Shiori

Chaya
Shiori skipped into the forest, vowing to never try to commit suicide again. As she ran through bushes and shrubs, her ears pricked up with wonder as she heard a strange noise. It sounded like a young girl crying, the sound so depressing to ignore. Shiori turned around and found a white haired child, probably 5-6 years old, clinging to her chest. "P-p-pwease help me! I'm scared!" She pleaded, her tears soaking Shiori's winter komono. Shiori lightly tapped the stranger's forehead and breathed in, using her abilities to see who exactly this cute child was. "
A, a soul keeper... just like me... Sweetie why are you so frightened? There are no beasts in Pumpkin Academy's forest grounds," Shiori asked softly, stroking the girl's silky pure hair. "M-mommy and Daddy were humans. They couldn't defend t-themselves fwom the soul-eaters... I WANT TO GO SEE THEM UP THERE!!" she cried, looking up at Shiori's face and then at the pale blue sky as if waiting to float up and away into her parents arms. The kitsune smiled a bit, a tear rolling down her cheek. "Ah, you are a rare type, not only soul keeper but having mortal parents. Whst is your name?" Shiori asked, wiping the tears off of the younger soul keeper's eyes. "My name is Chaya..." she whispered as she began to slowly stop weeping. (Chaya sounds like "Hi-ya!" but the "Hi" is gutteral) "Well Chaya, I'm Shiori. I know the way you feel, sweetie. Chaya means life. I think your parents wanted you to live, just like mine..." the kitsune soul keeper whispered, smiling and taking Chaya's little hand. "Tell me Chaya, do you have a home?" Shiori asked, leading the lonely child to the front of her cottage. "N-no my home was destwoyed b-by the soul-eaters..." she sighed sadly as Shiori led her into the cottage and sat her down on a soft bed. "Well Chaya, I want you to call me your sister for now. You are a special girl with immortal powers... like me..." Shiori whispered, a few tears rolling down her cheeks. "Oh! I would love that!" the younger soul keeper laughed though tears kept falling. She ran into Shiori's arms and hugged her tightly. "What a beautiful soul keeper... I'm all she's got now though..." the kitsune thought as she took Chaya by the hand and lead her through the woods and into the academy.
