shoulder.
"Thanks man, will do. Have fun doing whatever it is you do when you're not baby sitting me." Angelo said with a smile back. The elf saw himself out, and Angelo flung himself onto the bed he now claimed as his. He rather liked Orin, but he had a suspicion his mom asked Orin specifically to watch over Angelo so that he'd have some kind of positive male figure in his life. Because his actual father was anything but positive. Which was alright, he guessed. The elf put up with his idiocy and had deep pockets and was willing to buy him pretty much anything, like a singular fish to go into a huge aquarium. He was going to have to find a way to pay Orin back for all his kindness. And get more fish.

Angelo sat up from his bed and began to wander the room. He was pleased to see that the belongings he'd had in his other room had been moved to this one as well. He unpacked the duffle bag and began to unpack all his clothes and put them into his dresser. Once he was satisfied that everything was put away neatly and perfectly, he laid down on his bed and pulled out a book, waiting for his new roommate to arrive so he could introduce himself.

xxx Next stop, the office~ Yes, students weren't technically supposed to work on the first day, but Annabelle was always lending a hand anyway. She was just so grateful for the headmaster cutting her living expenses. Belle tried to make it up to her in anyway she could. So when she arrived and was asked if she'd help greet all the newcomers, of course Annabelle was up for it! Not only did she get to help out, but she got to do something she enjoyed anyway! It was still morning so most students hadn't arrived yet. Sad because the welcoming committee was giving out all sorts of goodies at the front entryway. That's what you get for arriving too early! Anyway, Annabelle was given a big box and told to take it to the entry. It was incredibly heavy! She was really starting to think that using her powers was going to become a necessity here. So instead of dragging it around, Belle cheated once again by using her powers to levitate it along side her as she walked.

xxx When Annabelle got to the entry, a bunch of members of the staff were setting up tables. It was a bit hard though because so many students kept walking into their work area. One guy in particular with purple hair walked right over a sign someone was going to put up. Annabelle had half a mind to go chase him down for a scolding but...she let him off the hook. Not getting to partake in awesome goodies would be punishment enough. Speaking of wh- "Hey can you...I don't know, give me a hand?" Annabelle had apparently just been standing and staring the whole time. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" She quickly rushed to the staff member's aid, helping them with a table that had collapsed in. "What's up with all his anyway? I thought the school couldn't afford to do anything like this." Annabelle said, huffing as she latched the table back into place. "The resort was such a success last year that a ton of new students enrolled. We increased our general capacity from 5% to 60%!" "Wow...that's a lot of new students." "Yeah, right? Anyway with all the new enrollments, we've taken in a lot of extra cash and Sunlit Shores's mayor even started giving us funding." "I thought all schools got that..." "No, we're a private one." "Ohhh....I see. So we're getting uniforms now?" Annabelle said with a groan. She hated new costumes...especially since she had sooo many already. They were hard to keep track off. "Nope. Lady Sachiko has invested it towards more computer equipment, upkeep...and of course, giving back to you guys." They replied, pointing back to the boxes. "Huh...alright." This was sounding great. Maybe her friends would want in. They probably both missed it since they got in early. So Annabelle set in one of the folding chairs and checked her new messages.

As usual...Ivy's were short and sweet. That was just like her. Meanwhile...Noah's...was just plain hilarious. Annabelle knew from experience that his phone acted up on occasion but this was a new low for it. As usual though, instead of just replying like it didn't bother her...she had to tease him a little. The set up was just too good! How couldn't she?

                                              That's great!
You should stop by up front when you get the chance~
Mizuni is giving away all sorts of gifts to welcome students.
The boxes are super heavy so they must be good!

Anyway, they have prizes up front.
You should check it out, I already texted Ivy about it.
It's cool if you miss though, I'll save you something.

                                              Sreal

xxxHmm...that's right, Annabelle did have a pretty good position. She was helping out with everything so she could see what kinds of things kids could get. "Hey...do you mind if I take something for myself?" "Go for it...at least you're helping and not ignoring everything." "Yes!" Score! Annabelle happily started to ruffle through the boxes. The one she had brought...was full of planners. Made sense. She would have put it off to the side but-"At least put everything away while you go through it!" "Oh yeah! Sorry!" Annabelle took the time to stack the planners neatly on the table. There were soooo many...after, she didn't even want to look at another box. She must though! It was her duty to her friends! So Annabelle opened a second and...woof. "W-what...are these for?!" "A little raffle. Each are assigned to a number in the ball spinner. Kids can win anything from a one free meal ticket up to...well you know. You can see." "Can I have one?!" "Sure, but don't stop working. Make sure those are under the tables so no one else can see." "Got it!" There were sooo many nice things. Annabelle was practically drooling. It wouldn't be right to take more than one though...and she did already say that she'd save something for Noah. Hopefully he liked what she picked...

xxxAnnabelle removed her selection from the prize pool and put it in her backpack. She kept that hung over her chair and continued to sort through everything and organize it all under the table. "This is going to be fun~" Belle sang. The helper didn't think so. "Yeah...maybe. Not many of these snots are even caring. Not one kid has even asked what we're doing. Ungrateful..." That got the gears turning. Maybe Annabelle should think of a way to attract more people.

It had been a rather long trip from her home in Dublin, Ireland but Alexandria had finally been dropped off out front of the resort. It loomed ahead of her like some scary looking spectre. This place had been abandoned before it had been turned into a school and that fact made the pink haired female wonder if there had been a reason it had been abandoned. Did they run out of money? Or did something else happen? It didn't help that the tropics were always hit by all kinds of crazy weather so maybe weather had played a part. It was a mystery and one that she was sure she'd unravel the more time she spent here.

Alexandria was an interesting looking girl. Dressed in a faded pair of blue jeans, a rather baggy white t-shirt and a pair of black flats which made hardly a whisper on the sidewalk as she walked towards the school. Most of her appearance was what you'd describe as 'lazy'. Her hair looked like it had been half-brush and fell about her messily, trailing halfway down her back. Her face was clear of any makeup but she was surprisingly pale, which made her unique eyes stand out. One was a bright green while the other was yellow. She was a small girl standing at 5' 3" and weighing in at 133 lbs. Though don't let her appearance decieve you. She is athletically built and surprisingly agile.

Moving towards the school she'd reach up with a slender hand to brush a few strands of hair out of her face while adjusting the pencil tucked behind her ear. She almost always had it and the strange leather-bound book underneath her arm. It was as much a part of her as anything else and she had it pretty much all the time. Despite coming from a wealthy family Alexandria didn't have much, her dufflebag was small and light and contained just a few outfits along with a few select items from home.

She hummed as she walked. She was excited to attend this school. She'd get a chance to work as a stylist, her sister had taught her everything she knew and she was pretty good at it. There was a gym and all sorts of things that would aid her in reaching her dreams. Plus she didn't have to hide her abilities, that was a bonus. It wasn't long before she was at the front doors and pulling them open. She already had her key and room number so it was just a matter of locating the dorms which witht he map she had was fairly easy. She reached into her back pocket and tugged it out, standing in the entryway and peeking over it.

"Not too far off..." She said in a soft melodic voice which was full of her distinct irish accent. She folded up the paper and tucked it back into her pocket before hurrying off down the halls. She was anxious to drop off her bags and then go exploring. She'd been told she might have a roomie but she was relieved that when she arrived in her room that there was nobody else there. It was untouched by the looks of it. She smiled brightly and tossed her bag, map and schedule onto the bed before turning and hurrying out.

She wasn't sure where she wanted to explore first. Her body of course decided for her. Her stomach growled audibly and she blushed a little bit, "Food it is." She had a fair bit of money in her bank so she wasn't worried. She turned and headed down the halls and to the main foyer where she would have to ask where the cafe was since she'd left her map back in the dorm.

There is only one success - to be able to spend your life in your own way.

I am here: In the hallways of the dorm building
I am with: Some boy who I hope isn't mad at me
I feel: nervous and worried

Ivory let out a small "Eeep!", when the boy bent down to look at her face. She hadn't expected that. He hadn't even said anything yet? What if he did something to her while she was stuck? But luckily, that didn't happen. Soon, Ivory could feel him trying to pull her antlers out of the wall. She resumed her efforts to back away from the wall to assist him, and soon she was out. She stumbled back, but was careful not to raise her head up too quickly and risk whacking him. She ended up falling on her butt on the ground, but was unharmed. Ivory managed to get to a standing position while keeping her head vertical, something she seemed to have a lot of experience at. Her face was still pretty red, but she decided not to hide her face from her savior. She probably would have been there for awhile if he hadn't been there to help her out. "Umm, th-thank you. You, well, sss-saved me. I-I mean uh, from the w-wall." At that point Ivory decided that he probably was aware of the event that she was referring to.

And the first he did seemed to be a complaint? Oh no! How did Ivory fix this? Worry showed clear on her face from the moment he mentioned his silent day being gone. "Oh! I- uh . . . I'm sorry! I-I didn't know . . . um, it w-would be a um, a-an issue." She paused for a moment, looking at him. Could she make this better somehow? She decided to ask, "I-I could um, like . . . well. Is th-there anyth-thing I could do to um, t-to repay you?" And he mentioned it taking a while to fix. Surely he wasn't the one fixing it, but it did leave an ugly mark right outside his room! And when if her antlers had poked all the way through? Ivory didn't want to be responsible for damages done to his dorm room. Her face more worried than ever, the young Narava awaited a response from the boy. Hm, the boy? They hadn't even introduced themselves. Just wanting to get this all over now, Ivory said, "I-Ivory Veitch. Um, m-my name. Is Ivory Veitch."

Ivory felt her phone vibrate in her robes again, but decided she'd get back to Annabelle after she knew this boy wasn't mad at her, and didn't want something from her for ruining his silent day, whatever that was. Hopefully not something important.
