Skye noticed the girls face turn into a frown as she had asked the girl for help. And then it dawned on her that she hadn't even let her know that she was her roommate. She shook her head to try to wake herself up. Maybe that was the issue, maybe she was half asleep or something. There couldn't really be any other reason why she was messing up everything she said. "I'm your roommate." She gave a warm smile in hopes that the girl would just skip over her mistake. "Room two hundred twenty eight. Is that right?" The frown the girl had given was a little intimidating, even to Skye. She tried to avoid eye contact with her as she spoke. "All of my bags are in the hall outside the room, so I need to get back there fairly soon...I'm not sure how this school is with theft..." Her voice slowly drowned out wondering if that was necessary to say. This school was pretty fancy, so now maybe they'd think she was from the ghetto or something. Great. She thought. I'm making sure that tomorrow is a better day for me...this is getting ridiculous. Whatever, just play it off.

OOC: Sorry, I didn't notice any room numbers assigned to anyone so I just made one up, if theres any issues just say so.

Life's too short...

Jingle, jingle... Clink!

It took some effort, but the deed was finally done. Hayato had FINALLY managed to lock his bike up properly. He let out a sigh of relief, satisfied with his accomplishment. "Hah! Let's see anyone jack my ride now!" The comment wasn't directed to anyone in particular, but Hayato felt the need to declare his confidence. The young man had been unfortunate enough to have his bike stolen multiple times last term. Thinking about it now, Hayato wondered if someone had a grudge against him. His bike wasn't all that special anyways, and he found it abandoned down by the riverbed last time... Perhaps someone wanted revenge against him, or something?

Nah. Couldn't be. Hayato didn't have that many enemies here. Heck, why would he? The young man shrugged and slung his knapsack over his shoulder. Today would be the student's first day back, wouldn't it? Hayato ruffled his shaggy blonde hair, wondering what the new term had in store. On his way to the dorms, he recognized multiple people. Most of them stopped to exchange pleasantries; The typical "How was your break?", and such. A few maladjusted students glared in response to Hayato's friendly greetings, but that was to be expected. A lot of these kids didn't even want to be here. I suppose I can't blame them, Hayato thought to himself. I bet most of them didn't even have a choice.

A shrug helped cast away that slightly depressing thought. With a confident smile, Hayato made his way down to the dorms. Opening up the door, it seemed that his roommate either hadn't arrived yet, or was doing something else around the campus. Eh, that didn't matter. The young man set down his knapsack near one of the beds with a loud clunk. The noise sounded strange to Hayato, for some reason... In fact, it almost sounded like there was a book inside. Aw, hell... Did I seriously forget to return that thing!? Hayato kicked himself mentally. After scrounging through his bag to retrieve his long overdue book, the young man recklessly exited his room and made his way towards the library. "Make way, comin' through!"

When the girl stated that she was her roommate, Ayako felt as if a lightbulb had just flicked on in her head. "Oh!" Closing her book, she stood up from the sofa. The girl was taller than her, give or take a few inches. "It's nice to meet you!" she exclaimed with a bright smile. Wow, she didn't expect to meet her roommate in the library of all places. Folding her hands on top of each other, she extended her upper body forward into a light bow. When asked if their room was 228, Ayako nodded with affirmation. "Yes, that's it." She then widened her eyes a little. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" she cried. Personally, she'd never witnessed any theft around the school, but that didn't mean it didn't happen. As she started to walk out of the library with the girl, she said with an embarrassed grin, "I feel bad that you know my name yet I don't know yours. What's your name?"

When they arrived at the girls' dorms, Ayako led the girl towards their room. Like the girl said, there were bags sitting outside in the hallway near the door to their room. Taking out her key card, Ayako swiped it, then used her telekinetic ability to push the door open. "There you go!" she said.

Jessica's eyes fluttered open as the beams of the sun shun through the gaps of the curtain. Her pet ferret, Jin, came up to her. She smiled slightly, then gently petted the ferret. She sat up, and headed over to the closet. She put on a random a matching outfit, then put on a pair of shoes. She let the ferret climb onto her shoulder, but she put Jin back down. The ferret almost saddened a bit, but then it just went onto Jessica's bed. She exited out of the dorm, and closed the door behind her. She's already been living the dorm for awhile now. She came early.

She took her iPod Touch, and put in the earplugs while turning it on. As she was walking out of the building she passed a dorm, and she felt a sort of calm, yet a bit annoyed presence. She just ignored it, and headed outside. The buildings door closed behind her. She felt no emotions, nor see anyone. She played a different Playlist, and she started to hum to herself. Slowly, she began to sing to herself. She sat down at a nearby bench, and just listened to the music. And singing to herself, but didn't notice.

Life's too short...

After quite literally bursting through the library doors, Hayato came to a stop at the librarian's desk. Breathing heavily from the run, the young man set down his overdue book; It was a Shounen manga, to be more exact. Not exactly high-class intellectual reading material, but it certainly gave Hayato something to do on boring weekends. "S-sorry... *gasp* It totally slipped my mind... *pant* To return this..." The young man struggled to catch his breath, barely able to gasp out his words. "It's not... *pant* Too late... *wheeze* Is it?"

"No talking in the library." The librarian looked up at Hayato and almost sneered. She examined the book before looking back to the blonde young man. "I recall you checking this out last semester. If you had no intention of returning it, you should have just held onto it. No one else reads this garbage, anyways." Flipping to the back page, the librarian pulled out the manga's timecard and adjusted her glasses. "The overdue fee will cost you 1700 yen. I trust you came prepared?"

With a quiet sigh, Hayato took out his wallet and forked over a large chunk of his money. The librarian then quietly scolded him for causing such a disruption in the library before shooing him away. With nothing else to do for now, Hayato decided to choose another book to read. Browsing the shelves, he didn't notice anything eye-catching... Until his eyes met with a pile of books on the floor, along with a dark-haired girl kneeling down to pick them up. Deciding to put his browsing aside for now, Hayato approached her and knelt down as well. "Need some help?" He spoke as quietly as he could, flashing the girl a warm smile before looking down to grab a few of the books.

Kuri knelt to pick up the pile of books, one by one, making sure they would be placed in the right order as before she had taunted with it's system. Thankfully, no one had taken upon themselves to see what the commotion was about, so she could quickly clean up and be on her way, hiding into the shadows of the school. Something she would much rather prefer. "Rudolph" she read as the author name, and slipped it behind a couple of other books on the shelf. She wanted to make sure it was perfect. The girl didn't have much sympathy and compassion for people, so when it came to something she cared about, like books, she could be as humble as she wanted. Just as she looked down to pick up another book, the glimpse of golden hair caught her eye, and she instantly froze. Someone was next to her. Bringing her gaze, she took notice of a slim male, offering his help. She stopped motionless, giving him nothing but a blank stare as her proceeded to help with the books. So, she did cause a ruckus, hm? Usually, back at her old school, people stayed far away from Kuri, aware of her horrid attitude. But she had to remember that this wasn't her old school, and know one really knew her.

                                    Yet.

Snapping back to her reality, she said not a word to him but simply nodded her head, and slid the books back onto the shelves. It was a nice gesture for him, but he was a stranger to her, and Kuri wasn't fond of help from strangers. But it was an issue she would need to work out. Before the boy even let a book hit the shelf, she stopped him with a comment. "Make sure you put them in alphabetical order by author's name. I don't want the librarian to have to sort out my mess." she said in a hushed tone, and went on with the shelving. As she stuffed one of the last books onto the shelf, she felt the need to give the boy a proper salutation. Something of gratitude. But Kuri wasn't really one to express herself that way. "Uhm, thank you." she turned to him, nodding her head in appreciation. "For helping me put the books away." she added, managing a small smile.

Life's too short...

Alphabetical order. Right. That shouldn't be too hard. Hayato paused for a moment, but nodded in acknowledgement soon after. Alphabetical order... Holy crap, a lot of these guys had seriously confusing names. Hayato had trouble pronouncing foreign names, like Franz Kafka for instance. Most of these books were completely alien to him. 'Gone with the Wind'? The young man mouthed the title, feeling a little intimidated by the thickness of the book.

After a little struggling, Hayato managed to put up his share of the fallen books in the correct order. God forbid anyone should have to endure the wrath of Fukushima's librarian. Turning back to the dark-haired girl, he smiled and began to turn to walk away, but the girl spoke before he could depart.

...Wait, 'thank you'? Those words surprised Hayato a bit. His face reddened slightly, the young man extremely grateful for even the slightest gratitude he might receive. It wasn't like he just solved this girl's life problems, but somehow Hayato couldn't help but feel a little proud. "Naw, no problem." He smiled sheepishly, keeping his voice low. The dark-haired girl was definitely attractive. For some stupid reason, Hayato felt nervous. What should I say? I wonder if she thinks I'm some creepy dude trying to hit on her, or something... The young man mentally shook away his hesitant thoughts. He was thinking way too far into this. The least he could do is tell the girl his name. "My name's Ishikawa Hayato. I know the library isn't the best place to talk, but..." He smiled, making a slight shrugging gesture. "Mind if I ask what your name is?"

She hadn't finished it, but more people had arrived in the library, and their thoughts filled her mind. She stood up, book in hand, and went to go return it to its rightful place. A few people were chatting in the general area of the books, and Rin pushed through them to return the book to the place. "Excuse me," She muttered, bowing, before she headed back to her table. And sitting down, waiting for her brother to come busting through the door any second. Her head rested on the table, as she kept a watchful eye on the door. After a few minutes, her brother came waltzing in. She stood up, and walked over to him, her arm on his sleeve. "Onii-chan, I missed you" She said, giving him a blank stare. "Yeah yeah," He said, smiling while patting the young girl on the head. She yawned, and let go of his sleeve, going back to the table. "Where have you been," She asked him, as he sat down next to her, a smile on his face. "Oh, y'know," The librarian frowned, and made a shushing sound. Rin frowned and put her head on the table, closing her eyes. Kei yawned, standing up. He went over to the books and grabbed a manga. The he sat back down at the table.

Kuri was pleased that he was able to accept her abundance. It obviously wasn't his fault, nor did he need to help in any way. It did, however, tick her off, because in it's own way, it was imploding on her life, and she didn't like the thought of that. On the other hand, she did noticed his cheeks shed a warm glow after she thanked him, for an odd reason, but she wasn't sure why. Was it normal for boys to blush? Hands behind her back, she let the silence come about, making the scene a more akward than hoped. Then, like a light in her head, her mind had sort of an...epiphany. No, not really. But someone was thinking of her. Letting her eyes fall on the blonde boy in front of her, she mentally scanned his thoughts, her face and name appearing in them. And his voice rang in her head: What should I say? I wonder if she thinks I'm some creepy dude trying to hit on her, or something... Instantly, her eyes widened a bit at the thought. Someone thought she was attractive? No, it was obviously a mistake. Basing his feelings on first meetings is horrible when your put in front of Kuri Hitsumi. She was no picnic in the park to people. More of a rain on a parade. She wasn't a particularly preferred friend back where she used to live and school. Surely, when the boy actually knows that how she is now if basically what her life consists of, he would leave. Run, even. Nonetheless, she refrained from letting her cheeks burn at the knowing of his thoughts, and let him continue with greeting and question. He was right, it wasn't the best place to talk. But before she even wanted to answer, she glanced around them for a moment, noticing no one, and gently grabbed hold of his shirt, gently tugging him along with her as she made her way right outside the library doors. "It's nice to meet you, Ishikawa." she said, slightly bowing her head. He was, after all, a stranger. "I'm Kuri Hitsumi. One of the new students." she added. "Sorry for dragging you out, but like you said, the library wasn't the best place to talk."

Life's too short...

Another surprise met with Ishikawa as the girl grabbed him by the shirt and led him outside of the library. He almost spoke up, but decided against it. The library was a little too stuffy anyways, so this was a good call. Hayato stretched his arms, looking up at the sky. The girl then bowed slightly, introducing herself.

Kuri Hitsumi, huh? He would have to remember that. "Nice to meet you too, Hitsumi-san." Out of habit, Hayato gave her a small waving gesture. The young man wasn't too fond of formalities, but he was by no means unfriendly. Plus, now that he was out of the library, he felt less restricted; It would be easier to act like his normal self now, even if Kuri was just a stranger. So she's new, huh? I wonder what kinda power she has. The thought of Hitsumi being a mind-reader hadn't crossed his mind, at least not yet. He felt that it might be rude to just straight-out ask her, seeing as some people might be uncomfortable talking about their... 'Gifts'. "If the other students haven't already said it a thousand times, welcome to Fukushima!" Normally, Hayato never got to meet many new students. Even if he did, they'd just be shuffled off to different classes, and he'd never see them again. Thinking about it, Hayato wondered if Kuri would end up the same way. Just another stranger, like all the others. "Heh. I guess I might seem kinda weird for just coming up outta the blue," Hayato ran a hand through his hair, giving Kuri a sincere smile. "But I didn't want you to have to pick those books up by yourself."

"Oh right, I guess I forgot to give you my name didn't I?...Skye. My name is Skye Valor." She introduced herself, giving a large bow, then forwarded to walking into the room. As she gave a quick look around her eyes widened in amazement. Wow! This might actually be cool. These rooms are way better than I had thought. A bathroom?...and here I thought there'd be one in the hall for a floor to share...Then again, I suppose this entire buildings alot more fancy than I thought it would be. "Telekinesis huh? That's pretty cool. Ya know I've been wondering something for a while. Do you think everyone is born with a power and only certain people learn how to use them, or is it just certain people who are born with them?" Skye had said, half talking to herself, half talking to ayako. At least she seems friendly. "So umm, did you want to do anything? I mean I don't have any friends here or anything 'cause I'm new. I'm pretty free right now. She gave a warm smile and spoke in the best japanese she could. She had been living here for 4 years now and could speak fluent japanese, but she still had a bit of an accent.

"Hmm..." Ayako contemplated her answer. "I think it's just certain people who are born with them. Kind of like Harry Potter. Not everyone is born with magical powers. Those that don't are usually Muggles or Squibs or Muggles descended from Squibs," she explained, using a popular worldwide children's series as an example. Then with a shrug, she added, "I could be wrong, though."

When asked if she wanted to do anything, Ayako said, "Well, I was thinking about heading on back to the library. I have some books that I want to check out. Afterwards, I'll show you around the school since you're new." She thought she'd at least give Skye a brief tour of the school and show her where everything is.

User ImageThe seductive hiss of charring tickled the woman's ears as she leisurely took in a puff of her cigarette and the bits of ash casually fell on her chest. She fluttered her provocative eyes and let the smoke curl around her tongue almost as though it were forked, then teased the air with the wisps of the nicotine only to pull it back in through her bewitching nose.

Kakinna suddenly felt a shudder of disturbance in the perfect silence: Some blonde chick was humming on a bench. She scowled and released her used smoke in a perturbed exhale, no longer in the mood to toy with it. Whatever. She had stuff to do or something anyway.

Kakinna slithered over to the bench with an irresistable finesse and leaned over the back rest with her arms crossed, her left hand still clutching the taunt-whispering cigarette. She tilted her head toward the girl and couldn't help raised an eyebrow - this one had some cleavage on her, didn't she? Kakinna snapped her tongue at the hummer to get her attention as she brought the cigarette back up to her mouth "Hey, Tits, y'know some chick named 'Jessica Choi'?"

""Yeah? Whatever, Tits - if you were so sensitive about it you wouldn't show em off to the world like that, now would you?" Kikanna gestured at Tits's cleavage with what remained of her toxic stub, then swallowed in the last puff as the flames flickered through her fingertips. "Well if you see the b***h, tell her this red-headed vixen is looking for her. I need to get in my room" She whispered into Tits' ear, allowing the smog to seep from her mouth and over the girl's face as she did so.

Kakinna walked her free hand along the top of the bench and circled around it to the doors of the academy, then glanced back at the hopeless loser "Cya in there, Tits" she taunted with a twitch of flirtation, winking suggestively and licking her lips to complete the effect. With that she rolled her eyes and decided passively that, like the smoke, she was done playing with this chick. She rolled the remains of her cigarette into the tip of her fingers and flicked it straight towards the Tits' lap as if to 'your nothing but trash', and with that she was gone. No door slam, no shuffle - it was as if she had just ghosted straight through the entrance.
