Dean manged to find the cafe easy enough from Adella's dorm, he quickly ordered the largest cup of coffee they sold for himself. He figured that he should get something for Adella and Riley since he had left so abruptly, as his coffee came back he ordered two for them. Dean drank his coffee black but he grabbed a few sugar packets and creamers for Riley and Adella before quickly and silently making his way back to Adella's dorm. He put the drinks on the floor in front of her door before knocking a few times. Dean walked away before there was an answer he felt like he had enough social interaction for one day.
After dropping off the coffee Dean found himself wandering up a stretch of beach as the sun was setting, he stopped and looked over the ocean at the setting sun. The ocean was calm and the tide gently lapped his shoes, as he stood there he started reciting a sonnet.
"Look in thy glass and tell the face thou viewest
Now is the time that face should form another;
Whose fresh repair if now thou not renewest,
Thou dost beguile the world, unbless some mother.
For where is she so fair whose uneared womb
Disdains the tillage of thy husbandry?
Or who is he so fond will be the tomb
Of his self-love, to stop posterity?
Thou art thy mother's glass and she in thee
Calls back the lovely April of her prime;
So thou through windows of thine age shalt see,
Despite of wrinkles, this thy golden time.
But if thou live, remembered not to be,
Die single and thine image dies with thee."
Dean reflected on what the sonnet meant and how he should be improving his own life but here he was just doing the same thing everyday and expecting a different outcome. When he finished reciting the sonnet to himself he placed his cup of coffee a safe distance from the incoming tides before using a part of his own shadow to form a rapier in his right hand. As he did every evening for the past few years he began practicing his fencing on a secluded stretch of beach alone.
