- Piper hated the cold. Immensely. Completely. Irrevocably. Quintessentially. Sure, it could be pretty -- snow and what not, but gelid weather caused winter clothing and winter clothing so did not let Piper show off anything impressive when it came to her looks. It didn't matter what kind of jackets anyone wore, they always looked like the Michelin Man. Can you say unattractive? It was days like this Piper just wanted to cocoon herself in thick comforters and blankets and sleep until it was time for lunch. Why the (currently) brunette woman hadn't complied with her instinct she hadn't the foggiest. She would have been more than happy to sleep the day away in warmth, blissfully unaware to the weather outside. It was days like this that made her miss the seemingly eternal sunshine of Hollywood. The ex-popstar sighed heavily at the reminder that she would more that likely never be stepping foot inside of Hollywood ever again. Being ostracized by the media tended to have that effect on people, sadly enough.
There was a faint shuffling noise tinging the room as Piper shifted through sheets of music with her well manicured fingers. Her eyes would scan a bit of the music before sorting it into one of three piles: no class should ever touch that, I could pass this onto another music class, and perfect! Her teeth worried her bottom lip as the piles got thicker and thicker; the woman had been at this ever since her ungodly alarm had woken her up -- naturally Piper had tried to block out the noise, but then her ability started doing over time, latching onto the noise and turning it to light. Then with the combination of the both light and sound, the brunette had been unable to sleep any longer. Thus, forcing her to be productive on one of her days off. Ugh, you'd think a former pop-queen would have more of a life than planning classes three weeks in advance.
The fact that no, Piper really didn't have anything better to do than perseverate her sorting was almost as annoying as having to do the menial task itself.
With the flash of annoyance the small specters of light bled pink then red, the color was evanescent, disappearing with the brunt of the new emotion. Remaining in place were small prisms of white and blue dancing unconsciously around Piper's head, in reaction from the sound of paper against paper. In moments of concentration it was far too much effort to try and suppress the glitter that her mutation of sorts caused, and so the light weaved and danced around Piper, almost ritualistically -- worshiping its source of life.
The teacher breathed an audible sigh of relief when she reached a lacuna in the pile of her work. Knitting her fingers together, Piper stretched her arms above her head and spared a baleful glance out the nearest window, watching the white, fluffy, snow drift down merrily. Stupid snow. Stupid cold. Stupid school not being in stupid tropical area. On the bright side, with one of her classes accounted for, she could at least spare and hour or two doing other things, leaving her preparation in abeyance. Setting her work aside into neat folders and filing them away into her desk at the front of the auditorium, Piper examined her works space once more to ensure nothing was out of place before leaving the room.
"Wonder what Quinn's doing?" Piper mused absently, her voice dulcet, as she left the auditorium her prisms following and lighting up the corridor brightly. "Lord knows I could use something to get my mind off the fact I've become a working drone! A fate worse than death!" Piper might have laughed at her hyperbole except she felt that it was all too true in her current state. She was only twenty six! Piper was in her prime! On her free days she should have been crammed full of things to do and people to see! "Or I could go see Becky," Piper sing-songed, thinking of the gruff 'nurse', Beckett. Every time she thought of the man's occupation she couldn't help but giggle. When she had been told they were going to have a nurse on-site, she had been expecting an over weight, mother-hen of a matron, not some delicious hunk. Mmm, delicious definitely being emphasized.
Piper found herself wandering through the hallways, recognizing as she came closer to the courtyard. A few of the older students passed her, waving; younger students who were still new to the school could be caught staring at the ex-popstar, whispering to each other "Isn't that Erato? You know, I totally love her song France is Waiting!", "What, no, that can't be her?", "I'm serious! Look at her! That's got to be her!", "Oh my god, that's so cool!" To those cases, Piper couldn't help but feel a warmth in her chest take wing and soar; even the prisms that floated dutifully around her took definite forms such as birds and became brighter fluttering around and flying in and among the students present. It was nice to be remembered for her legacy of music rather than the scandal that had come about from "coming out" about her abilities.
Slowly, her light show of birds began gathering a show of younger students, even a few of the older students in passing lagged to watch as Piper showed off. From birds the light morphed into projections of larger animals. At one point a rabbit bounded around the heads of the students breaking into a shower of sparkles as it landed on one of the Freshman students. Laughs erupted from the crowd that had gathered and Piper molded herself easily into the bright atmosphere that had impregnated the courtyard. The laughs and the voices fed into Piper's ability of converting the sound and the more exotic her constructs became, inspiring more awe and laughs from the small crowd.

- Altair hummed as he wandered somewhat aimlessly across the Mythica grounds by the lake. There was much to do today for the groundskeeper, on the first day that students were arriving back to the school. However, the man felt rather disinclined to work at the moment, as the snow drifted gently about him glistening white and pure on the ground. It would feel a shame to have to shovel it away so that the students could make their way to school for classes the next day. Altair didn't want to ruin the beauty, but it was his job. Sighing a cold white puff into the air, Altair looked down from the swirling snow, and tucked his chin into his scarf. "A shame, a shame..." he muttered to himself, and abruptly turned to walk back across the light snow, the way he had come.
There were already students meandering across the grounds, either eager to get out of the cold, or enjoying the fresh snow by throwing snow-balls and making snow-angles. It was too cold for the snow to stick together however, so the snow-ball fights were somewhat short-lived, and the single attempt at a snowman lay in a heap of forgotten white. The students created sounds of life for the school; laughter and happy chatting, and the occasional yell as a snow-ball hit a target in a puff of cold flakes. The Originals were having fun too, standing out with their coloured glows against the white of the snow. They were more often than not whispering suggestions into their Original's ear as to whom to hit next with a snowball. Impervious to the human world's elements, they floated around sporting whatever they wished, laying in the snow happily.
The frigid air nipped at Altair's nose. Hands jammed into the pockets his long red, military-fashion coat, the man headed to the tool shed to retrieve the shovel. He hoped to get the chore done quickly and that when he woke up the next morning, the snow would not be a foot high where he had just shoveled it. The shed was on the other side of the grounds by the greenhouses, and the walk gave time for Altair's mind to drift aimlessly, much like the snowflakes falling from the sky around him. He wondered what tea he should make after he finished shoveling. Earl Grey? Maybe.. "Ah! Altair said, realizing the perfect drink for the day. "Hot chocolate, of course. Perfect after hard work in the snow. It's really a shame that you never could try any." Altair paused, and then continued. "I wonder if you would like it. It's very sweet, and it warms you from the inside out. It doesn't really taste much like chocolate, though." Altair laughed. "Mostly mine is made of up of cream and marshmallows, no cocoa..." Altair trailed of as he reached the shed.
Talking to people long gone. Altair shook his head and removed his hand from his pocket to press it against the shed's finger-print recognition pad. There was a beep of confirmation and Altair pushed open the door to the small shed. The inside smelled of damp dirt and rust, and of cold. Retrieving the shovel from among the many other garden tools, disentangling the handle from a rather old rake, Altair stepped out from the shed, the door locking itself behind him.
Returning to the front of the school, Altair began at the front steps, the snow already packed and trampled to the stones. Sighing, Altair began to shovel it away, the metal scraping against the stones, cold December air sharp in the man's lungs, laughter and chatter from the students echoing across the grounds.

Ivy Maddox Amello let out a slightly frustrated sigh as she glanced downward at her watch. It read 10:00 sharp. The Dawn meeting was supposed to start at 10:15am, but Ivy was on her way to the lake at that very moment with the full intention of being early. Ever since she had been very small, Ivy had valued punctuality. However, there was a reason beyond moral code that she was trekking through one of Mythica’s numerous forests all by herself, especially towards the lake. Now, Ivy was not a superstitious girl, nor was she sure she believed the rumor that inside the lake was a bloodthirsty monster willing to devour and destroy any student who was stupid enough to go swimming in the lake (although as far as Ivy was concerned, if someone was stupid enough to go into the lake then being devoured was no one’s fault but their own.) However, regardless of whether the rumor was true or not, being alone in the Mythica wood was dangerous.
Especially what with Dusk roaming about.
Dusk…
Even the thought of dusk going through her head so quickly was enough to make Ivy angry, although it didn’t reflect on her face which always managed to look emotionless if not a little bit bored. She hated Dusk. Dusk: The group of terrorists wandering about Mythica while plotting to destroy it. They had been defeated once already, why couldn’t they get the hint? Dusk: The reason Dawn existed. Dawn: The group formed by Mythica’s headmaster, lead by her best friend (and one of her only friends) Channer. Ah yes, Channer. That lead her back to her previous train of thought. Channer was Dawn’s leader, and over the summer, Channer had asked her for help. She needed a second in command, someone who would not necessarily overshadow the leader, or even act like a leader really, but someone who could be relied on. Someone to take the pressure off of the leader and help when help was needed. She needed someone who could enforce Dawn’s rules when Channer could not, and lastly, someone who could take the reigns and move forward.
Ivy, the girl who seemed externally to have little emotional attachment to anything, was the idea person to move forward was she not? Furthermore, when she did develop an emotional attachment, she stuck by it through and through. In other words, she did not blur the lines between emotion and business, and she was damn loyal. If Channer needed her to do anything, she would do it with minimal hesitation. If she had to, she would be Channer’s iron fist. Hopefully though, she wouldn’t have to be. Ivy by no means enjoyed having to use an “iron fist.” Nor was she void of the soft side so many people believed her to lack completely. She was just scared. She was scared of so many things. One of them was the failure of Dawn and the collapse of Mythica, which she refused to turn into a reality even if it meant getting on some people’s bad sides. It was worth it in the end and as far as she was concerned she didn’t need many people anyway. She had Channer, and Aaron, another fifth year, was also her friend.
She made herself believe that she by no regards needed to have any more friends.
With a melancholy hum Ivy continued to weave her way through the familiar trees until she arrived at an almost ominous clearing, face to face with a large body of water, which she couldn’t help but believe was larger than any mere “lake” should be. Carefully if not curiously, she took a number of steps forward, stopping just as her feet met the shallow tide. Sure, were she stood the lake was only so many millimeters deep, a foot out though, it was a couple of inches deep, and a couple feet out it was even deeper. She couldn’t help but wonder… in the center of the lake, where the lake was deepest, even if there was no rumored squid beast, what was down there beneath the murky black surface, and when the lake froze over as it was bound to (there was already snow on the ground and it was only bound to keep getting colder), did those things die? Or did they continue to swim in mystery? As if startled by her own wandering mind, Ivy took about ten fast steps back, eyes glancing back and forth to ensure she was still alone, which she was. Then, she jammed her black-gloved hands into the pockets of her flannel plaid Jacket.
Where was everyone anyway? By this point it had to have been close to 10:15, meaning other people should be starting to arrive. More importantly where was Channer? Ivy wanted to go through the protocol one more time, to make sure she was doing everything right. Because if she wasn’t then she may as just go back to her room and unpack her still packed bags. She had arrived at Mythica early, and received her ID already, as she needed to do, but she just hadn’t had the time to unpack.
For as she had already iterated, there was more going on in her life.
Impatiently, Ivy clutched the cellphone in her and glanced at the time. 10:15 was getting closer and there was no sign of Dawn life. It pissed her off. No one thought arriving early would be a good idea? No one at all? She thought about texting people, urging them to get their asses to the lake, but for all she knew they were already on their way (it appeared that Dawn’s iron fist was a little eager to get started after all), she had no place telling them to hurry up. Instead she sent a text message to Channer, telling the leader she was in her spot, and merely waiting for the others to arrive so she they could get to the clearing and then the real dawn meeting would start. Ivy had already seen the clearing, having traveled there with Channer at the end of last year. She never enjoyed teleporting though. It made her slightly dizzy each time, and Channer had teleported her enough that the phrase everytime was pretty astounding.

Disappointment, as always. Sad yet not sad though as at least I was use to it already. Besides, melting the snow would be a bit much. After all, wasn’t this school suppose to be secret from outsiders or something? But whatever. “Mmm....right. Light only creates darkness, not heat,” I added to her statement. It was true, because of light, shadows existed. It truly was interesting how opposite the two were, light and dark, yet how dependent on each other they were to exist. After all, if there was no darkness, what would the light illuminate? The thought was kind of comforting; it made me feel like no matter how ******** up things got, there was always balance...somehow.
Woops! I was lost in thought before I knew it. Luckily she had not taken the comment poorly at all; innuendo and all. In fact, she seemed quite happy. It was nice to see. Probably the reason I flirted so much was because it usually brought joy to girls. Everyone wants to feel wanted, whether they admit it or not. Even I...well whatever. It put a smile on her face and plus flirting was always fun. “Of course. How silly of me. A woman such as yourself would obviously attract the interest....ehhh...ummm...attention of any guy,” I said, rubbing the back of my head, once more biting my tongue. All of it was a ruse though. That was how I worked. Delivering the innocent flirtatious line, then converting to the shy, overly flattering, tongue tied guy that girls always liked but were never turned on by. It was my way. It was a good way to put certain people in a good mood, gaining their friendship and favor while keeping a safe emotion distance. I mean, obviously I found her attractive, I mean, who wouldn’t. Hell, many of the girls here were nice to look at but...“I’m okay with being like this...for now” I’m guess I am just a tool.
But hh yes, back to the weather which was indeed a bother. “No reason is as fine as any,” I replied. “I’m just not well adjusted with this kind of weather. Makes my skin dry...well, yeah. Hehehe.” Man, I hated how dry my skin got during these winters. My first year here, the skin on my hands almost bleed I was so dry. Before I knew it though, Piper began sending another light puppet towards one of the other staff. Apparently the pleasure of my company had no expired. No matter though, I had other things to attend to. “Well, I hope to talk to you again soon,” I said with a small bow. “Sayonora sensie!! I look forward to seeing you in class.” With nothing else but a warm smile, I turned and made my way towards down a random passage.
For some reason, however, while I walked, I had the annoying feeling that I was forgetting something. “Chikuso...what the heck was it?” It was like having something on the tip of your tongue. I knew we didn’t have any soccer meetings this soon, and club sign ups would probably come later, if even today. So what was it? If Renan was around, he could just simply remember whatever it was I was suppose to remember since he could read memories....or something with memories. I knew the guy pretty well yet the nature of his powers always eluded me. “Wait!! Renan!! The meeting!!” Amazing how despite his presence, Ren was still helpful.
Dashing back the way I came, I headed towards out towards the courtyard. I knew I was probably running late since the last time I checked the time it was about ten. The meeting was at ten-ten and it was a good dash to town. Opening the door, I felt the cold breeze instantly hit my body, almost causing me to reflexively close it. I had forgotten that I didn’t have a jacket on me, and the shirt I was wearing was thin as hell. Soft though. “Ohhh so soft.”
Stepping out, I crossed my arms to keep my chest warm. We had winters in Japan sure, but not like this. I mean, I grew up in southern Japan/ summer time Italy, so this was kinda a different level. Making my way through, I spotted Nathan and Elk beneath the archway. “At least I’m not the only one who hasn’t arrived yet.” I would have stopped to say hi since we were all heading in the same place anyways but...well it was Elk and Nathan. Nat wouldn’t have minded but Elk...she was full out on getting Nathan back. Somehow, even I had gotten involved in her scheme. But hell, she wasn’t a bad person and someone who I have to work with anyways, so it was kinda my role to be used anyways. Pathetic way to look at it I suppose. Besides, if I could pacify her desires, then at least I’m helping someone out.
But still, as for the moment, she was alone with Nathan “Alone enough anyways,” so I figured she didn’t want to be interrupted. Nathan and I would chat later. Walking by them, still hugging myself, I lifted my hand from my chest barely enough to give a quick wave before going off. They would catch up. Besides, leaving all together could seem odd. Picking up into a run, I could feel the snow slipping into my shoes, wetting my socks and freezing my feet. “And everyone else thinks that there’s only fire in hell!” I really began to regret not going back for my jacket, but my need for being punctual was a bit overwhelming. Didn’t want to chance pissing off anyone by being late. In Dusk, so many people got pissed off so easily.
Suddenly I remembered that there was no cold in the Shadow Realm. Such a place was devoid of things such as temperature...and air for that matter. Luckily though since the world seemed to be an extension of my powers, so the no air thing didn’t really effect my body so much. But back on subject, I tried to perform Shadow Drop. Interestingly though, I remained where I was. Looking down, I then realized. Snow reflected the days light, making shadows non-existent or incredibly faint on snowy days like this. If there was a shadow to drop into, I’d have to stay still for a bit and concentrate to find and open up said shadow. “Standing in the freezing cold? No thanks.”
Picking up pace again, I sprinted down towards town. Good thing I stayed in shape with soccer, but the air was so thin and cold I lost my breath more easily. Even my lower extremities were beginning to ice up, but keeping my heart warm was more important, as painful as that is to admit.
Finally arriving in town, I made my way to the storage facility. I would stop by the store later to pick up some food for an excuse in case anyone asked when I got back. “Which was it? 4A? Wait...that’s my room number. Seven!! 7A.” Coming to the door, I reached for the knob which was as cold a death. It was locked.
Crap!!” I had forgotten the key. The key that Lucifer had stressed with the utmost importance. I wasn’t the more useful of members as it was and now this. The only thing I could do was wait for someone else with the key to show up, and pray the next person wasn’t Luke. Standing there, freezing my tail off, I began to shiver. Sad part was I was probably only was standing there a minute tops. Peering down at the bottom of the door, I noticed there was a small crack which only darkness escaped. This was the doors shadow. Touching my foot to the bottom of the door, I began to concentrate a bit. Only took a few seconds, though infinitely longer than usually, but finally I found a doorway to the darkness. Without hesitation, I dropped.
Opening my eyes, everything was in shadow scape black and white. It was always disorienting since it felt like someone was pushing down on my head hard enough to turn me inside out. Unpleasant, but was use to it. The ground was covered in blinding white, the representation of the light the snow reflected. Turning towards the door, I began push through it, passing through it as if it were a vapor. I was lucky this door had a large enough crack at the bottom to produce a shadow. Inside, was dark; incredibly dark, but everything was solid. There was much clutter in the room indeed, all in shades of black or grey. This realm was incredibly depressing. Also...was she here? I didn’t want to find out. Without second though, I flipped back to the world of color.
Opening my eyes once more, the room was still dark, but not like it was. Everything was backwards, or probably rightwards, and the air no longer had the grainy consistency as the rooms shadow. Looking around through the junk and clutter, I spotted a familiar face.“Hello Aaron,” I said, my voice my lacking it’s usual cheery disposition.

- A gang of students rushed through the piles of snow. Little vegetation could be seen through the snow, except for the hulking trees which made up the forest. Snow weighed down the branches as it slowly slipped off. An occasional ringing of laughter could be heard. Amidst the cheerful atmosphere, a lone shadow darted softly through the trees, as if trying to avoid all the other people. Finally, as the noise died away and the place was left basically deserted, a figure slipped out and stood there, admiring the snowflakes which were softly descending from the sky. Long waves of her famous white hair settled around her, seemingly blending in the white background. She lifted her head to look at the sky with clear green eyes. With delicate fingers, she plucked a snowflake from nearby and blew on it, watching it float away. That caught her attention for only a few seconds as her head snapped to the side. Her gaze landed on the buildings that were just up ahead and her lips curved into a small smile.
“Looks like I’m almost home, eh?”
Cadence’s whisper could be barely heard and it was most definite that those people that she had seen coming before, would not be able to hear it. Shrugging her bag over her shoulder, she trudged through the forest, trying to reach her destination. It was only a short distance before she stopped. The bottom part of her stockings was wet. She quietly cursed herself under her breath. Her choice of clothes today had been quite unusual for her, and she had unfortunately chosen one of the most impractical sets for the weather. She wore knee-high socks, a short skirt and a long-sleeved shirt, coupled with a leather jacket to keep her warm. If she kept on going this way, she was going to end up with really wet socks. Ah well. That was one of the most trivial things that she had ever stopped to think about.
Memories flooded into her, as that time she had spent as a result of the court wanting to question her in detail. Her job at the court had been to convict the two guards who had killed at her friend, Leila, as they had been refusing to plead guilty and there was not enough evidence to convict them. She had not been entirely sure that the court would accept her word as a witness, since she was a mutant. It would seem as if these people did not really mind if she was…different, to say the least. There was always the possibility that they hid their disgust. She could barely look at the parents of the girl, who had died in her place.
As she laid eyes on the school, she felt at peace and even, hopeful. Hope could make such a difference to the world. That was exactly why she had opted to be part of the Dawn, or at least, she had accepted when she had been asked. After all, their cause was a worthy one – to stop the Dusk from destroying this place, the only place in which the mutants could seek refuge. Someone like her knew that all too well. If there was one thing that she didn’t understand, it was why the Dusk insisted on trying to destroy everything. Maybe there was something in their past that forced them to do this. She knew all too well how much impact the past had on the present and the future.
Gathering all the necessary equipment and information she needed, like the school I.D, she headed up to the dorm room that she was going to be staying in. Curious eyes peered as the door opened. It seemed about the same as her old one, and hopefully it was going to be just as comfortable. After all, this was going to be her home for a while. Unpacking her stuff, she flopped on the bed. What should she do now? No doubt, she could always try to socialize with the other and maybe new people that were coming too, but she didn’t really feel like doing anything like that at the moment. Maybe that time in court had already soured her. There had to be other things that she could do, aside from talking to people and getting ready for the Winter Formal. She pulled a face. Dressing up could be fun for some, but that was something that she disliked. All that effort was always just to impress the boys. Fun.
Flopping down on the bed, about a minute passed before she sprang up with a startled look on her face. Damn it! She had completely forgotten about the meeting she was supposed to be having with the members of the Dawn. That was supposed to be of great importance. Grabbing her cloak and cap and stowing them away in her pocket, she hurried towards the entrance. She acted as normal as she could possibly manage at the moment, putting up her very best form of her disguise – ambling as slowly as she could towards the forest. Catching sight of the exuberant light displays that were a short distance away, she forced herself to keep on moving and totally disregarded her itching desire to join. Dawn was more important. It was not until she had gone halfway in the completely wrong direction instead of heading towards the lake, did she finally stop. Her green eyes slowly morphed into silver as she blinked her eyes. Finding her balance was quite easy as she swivelled in a full turn to make sure that no-one was following her. Nobody seemed to be. Putting the cloak on top of her and, her entire body and head was swathed in the silky material and she covered her face as well as she could. The only thing that could be really seen was her silvery eyes, which were not enough to give her entire identity away. That was exactly how she wanted it.
Floating barely a centimetre from the ground, she carefully made her way towards the lake, not wanting anybody to be able to see her. Every few steps she would stop and turn around to make sure that there was nobody behind her. Eventually, she made her way to the lake and stood there seemingly admiring the rippling blue water for a bit. In actual fact, she was checking to make sure that there were no enemies hiding around. Her keen eyes caught the shape of a distinctly female body and she immediately clarified the person. Ivy. The second-in-command of the Dawn. It would seem as if Ivy had been there for a short while already. After all, Ivy was very strict on punctuality, something that completely went against Cadence’s habit. Well, it would still seem as if she was still quite early.
She directed herself, skimming her feet just above the water, towards Ivy who was on the other side of the lake. Landing carefully next to Ivy, she did not take off the cloak she was wearing. It had taken her too long and too much trouble to form the other self of ‘Aqua’, who was neutral and a water-controller, that she never put her guise down. Very few people at the school knew who she was exactly and she intended on keeping it that way. Even some of the Dawn members, especially those more newer ones, did not fully know her true identity. It was easier to catch your enemy by surprise if they thought that you were something else. At least, it had always been working for her.
“Luna’s reporting for duty.”

- Altair shoveled at the snow in a steady rhythm, white flakes scattering in the air along with the harsh scrape of metal on stone. He was a little more than half-way down the walk, which was good, for he had been working for only a quarter-hour at the most. Although the work was relatively light to that of shoveling deep in winter, he was looking froward to the mug of cocoa after he was done. Altair had almost an addict-like love towards anything sweet.
Altair caught a flicker of colour out of the corner of his eye, and looked up to an Other standing beside him, crossing it's arms and looking slightly impatient. Pausing in his shoveling, Altair straightened up, and looked at the Other inquisitively. "Is there something that I can help you with?" he asked it politely, curious as to why the Other was hanging around Altair, and not it's original, for there was no one close that it might belong to. It couldn't be lost, for all Others had a sense as to where their Originals were, and even if not, could easily find them. Objects were no obstacle.
The Other looked familiar, but Altair couldn't place the memory. The other was a female, and had long soft petal-pink hair which swirled about her, but not by the wind. She had gold eyes, and a piercing glare, which was currently fixed on Altair. She had a long figure, and was wearing nothing more than a plain white sundress that went to just above her knees. 'You're late for the meeting.' the Other said quite simply.
Altair blinked for a moment, and then realized what the Other was talking about, and who it's Original was. Ivy, the Dawn's second. "I suppose I am."
Ivy's Other frowned at him. "I'll be along in a moment. I just have to first return my shovel. It would be rather strange to bring it along, don't you think?" The Other didn't respond.
After returning the shovel to the garden shed, and leaving the path half covered in snow, half not, Altair asked the Other, who had followed along beside him, glowering that he wasn't moving faster as to get to the meeting more quickly, where the meeting was to be. Altair had either forgotten or not been informed of teh meeting's location. He was leaning towards forgetting however, for he had remembered that there was a meeting, albeit, after he had been reminded by the Other. 'By the lakeshore. I'm waiting for everyone there.' the Other replied, using 'I' even as she referred to her original, Ivy. Others had a habit of doing this, for they were one and the same, yet different from their originals.
The Other led Altair to the meeting place, throwing back a glance at the man when he walked to slow for the Other's tastes. Altair was in no way concerned about the time.He would get there, and why expend oneself if only for a few minutes of time? Eventually, however, they arrived at the lakeshore, where Ivy was waiting, her green hair in contrast to her Other's pink. Her Other drifted over to Ivy, and settled in the air beside her. There was another student beside Ivy, a girl with long white hair that Altair thought he had seen in the school last year, but couldn't place the name of. Her Other looked almost like a twin, humming a tune softly, and observing the scene intently.
"Good Morning, Ivy," Altair greeted the girl, stopping beside the two students. "I had forgotten that I had been informed of the meeting, but luckily your Other came and stalked me until I consented to come." Altair smiled, and gave a nod to Ivy's Other, who looked at him with a touch of scorn, as if she hadn't forgiven him for not dropping everything and running.
'I shouldn't have had to come gather you in the first place.' Altair laughed.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxAARON KNIGHT

- Currently sitting at the courtyard, Aaron had tried to keep his mind at ease. Since it was the new year, there were no classes in session. He guessed he should be happy about that, but the young male felt nothing of that sort. It wasn't that he was unhappy that school had been out of session. No. It wasn't that. The young male was concerned of the Dawn. Although the Dawn patrol had made no such movement towards the Dusk yet, it could still happen.
Attempting to enjoy the sunny and quiet morning, Aaron tried to rid of his thoughts at the moment, trying to focus on the bird song. On a normal morning, he would regularly bring himself to enjoy the pleasent melody that stifled through the air, which if you closed your eyes and listen carefully you just might hear it. But as luck have it, he wasn't doing well at it.
Slightly lifting up his head, his gaze slowly flickered towards the vastness of the school. The prospect of seeing the building and its sourrounding leave without a trace actually lifted his spirits a bit. But all he wanted more was to have the school out of business.
Aaron wouldn't care less if that very fact proved himself to be selfish. Please. He was the bad guy just because he was part of Dusk? The young male recalled of his purpose; saving the mutants. He just couldn't bear the thought of being careless and simply letting something go. The experience of losing Lenith years ago proved to be very painful. If he would just leave everything be, then there were chances that a mutant would lose their life. Aaron would rather witness his own death, then have someone else die. They clearly didn't deserve that kind of treachery. He was really doing this for their own good after all. Joining Dusk was actually a good decision for him.
But he never expected the Dawn to come in existence. And their every move proved to be vulnerable. That was just as well, since he had practically surrounded himself around the presence of Dawn. He found himself to despise that group, and had wanted the urge to hate everyone that was in it. But somehow, Aaron couldn't hate Ivy, who was also part of Dawn. It was such a surprise that by now she hadn't learned of his status, nor did he want her to know. If she even learn that he was part of Dusk, things will get more complicated than before. He didn't want that. Ivy proved to really hate the Dusk, just the same as the others.
Heaving out a weary sigh, Aaron decided that he had almost spent an eternity here in the courtyard. He now didn't want to spend any more quality time in that enclosed space. In fact, he'd rather move around. It didn't take long for him to get to his feet; only for a few seconds.
Whenever nothing had been on his schedule at the moment, he liked to take the time to rest or to take a walk around school grounds. Right now, having a walk seemed like the best option. Being the laid back type of person, he always prefer a peaceful moment to himself. He was never the nature boy, yet sometimes he appreciated it.
Even though the existence of Mythica was of nothing to him, he loved to walk around the school grounds. Aaron had to admit that he was a little bit overwhelmed of some of the school's areas, by all the years he had spent there. It was quite surprising for him, judging that he swore to himself that he'll never get used to it.
After wandering around in numerous places, he had now found himself within 10 feet of the lake. Aaron could make out three figures, which one of them belonged to Ivy. He didn't know of the rest that were with her, but he had a pretty good idea that they were part of Dawn as well. It was good that he was well hid otherwise he didn't know what might've happen then.
Having the worst attention span ever, he had already gotten away from that very spot, leaving no trace that he had been here previously.

- Cadence had seen the man that was now standing next to Ivy, long before he had been near. Swivelling her head around was the most effective way of her being able to check the area with her silvery eyes. Most importantly, she had been keeping a lookout for any Dusk members. As she had not been able to totally identify the man when she had first seen him, she flicked the hood of her cloak so that only her eyes could be seen once more. She was not entirely sure if there were any enemies around to find her identity out. Even allies could be potential enemies. While she didn’t really want to get in the habit of accusing everyone around her, she did usually try as well as she could to keep her identity safe and sound.
Her silver eyes analysed the man before her as quickly as possible. He seemed to be carrying no sort of weapon, which was always a good start. Unfortunately, she could not tell the colour of his eyes or his hair or of anything really. Her sight was limited to the connections that streamed off a being and that was limited to usually one colour, unless she suddenly decided it was time for a colour change. Judging by the fact that Ivy’s Other had taken him here, it would seem as if he was an ally. Her mind scrolled through the possibilities. A vague memory of seeing him before drifted through her brain but it was hard recognizing a person using just the rough shape. Ah well, she could do that later when she wasn’t checking for possible enemies.
The edges of the cloak fluttered around her as she pulled the edges tighter around herself. Her feet were barely a centimetre from the ground and she was worried that her flimsy shoes might not be able to last for much longer in this snow. Snow itself was good, but not when she was wearing idiotic clothing. She made a mental note to herself that she would remember to change into something much more practical before coming to meetings. People always turned up at different times and being one of the first few meant that you had to patiently wait for the others before leaving. At least, that was the normal protocol that she had become accustomed to.
Crap. She had completely forgotten about her current task. Looking around again she could not see anything that posed a direct threat, at least, not just yet. The vision that she controlled was limited in its range and that was something that she needed to work on. Of course, she still had Block B days free, although she did use them sometimes to catch up on a lack of sleep. Being part of Dawn and a Senior member too meant that she had to miss out on her beauty sleep occasionally. Then again, that was a teeny sacrifice for the goal that she was planning for – the absolute elimination of the Dusk. She didn’t entirely know who was in it or who formed it in the first place but she was intending to find out as the year progressed.
The name Altair flittered through her mind and she puzzled about it for a while. Wait, that was the name that she had been looking for – the name of the man that was standing nearby them. Wasn’t he the groundskeeper or something like that? She often remembered seeing him, especially on days like this, looking after Mythica. That was an interesting piece of information. It would seem as if Dawn wasn’t entirely comprised of students. Anyway, she had better things to worry about. This wasn’t the actual meeting place, as she guessed, since the leader wasn’t here. It looked as if this was the ‘decoy’ meeting place to deter any Dusk members from hearing their plans.
Looking directly at Altair, she contemplated whether she should say hello or retreat into a silent shell. Even though she was sure that there would be time for greetings and formalities later, wouldn’t it be entirely rude to totally ignore them? After all, as long as he was an ally, he posed no sort of threat towards her. She stayed silent for a few minutes, her gaze diverting to gaze at the lake and its beauty. Silently cursing at herself for her total lack of manners, she stared at Altair, trying to make her eyes seem as friendly as possible. It was hard to see her smile as the cloak which cast a shadow on her face, partially concealing it. She tried to keep her speech as casual as she possibly could.
“Hey, Altair.”

But the wind and the land
And the fire and the rain
and the fire and always stay the same

"You're sending me away?"
It made no sense at the time. Why would they send her away? It wasn't like she used her powers to hurt anyone. Instead, they were used for good! Instead of having a fried daughter, they had one who was currently alive and well. After that incident with the lightning, the electricity in her body countered the affect of the electricity that was shot from above. What if this was the above's doing? Whoever lived up there throwing lightning bolts had pretty good aim...or Cyrielle was really stupid enough to stand a bit too close to that tree..or lean against it or something that helped the slap of lightning come down and hit her. She doubted that it was even possible for anyone to get hit by a lightning bolt. Not. Possible. At least she didn't have to worry about her energy building up again. It was really uncomfortable and the only way she could let it out with out causing any electrical mishaps, was running around like some idiotic hyper girl who had way too many monster drinks. If anyone really knew her, they would know how she really wasn't afraid of such energy drinks. She wasn't a big fan of caffeine in general. Sure it kept one up for a long time, but there was always that probability that she would crash. It was only temporary energy which Cyrielle didn't think she needed or wanted.
Back to the scene that played in the blond girl's head, young Cyrielle was staring at her "parents" and her one step-brother. They were a strange looking family. Both her and her brother looked very similar to their parents..but not at the same time. Like her mother, Cyrielle was blond, but a bit too blond to match the color that sat in her adopted mother's hair. Her brother may have had dark hair like her fathers, but it just didn't match the texture. Their faces didn't match their parents either. It made sense seeing that Cyrielle's real parents were dead, and her brother...well, she didn't really know or care about what happened to his parents. He could have been an unplanned child for all she cared. All that really mattered was that he was alive...right? Yup, all that mattered was his well being because now, their daughter was dead to him because she wouldn't die from a lightning bolt. Oh the irony that played into the scene and caused tears to fall from wide green orbs. Quickly wiping them away, Cyrielle listened deftly to her parents' explanations and watched as her brother fidgeted uneasily beside them. Not really sure about what they said, she absent mindlessly agreed with them and they left.
"You're going to a new school...for you. We're sorry, but it's too dangerous to keep someone like you."
How did they know that it just wasn't a miracle that the lightning didn't kill her? The questioned popped into Cyrielle's head from time to time as she made her way to the school for the "gifted" or something like that. A boarding school; a place similar to the kinds that rich folks sent their children to because they didn't want them running around the house while they did whatever they wanted to do when the children were asleep. Whether this "safe haven" was true in meaning or not, Cyrielle did not want to be there. Her face betrayed her true beliefs about Mythica as she walked out of the building with her student I.D. A smiling, yet pale face with green eyes staring at the camera were careful not to betray the annoyance she had for being stuck in a school full of "people like her". Sure it was interesting and she was overly curious about the kind of people were around her. What powers did they have? Were they strong? Weak? Could she really fit in? A sigh escaped the young girl as she looked around for her way to the dorms. She really hated thinking that way, but couldn't help feeling like a girl stepping into high school for the first time. It really wasn't her first time attending Mythica. She had started going to the boarding school about a year or so ago. Before then, after the accident, she studied under her parent's supervision as a home schooled child while they continued to research about this "Mythica" under secrecy. They were like the relatives of Harry Potter! Was it really that wrong that their child was able to reflect lightning with her own set of electricity? Still, she was surprised that they still wanted to make sure that this Mythica was no hoax where their "child" would be harmed. She wondered if it really mattered to them that their adopted mutant child was harmed or not.
This world is confusing... she thought as she slung her bag behind her shoulder and held onto a piece of paper in one hand. Her eyes traced the familiar road that was trekked on by students who were going about their merry way. People like me...are we really that bad? she wondered as a hand slid into her side pocket. Removing said hand from said pocket, she stared at the folded map that was given to her at the office. With that, she hoped to help with the forces that were planning on taking the school down. If the school didn't existed, if mutants didn't exist, she could have lived a normal life. Her parents would have seen her survival as a miracle and welcomed her home with open arms. Her brother would stop fidgeting in that annoying way of his whenever he saw her. She would be home whining about how summer was over to her friends on the phone. She could live a normal life without the discrimination she was bound to face in outside world. It wasn't as if she wasn't already facing something now with her parents. They barely talked to her since then. She barely talked to anyone during her time in Mythica as well. Always a quiet one who tried to keep to herself. Cyrielle figured that over the years, she had grown a slight fear of other mutants like her. Sometimes, she frightened herself. Like that one time in Art where she accidentally zapped her pencil and it fell to the floor or when when she zapped herself when playing the violin. The metal strings on the wooden platform were an overseen hazard.
Inwardly shaking her head, Cyrielle urged herself to hurry. Having returned from summer vacation which consisted her sitting in her room, entertaining herself with the new skills she learned at Mythica. She tried showing her brother too, but he continued to fidget away from her. There was no point talking to her parents about it; especially when they decided to go to the beach without her. Oh well, more time to herself. It was nice house watching for them. She was able to sleep in and do almost anything she wanted as long as it didn't harm the house itself. After attending Mythica for a year or so, she had been able to control her powers a bit more. It still didn't help her loathing her own power. She needed and wanted something to blame; something had to be the reason why everything at "home" wasn't turning out as she wanted it to be. It was annoying, frustrating and all Mythica's fault. Maybe her parents would have kept her and learned that not all mutants were mean and bad as other said. After finding out about Mythica from wherever, the decision was automatic and she was sent away. This made Mythica her source of anger and hate and the reason why she decided to join Dusk.
Previously, she had been neutral to the decision. Dawn seemed promising. Their intentions were good...too good to her anyway. They reminded her of superheroes form a comic book that sat on their side. Were they really all that good? Sometimes, the hero's means were a bit...unheroic or their ends were just...strange and a bit selfish. Oh well, it was human to be selfish right? Now, could she really consider herself human? For a long time, she figured herself to just be a weak little girl who sat inside playing with computers or reading books. It never occurred to her that the reason people where getting shocked was because of her until much later or a bit too late. Now, she wasn't really sure about herself. She hated what she became, but accepted it. If she could take it away, Cyrielle was sure that she wouldn't mind having her powers taken away. Maybe then, her parents would accept her. For now, she was stuck with stupid electricity powers that liked to go berserk every once in a while and were only help when an appliance was losing electricity.
"Ah, here it is," she said as she arrived to the dorm. Was she a day too late? Would she get punished. Oh well, it's not like my parents would really care right? Hmm...but they should, shouldn't they? For once they were acting...nice and parent-ly or something. Her mind rewound her last few nights with her adopted family while her hand folded the map back up and slid it into her pocket and reached back out with a key in her hand. Cyrielle slipped it into the door hole and unlocked it before allowing herself in. As soon as she finished unpacking, Cyrielle decided to explore the grounds and hopefully run into a few vaguely familiar faces. A set of faded orange headphones wrapped around her neck like a scarf and connected themselves to a hidden mp3 player within her jacket pocket. Her pants wrapped around dark heeled boots that helped keep her arm in the upcoming winter cold. As she walked, her mind began to move towards her "allegiance". What was she going to do as a new Dusk member? Who was in dusk? She knew that they were a secret alliance and couldn't really go around asking anyone. Then a thought hit her: she just needed to find the leader. ...but who was that? Curse my bad memory! I wasn't even paying attention when all of this happened... she thought with a frustrated sigh. Making her way out of the dorms, Cyrielle leaned back against a nearby building and stared up at the sky.

"JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES, JUST DREAM."
The young woman's eyes clenched tighter, unknown to her, as her mind subconsciously rejected to outside noise. Where she was, where she lay at the current moment on the grassy plains of a hill she only knew by memory, was not an actual place. It was in the way that Channer had been there multiple times, during her daydreaming sessions, during her momentary lapses into her memories, during her dreams at night...but never physically. As real as the sound of the flowing stream sounded, white foamy water vacillating back and forth against almost pearl-smooth rocks, as real as the ground felt beneath her soft white palms, this place did not exist outside of Channer's mind. And it made sense once you thought about it. How could a place where her brother existed be real? Channer had lived without Keith long enough to know that the only difference between the real world and this place, at least aesthetically, was that in this place Keith and Channer could spend time together. It wasn't the same companionship you might find from a schoolmate, or a parent, or even a sibling although that's what Keith was to Channer. One might consider it more like the relationship between and aesthete and the Mona Lisa. As many questions as the fan of the picture may want to ask, he or she will never get to voice them. And even if they were to voice them, it's not as if the picture would respond.
This is what it was like between Keith and Channer now. During this time they spent together on the hillside which seemed to float in a dimension of its own, surrounded by velvety, somewhat-suffocating darkness, Channer would stare at her brother's profile and count down the minutes until he would start to fade away. He never really looked at her straight in the face, unless it was to say "I feel greater than ever", which was the last memory Channer had of him speaking to her. This one-way street of a conversation, in which Channer tried to convey all the feelings she had for her brother to him, wasn't ideal but it was what Channer had to work with. It was the only time she had with her brother, and the fact that her memory could conjure it up so effectively almost everytime she closed her eyes was astounding. The times spent there however had grown to be bittersweet. She was tired of having to watch her brother fade away from the feet up, his cyan colored eyes the last things to go. Every day she searched for a way of immortalizing those few moments before the disappearing began, but her chases always proved fruitless in the end. Still Channer would never give up the memory, never eliminate it from her mind because it was her only way of being with him...even if she wasn't actually with him.
And that was why she didn't appreciate it when outside noises interrupted her alone time with Keith.
"JUST DREAM, OF ME."
Couldn't it see that was what she was trying to do? The noise was persistent, forcing its way through the barriers of Channer's mind, penetrating the dimension and disrupting the flow of life there. The river began to roar, soft trickling long forgotten now. The grass seemed to grow and become truculent in its efforts to scratch and claw away at Channer's soft skin. The sky, normally a complaisant dark blue began to swirl and mix into a menacing black, the white specks for stars shutting off one by one in rapid succession. Despite having seen this scene played out for her many times before, Channer still felt her heart begin to race, her eyes crinkle in dismay as she realized what was happening. She didn't need to turn around and look at Keith to know he was already fading, but she did it anyways. More than half of his body was already gone.
"Brother...!,"
Channer's voice was faint and the loud sound of the river rising to meet the cliff drowned it out. She wanted to reach forward and grab onto whatever was left of her brother but her hand refused to move. It was as if her body already knew it would do no good and was thusly disobeying her neural motor system. Imprisoned by disillusionment, Channer was forced to watch the last of her brother go, and along with him her whole reality.
"SPRING MORNING RAIN!"
The noise jerked Channer up and out of her sleep-induced stupor, her head nearly bumping against the top of the hutch of her desk, where she kept all of her books concerning computing, her video games for said computer, and any relevant cd's. She also kept her musical albums there too, although she didn't use a walkman or CD-player. She had an iPod touch named Faerie, but didn't quite believe in pirating music and thus had a bunch of CD's from the various artists and bands she enjoyed listening to. Rubbing the side of her head slowly, her thin fingers messing up her soft and mussed hair, Channer blinked her ashe gray eyes open. It took her a few seconds to register where the noise that had woken her up was coming from but then she realized it was her iPod alarm she had set to wake her up for the Dawn meeting.
That had been going off for about half an hour now...
"Cripes!" Channer exclaimed as she scrambled up to get some decent clothes on. She had fallen asleep at her desk again writing, which wasn't uncommon for her. In anticipation of this she had set her alarm but somehow managed to sleep through it! "Buggering hell if I miss this meeting...," The girl mumbled as she yanked open her closet door to grab an outfit for wearing. Normally this would have all been planned out but Channer's delinquency seemed to mass-effect this morning, seeing has she hadn't prepared at all. The more she thought about it the more annoyed Channer became with herself so she decided to focus her mind on less heavy thoughts, such as what she was wearing.
The faint clicking and pittering of ice on the window from outside notified Channer that it was indeed snowing, so a tank-top and highwaters were out of the question. Shoving past those in her closet Channer happened upon some longer-sleeved turtlenecks, which seemed much more suited for the weather. Pulling out an aqua colored one, she grabbed a pair of thick-knit leggings and one of the numerous ruffled skirts she owned to go along with it. She didn't have much time to change so she would have to make it quick. Looking around subconsciously, Channer noticed that Natalie wasn't in the dorm yet, either. Natalie was supposed to be her roommate, and was a shapeshifter of sorts from what Channer had read on the roommate form. She didn't know if she and Natalie had any classes yet but she did know that she was a part of the Dawn alliance, so they would definitely be working together in the future. Tugging up the skirt over her hips, Channer finished putting on the last of her clothing. Ambling over towards her clunky combat boots, Channer heard a funny little vibrating noise against hard wood, which a narrowed glance revealed to be her cellphone ringing. One boot on, the other in hand Channer half-walked, half-limped over to the device to see that she had received two new text messages.
<333
Nate
The message was simple, frighteningly so for someone who claimed to fancy Channer but the girl wouldn't have asked for more anyways. She new that Nathan wasn't one to express voluminous amounts of love to any one specific person and the mere fact that they were going out was enough to make a smile grace the delicate features of the young woman's face. Quickly, she texted back.
Morning to you too, lovey. D'ya think it possible we could meet up later? I'm busy right now but we ought to chill while we've got the free time...
Channer
Pausing a moment to re-read what she wrote for any typographical errors, Channer reluctantly pressed send. She didn't want to seem too overbearing for Nathan to get scared or anything of her. She just wanted to spend time with him today. Exhaling shortly, Channer pursed her lips and went on to the next message, which turned out to be from Ivy.
I don't where YOU are, but I'M down by the lake waiting for members. Let me know when you're ready to initiate part two, ASAP.
Oh. And good morning.
Ivy
The smile on Channer's face morphed into a wry grin, her lips pursing every so slightly as the corners of her eyes crinkled with humor. Of course that was Ivy, early as possible and already waiting. It was up to her and Channer this year to make sure Mythica stayed standing, with the help of the other dawn members, and of course, the headmaster. Channer reminded her self that need to meet with him later on too, to discuss the limits Dawn members have where-concerning their efforts to defend Mythica and how they can go about discovering Dusk members. Just the thought of Dusk had Channer frowning, her thinly drawn eyebrows furrowing ever so slightly. She wasn't excited about having to fight her fellow classmates but she was intrigued by war in general, battle tactics being her specialty. That's what the meeting today would be about, really. Ivy and she had made plans to divide up Dawn according to their powers, in hopes that they could help everyone train on what they needed to work on most. Ivy had already gotten the plan for today started, but part two relied heavily on Channer, who had yet to assume position. Looking down briefly to tug on her other boot, Channer decided that it was time she got up and showed everyone just what Dawn was really made of.
It didn't take her more than a few seconds to grab her messenger bag and stuff all of her important mobile items into it, like money, her cellphone, Faerie and her walking journals. She doubted she'd do much writing today outside considering it was so damn cold outside but it always helped to have them. Tugging on her waterpoof knee-length coat, the one with the silver buckles around the waist, wrists and chest, Channer made sure she wasn't forgetting anything before leaving. Oh right! A note for Natalie, who ought to have known why Channer wasn't in the room but just in case she was wondering. Channer scrambled over to her immaculately organized desk and ripped off a blue-colored post-it, onto which she scribbled a few words and then stuck onto Natalie's pillow, which had yet to be covered in a case yet considering the girl hadn't even arrived yet. She would have to see it once she came in and started to unpack.
All of that done, Channer paused for a moment, as she contemplated whether or not she should just take the stairs instead of teleporting like she usually did. Punctuality called for the quicker form of transport, so after sucking in a deep breath, Channer reached forward with her right arm in order to claw open the main portal of dimensions. The fabric of time itself ripped open to reveal a gaping hole of swirling null space and further down a wall of what seemed to be autonomously moving pictures or videos. So as not to lose any momentum in the process, Channer quickly stepped inside. To anyone else watching it would have seemed like Channer stepped forward and then vanished into thin air. The reaction between the closing of the two worlds often gave off a bright light that only lasted for about a tenth of a second, so it would seem as if Channer just poofed into a flash of white light. Unbeknownst to anyone who was not a worldwalker, Channer was now in the area known as null space or just the limins one enters when changing dimensions. In the form of visual memories, Channer had in front of her an array of dimensions to chose from, all sort of tacked up to an invisible wall of sorts. The row of dimensions continued down away from Channer, the little flashy pictures getting smaller and smaller as they disappeared in the distance. The one Channer wanted however, was actually pretty close to her. Just a little bit taller than her, the image of a forest and the not-so-far-away distance a purplish-black lake hung. That was the space of time that Channer wanted to occupy so she merely reached forward to unlock it. The moment her fore and middle fingers graced it the image expanded, elongating and widening into the shape of a doorway so that Channer could step through. The light from the magic illuminated the girls pale skin as she transferred realities.
The first thing she noticed was how cold it was.
"Bugger it's freezing hell out here...," Channer mumbled, instinctively pulling her extremities close to her core as she stumbled forward a bit, trying to fully grasp her surroundings. The snow seemed to have gotten worse, but from where Channer stood (underneath the canopy of rather large Evergreen) she was shielded mostly from the weather's wrath. She didn't have enhanced eyesight or anything so she couldn't tell so well, but in the distance there were a few people clumped together by the lake. If Channer assumed right, Ivy and some of the gang. Whipping out her cellphone, Channer texted Ivy.
I'm here now, Ivy. In position and waiting for people to be sent. Remember now, only two at a time like we discussed. And for Heaven's sakes, tell them to be discreet.
Channer
Sending off the message, Channer resigned herself to lean against the tree in a manner that would conceal her well from prying Dusk eyes. All around her were trees much like this one and Channer hoped that in her dark clothing she would camouflauge well. The last thing she wanted was unnecessary attention from the enemy, that was for sure.

It wasn’t long after Ivy sent Channer the text message, that her yellow eyes detected something in the distance gliding towards her. Instinctively, she stiffened as if getting ready to defend herself if necessary, but she soon relaxed. Although she couldn’t really identify the suspicious figure in the cloak gliding across the lake towards her, there was really only one person in Mythica (at least one person in Mythica Ivy knew of) who could do that, and that was Cadence, or Luna, or Aqua, or whatever she was calling herself. In all honestly, although Ivy had no exact opinion of Cadence, she didn’t like the fact that the girl was hiding her real abilities, or in Ivy’s eyes, lying to everyone. In a place like Mythica, where everyone had someone who made them special, there wasn’t really a need for it unless Cadence somehow believed her own abilities to be a step above anyone else’s. A sigh escaped the Green-headed teen’s mouth. This was a habit of her’s that had gone on long enough, yet she wasn’t truly sure she had any want or need to stop it. Ivy was such a picky and selective person. To her, everyone was under constant scrutiny and for this reason very few actually made it to be considered friend worthy. There was nothing wrong with Cadence, but this was what Ivy did. She found something to hate in a person, and although she did have the ability to over look whatever flaw she discovered for awhile, it would ultimately be impossible to ignore and the subject of her judging gaze would have do do something good to get her to respect them at all.
After a couple of seconds, the one-sided staring match Ivy had with Cadence as she crossed the lake came to an end, as Cadence hit shore, her feet, regardless, continuing to hover less than an inch of the snowy ground. Ivy had to admit, the ability to hover, or was a pretty useful thing, especially in this weather. Subconsciously she wriggled her toes in her snow boots. They were warm… for now anyway. Once again, Ivy glanced down towards her cell phone. 10:15 on the dot.
“Luna’s reporting for duty.”
Suspiciously, Ivy raised an eyebrow. Okay, so Cadence was Luna today. She’d remember that. Hesitantly, as if holding her tongue for a moment, she looked down out of Cadence’s silvery gaze and licked her own chilled lips. How disgusting that she had forgotten her chapstick, but there was nothing she could do about it now besides lick her lips or let the crack, and bloody lips were out of the question, so she dampened quickly and looked back up, yellow eyes clashing with silver.
“Good to know.” Ivy’s response was quick, hints of sarcasm sprinkled finely on each word. She took a deep breath and exhaled, her breath creating a small cloud before her face before disappearing as she glanced around quickly looking for intruders or other dawn members. She wasn’t exactly sure how many Channer could teleport at a time, but she also didn’t want to send Cadence on her own. Ivy after all, had to wait for the rest of Dawn before going to meet Channer. She grimaced, realizing that if someone decided not to show up, it would cost her the meeting. With that knowledge she was just aching to start texting people, but aside from that. She had to continue talking to Cadence. This was the decoy Dawn meeting. If she just stood there and stared as she always seemed to, any unwanted eavesdropper was bound to know something was up, which Ivy wouldn’t risk.
“A word for the wise.” She said gazing over Cadence's shoulder, not making eye contact as she spoke (not to be rude, but to keep an eye out.) “As a student, I think I would be more put off if I saw someone walking around campus in a dark cloak to hide there identity, than if I saw a regular student looking as if they were enjoying there day off outside.” Harsh? A bit, but Ivy didn’t take much notice, leaning in closer to Cadence her voice lowered and softened, although it kept its formal, business like composure, “When someone else comes, I’m give you the directions to meet Channer. Until then, we’re going to act as if this is the Dawn meeting. For all I know no one's around but I'd rather not risk that.” She leaned back, tossing her long green hair over her shoulder. “It bothers me that more people didn’t arrive on time. You’d think this type of thing would be higher on one’s list of priorities… don’t you agree?”
Whether her statement was to tell prying eyes that this was the Dawn meeting or not, it seemed as if someone had managed to enter on cue. There was a slight rustle amongst the tree branches, before Altair the groundskeeper emerged onto the lakefornt and greeted her. Ivy gave the man a curt nod, not planning to say anything until he added onto his greeting:
"I had forgotten that I had been informed of the meeting, but luckily your Other came and stalked me until I consented to come."
Had Ivy been a normal girl, that statement would have earned an honest laugh, or at least a smile. However, it left Ivy slightly unsure of herself. She only had a vague idea of each Dawn member's powers, no idea whatsoever of the specifics, and because of that she didn’t exactly know what an Other was. She didn’t even know if everyone had an Other, or if her having one made her special in some way. And what was she supposed to do now? Thank her Other? It would be weird saying “Thank you” to open space, as she didn’t couldn’t see Others, and had not even the slightest idea where her Other was standing at the moment. Or was her Other already aware of her silent thanks? She had no idea, and thus decided not to say anything at all towards her Other.
“My Other should not have had to come and gather you in the first place.” She said, her words oddly enough lacking any coldness or animosity as her words usually did. They weren’t warm, friendly, or comical persay either. They were just still, and undaunting. Glancing around again to find intruders, she opened her mouth to speak, but swiftly stopped upon feeling a vibration coming from her hand. Of course. It was the phone she was still palming lightly. Assuming it was Channer, Ivy held up a single finger with her empty hand as if to say “just a moment” before pressing the green button on the electronic and watching as her newly received text message opened on the screen.
“Well, its good to know that the two of you are here. For headcounts… you know, we’re making sure everyone has gotten back from break safely. You don’t need to stay. I’ll just tell Channer I saw you. It’s funny…” She looked over west, the direction in which Channer stood, about 100 feet away. “I’m a bit of a plant nut for obvious reasons… but there’s a tree some distance that way that’s blossoming out of season. It’ll die if no one does anything so I’m gonna have to fix it next time I'm free… it's really pretty though and you should go check it out before that.” Ivy knew she was no actress, and for that reasons her little hint as to where Channer stood waiting to take the Dawn members to the real meeting was a tad less than subtle. For that reason same reason though, she expected them to get the hint immediately, and to go off to meet the Dawn leader. In the meantime, she would stand in the cold and wait for more members...

Altair shook his head, and laughed quietly at this. Ivy and her Other had almost spoken in sync. He had forgotten the meeting, so being reminded had been necessary. However, the man didn't say anything, and let the topic rest. He was out numbered after all.
“Hey, Altair.”
Altair looked over at the other student, who knew his name, although he had no knowledge of hers. It was always strange when things like this happened, but as groundskeeper, students often knew his name although he had never met them, or them him. "Good morning. I apologize, but I haven't had the chance to learn your name..."
'Luna,' the girl's Other whispered, and Altair took this to be the girl's name, and placed it on the end of his sentence.
"Luna."
Ivy checked her phone, and then began explaining what Altair had been called to the lake shore, although in a round-about manner. Altair was perfectly content to play along, and he would place money on him doing a better job of stringing the Dusk along than Ivy. For, after all, he had much reason to care for a sick tree, being the school's groundskeeper.
"Oh, that is a shame. I was unaware of that. It shouldn't be blossoming in the middle of the winter. Thank you for telling me, Ivy. I'll see what I can do about it, and check some of the other trees, as well. I'll inform you if any other ones are also blooming out of season." Altair paused and looked over to where Ivy had indicated. "It should be easy to spot. You can just stay here and wait for more Dawn members. Well, I shall take my leave. Luna?"
Altair glanced back at Luna, with a curious glance, as if asking whether she was going to join the man or not. After a moment's wait, Altair headed off to the fringes of the forest, in search of the blooming tree. He wondered if the tree was just a ploy, or if the girl (who he was sure had some sort of plant-related powers) had actually coaxed a tree to bloom out of season. Altair hoped that she had, for it would make finding the place they were going easier, and it would be quite beautiful to see a blooming tree at this time of year. Little blossoms peaking out of snow-capped branches... Altair's mind drifted slightly as he walked through the dusting of snow that managed to find it's way to the forest floor.
Altair shook his head as he came back to the present. He looked over his shoulder to see if Lua was still following him. He wondered how long it would take to find the tree, or if they were finding a tree at all. It was all very complicated. However, it was only a minute later that Alrair spotted what they had been looking for, or what he assumed they were looking for.
Channer, the Dawn's current leader, was standing against a tree, her phone in her hand, apparently waiting for something. Channer's Other was standing beside her, looking around the forest, for what Altair assumed was them. He was proven right as the Other spotted them, and waved a greeting. Channer's Other was one that Altair was already acquainted with, having talked to her a few times before. "Good morning," Altair greeted Channer's Other, and then nodded a greeting to Channer herself.
Sadly, looking around, there was no tree blooming out of season, and Altair felt slightly disappointed.
