Iden Colewall

Iden blinked when Tsukiko added the suffix of "sensei" to his name, finding it rather odd. He hadn't ever been well exposed to Asian cultures, so anytime he was addressed in a non-European manner, it caught him off guard. It didn't matter, he recovered from it rather quickly. At least Iden knew that "sensei" was a Japanese word, even if he didn't have a meaning for it he considered it a start.
"It's nice to meet you, Tsukiko." He replied, not knowing that Tsukiko was her family name and not her given name.
Well if it was a cultural faux pas, she'd tell him. Right?

Luna softly smiled. "If this was Japan, you would be correct." She said, "My first name is Luna. It's... nice to meet you." This would be a first time for her to meet someone that's never been exposed to an Asian culture... but then again, she never really spoke to anyone about it. No one was curious about her anyways.

Iden Colewall

Iden blinked when Tsukiko gently corrected him, informing him that Luna was her first name. Well that was strange. If Luna was her first name and Tsukiko her family name, why had she switched them around? The Englishman didn't quite understand it, but that was the way he felt about most Asian cultures. Things were foreign and backwards, much like driving an automobile in the United States.
"Oh..well forgive me, I wasn't aware." He replied awkwardly.
Well, wasn't the whole situation just that, awkward?

Gwen Patts

Gwen noticed the twitch of his ears. His cat ears. Maybe he had heightened hearing or something? Couldn't cats hear really well? She didn't really know. That wasn't something she ever learned though she didn't learn much. "Well nice to meet you Kit, but that's not my full ability." Despite the means in which she got the power she still liked it So she didn't want to damper it.
Then he held out his hand. She had seen the scientists do this and some people that were outside. One person would hold out there hand and the other would hold there hand shake. She supposed it was some form of greeting because they did it when they arrived to the building in the morning. She shivered as she remembered one particular scientist that had arrived and did the hand shake about a month before she was rescued. He had caused her pain more than the others shocking her and hitting her when she hadn't even been asked to do anything. Suppressing that memory she shook the boy's hand with a smile. Something that she rarely did and rather enjoyed.

(( That's okay.))

"Your full ability? Sounds quite interesting!"

He chuckled warmly, rubbing the back of his head slowly as he did so and was his habit. Sticking his hands into his pockets he went on to continue.

"I myself have many talents, many of which are obtained through training and not inheritance or genetic modification. But well moving on... I just came here recently, what is there to do around this place, its a little quiet for my tastes."

His eyes were still closed as he maintained the smile but his face twitched, the stitching of his sanity almost coming loose for a moment. Keeping control of himself he opened his eye, electric blue and slitted as the were, well usually at least.

I find myself asking
Where am I? When am I? How am I? What am I? Who am I?
and as I drive myself insane,
More importantly.
I drive myself to the edge wondering
Why am I?
And does anyone care that I even am?

Luna was quite surprised, but the remembered that not everyone was originally from the same country. "It's fine, " She said. "I need to remember where I am at most times, so I need to let you know before hand; I sometimes say something in Japanese as well at random times. So if I confuse you at all as before, I apologize." Her hands held one another in front of her. It was nice for herself to know that she could still be kind to other people.

"Sure I guess it is." She put her hands on her hips. Then he mentioned the school being quiet. She hadn't really noticed though. The building had been quiet a lot. Especially at night when all the scientists got to go back to there cozy homes. She followed a few of them with her mind once. They had families and one had a girl nearly the same age as Gwen. She wondered how they could live with themselves.
"I hadn't really noticed that it was quiet. I haven't been here that long either so I Don't know much more than you do."

Kit laughed heartily at her response.

"Well that didn't help much now did it.... Now I still need to find something to do, the silence and boredom is beginning to drive me insane!"

He tapped his chin, thinking to himself. His grey tail flicked behind him slowly. Letting out a soft purring sound he messed up his hair with both hands.

"Now I just don't know what to do, or whats going on here!"

Kit sighed quietly, sticking his hands back into his pockets. He slouched, leaning against the wall, his own alabaster skin almost blending in with the white wall.

"I wish someone could tell me if we are supposed to be doing something you know?"

Iden Colewall

Iden listened to Luna's explanation of how she sometimes spoke in Japanese, and her offer to translate if ever he got confused. He nodded, rather glad of the offer. The teacher had had a...well, someone special who would sometimes drift off into Creole French and it took him months to get a regular translation going. It was nice to have someone offer it right out of the blocks.
"Thank you, I'll keep that in mind." Iden replied.
He got a funny twinge in the back of his head that popped up sometimes but didn't really dwell on it. Needless to say the man wasn't surprised when a bell rang somewhere in the halls. Well, looked like classes were dismissed for the lunch hour.

Luna's hidden ears perked straight up out of her hair right when the bell rung. Lunch time. Her hands went to her head immediately in attempt to hide them. "Ahh... my instinctual habit.." She sighed. With a frown, she looked at Mr. Colewall. "Are you going to go eat..?" She asked him, hoping he wouldn't ask if she was hiding something from him.

Iden Colewall

Iden didn't do so much as blink when Luna's ears perked up at the sound of the bell, he was used to it happening with some of the other students. He didn't say anything when she covered her ears, but figured that she probably knew that he had seen her reaction. Though it was helpful for him to see her ears, it actually helped the teacher to better recognize her based on a file he'd been shown by the headmistress 3 years ago, normal protocol for a new arrival.
"I think I shall." Iden replied. "And you?"

Luna was hesitant, but still, she nodded slowly. "Y-yeah." She said. "I always have a craving for fish though, so I hope they're serving some this time.." She was able to calm her nerves, so her ears slowly went back down. As soon as she felt them touching her scalp, she moved her hands down to her side, being normal again.

Iden Colewall

"Perhaps they will be serving fish today." Iden replied before moving out of Luna's way.
He watched as she removed her hands from her head, her ears now invisible to the untrained eye. This teacher's eye wasn't well trained for such a detail, but it didn't matter much. If she wanted to hide, he wouldn't hold it against her. Sometimes hiding was better than being out in the open.

"Which dreams indeed are ambition, for the very
substance of the ambitious is merely the shadow of a dream."

- Guildenstern, Hamlet, Act II Scene 2

Luna walked a bit out of the dark closet and into the bright hallways. She tried hard not to blink her eyes, letting them adjust quickly. She turned her head to look at the professor again and smiled a little again. "...Thanks, Mr. Colewall." She said, then turned again to sprint down the hallway to head straight to the cafeteria. Being a cat, she moved quite swiftly and really fast for a human, but she didn't mind right now. She didn't remember if the professor had asked her to accompany him anyways.

Gwen Patts

Gwen was a little taken aback he started laughing, but gained her composure quickly. This boy was quite flamboyant. She wasn't used to that, but it seemed enjoyable to act like that with no care in the world. "Well going insane wouldn't be a good idea." Her eyes caught his tail darting and then she heard him purring. This boy was interesting.
The bell rang, but Gwen ignored it. "We could go eat."
