Logan felt the strap of his backpack come into his hands and then the small amount of weight made itself known. He threw the bag over his shoulders and looked over to where the boy stood. He smiled at the guy. ”Really, it’s not a problem. No need to apologize again. We’re both fine and that’s all that matters right?” Logan just thought about the fact that he had no idea if this kid was alright or not. He just assumed he was considering the kid was too busy apologizing. He hoped the guy was alright. Logan really focused on his ears to see if he could hear any sign of this kid being hurt. There would be signs; the guy could be cursing under his breath, words like ‘ow’ or ‘ouch’ were common if someone was in pain, strained talking. Logan didn’t really hear any of that so he let this thought go. After all nothing serious could have happened. It was just a little bump and fall to the ground.

Logan smiled when the guy told him his name. Lloyd seemed like a pretty cool guy to Logan. And the best part seemed the Lloyd didn’t notice what everyone seemed to about him. He was really tired of everyone he met being stiff and weird around him. He need some normal human contact. ”Nice to meet you Lloyd. My name’s Logan.” A sudden thought his Logan. What if Lloyd was holding his hand out for him to shake? People usually did that when they introduced themselves. Logan really hoped Lloyd didn’t see him as rude. Just in case Logan put his hand out for Lloyd to shake.

Noah smiled. ”I’ve been guilty of that as well. I’ve actually had people tell me to shut up. Strangely enough it happens to be when I’m on some rant about some really intelligent things. Dang people, ruining progress!” Noah didn’t know if Izzie would find that funny at all or if she just thought he was being a weirdo. He knew he could be a little strange but that’s what made him, him. So people would just have to deal with that.

Noah thought about her suggestion. He decided to go along with it. He didn’t need to be home yet. His mother would be happy that he was socializing with people. She never liked to see him just sitting at home. She always wanted him active. Truth be told, he hated being inactive. He was really into sports because of that reason. He hadn’t gotten a chance to check out the sports around here yet though. He made a mental note to check that out. ”I could do that.” Noah said as followed Izzie.

He thrust out his hand as Logan offered his, which seemed like the polite thing to do. But between tree girl and Logan, it seemed a lot of people had wanted to shake hands recently. Not that that was all bad. Lloyd thought a little politeness from time to time wouldn't hurt. Some may even accuse him of being old-fashioned, and it wasn't a lie that Lloyd perferred the etiequette and social standards of the early 20th century over now.

So up and down the boy's hand with Logan also once again shaking this hand into oblivion. "h-Hey Logan, I'm Lloyd." He stopped, laughing nervously. "B-But i already said that right? So yeah. I guess." Lloyd stood there, leaning back on the balls of his feet. "S-So do you always go this way? Because, well i never saw you before here and i've always gone this way because i take the bus and because i live in this apartment on the other side of town you know so yeah, i suppose that's why i'm asking." He tilted his head, studying the boy closer.

Something was off, he was sure, Lloyd was just bugged that he himself couldn't figure out straight away. He chewed his lip, leaning back, still waiting for a reply and still trying to detect exactly what was wrong.

So he did understand, to an extent, of what she was talking about. Since only her back was to him she allowed herself a smile as they walked up the steps to the school. This was getting better by the second she would say, if she was keeping score. The room where she hid all her supplies and jacket was thankfully unlocked, and she opened the door, keeping it ajar in case Noah wanted to come in. She threw her posters on the pile at the floor, and dragged them over to a spare cabneit in the corner of the room. This really was a spare classroom everyone used for extra storage, among other...less tasteful things. Izzie wrinkled her nose out of disgust just thinking that. Once the paint and posters were our of the way she unwrapped the sari, carefully wrapping it back in the bag she brought.

Now in her school clothes she looked relatively normal, and she patted back her hair, trying to get it to that exact size of messiness she preferred her hair to be in. Grabbing her beaded bag that housed her books and school items, she walked back out to Noah, leaning against a nearby locker. The school was alreadt far empty, some of the classroom's lights going off. In a small town, schools always shut down especially early. She wasn't in a rush to leave though, wanting to continue her current conversation. "So tell me Noah, vat do you feel like doing at ze moment? There are cafes in town, a mall, assorted places of recreation and sports." She flashed him a smile of her own, that could have different meanings if looked upon in a different light. It was her trademark, and she used it only when she was serious about gauging a person's true intentions. "How much time do you have to spare Noah?"

Logan felt his hand being pumped vigorously and it felt like Logan wasn’t really contributing at all to the handshake. Logan found this to be slightly amusing. It wasn’t often you got someone eager to shake your hand. Most people were usually delicate with him and as a teenage boy Logan really didn’t like that. What Logan wanted was a dog that he could just play around with and be active with. But he knew that was out of the question. If he asked for a dog his mom would take it that he meant a service dog and she wouldn’t hear anything else after that. When Logan got the use of his hand back he brought it back to his side and nodded at Lloyd.

Noah frequently took this way because it would just be confusing to take another way. But then Lloyd didn’t really know that now, did he? Noah nodded in response to Lloyd’s question. ”Yeah, I usually take this way when walking home. Sometimes I get a ride from my parents or someone. I usually start to walk a bit after school is over. Less people to run into that way.” Logan heard that Lloyd lived in an apartment on the other side of town. ”Do you live in the apartments on 3rd street? I live in those so I’m curious.”

Most of the time when he said that they usually giggled and walked away or glared at him and stomped off, this girl did neither and basically trusted him to an extent. “Thanks. It tends to get taken away from me a lot so it seems like its staying in great condition.” He couldn’t help but say with a small laugh as started to put the bags of items in the trunk where it would stay for the next few days until the weekend came. Finally he was done putting stuff in the trunk he pushed the cart to the cart center and moved back slipping into the car pulling up the seat slightly getting comfortable to drive the car.

His head turned slightly when she spoke his eyes watching her. “You’re right I likely won’t even touch you unless you ask me.” He let a grin out slightly and then started the car pulling out of the parking lot as he pulled on his belt.”Yet, who says I can’t think about it?” He raised his eyebrow slightly as they headed down the road at the speed limit. He already had one ticket under his belt there was no reason to get another one for anything reckless plus, he had a female in the car no reason for him to drive. Normally he hardly cared but females were something else to him even if he preferred to keep a distance from everything. “Shall I surprise my dear maiden on the places we shall see or would you like to see a certain kind of place first?” He asked turning another corner his eyes glanced to her for a moment and then forward once more.

“There a handful of places I shall show you today before it is there a certain place you like to start at? Bookstore? The small shops they have around here?” It was small so there wasn’t TO many places but it still had a handful of places where they could go even if it got boring after the first hundred times or if they didn’t get anything new. Everyone he had spoken to was out of here as soon as they finished college and he was one of the many too. A part of it did like it here but it was rather boring and not his kind of thing or at least he thought so.

Noah followed Izzie inside the school. He had only been inside their once and that was just to go the office. Looking around the place was even smaller than he thought. Well, the bright side of this was that he would get to classes faster. Then again, that could be a downside. Noah looked at his watch and was surprised to see the lights getting shut off so early. The place was also an eerie quiet too. Well Noah knew he wouldn’t be hanging around the school after hours too much.

Noah looked over at Izzie when she was in normal clothes and was actual surprised by it. It was quite a transformation. Noah shook his head to get rid of the look that probably showed shock on his face. He didn’t want to offend Izzie any more than he already had and he was sure that if she saw the look he gave her she would go off on something. ”Well I have all the time in the world. Okay, that’s a lie. I have till around midnight or so. My mom’s got some busy work and I’m sure she won’t mind me being out. Truth was, Noah was always out at least that late every night in his old city. His mom only had a problem with it after his dad died. ”Why don’t you pick something? What is there to do here in this town?”/color]

Jake allowed himself to grin when she explained she was pretty much a mixture of the two. "You're quite a conundrum, if I do say so myself, Saybrae." He said with a chuckle. A clumsy athlete? Was she clumsy on the field as well as off, or just off? Maybe she was so superb on the field that her body forced her to be clumsy to even it out. It just wouldn't be fair if it were any other way, would it? He shook his head, chuckling again, realizing he was going on about another harebrained theory.

He shrugged when she suggested that they all try to fly. "Maybe I will, someday." He mused thoughtfully, scratching his chin. He'd need to shave tonight or the school would force him to shave in the nurses office with no cream. He'd done it once before, and it was a nightmare. He remembered tracking down Kassidy and putting tons of lotion on his face. It helped the pain some, but then his face was greasy beyond reason. He just couldn't win with the situation. An idea came to him in regards to flying then. "It'd be cool to go skydiving one day, you know?" He said, looking at her. "Free falling and all. I bet it would be a huge rush."

"The arcade?" Jake repeated nodding his head in agreement. "That sounds good. I haven't been to the arcade in a good while, and I happen to be weighted down with some change that I wouldn't mind getting rid of." He grinned, staring back at her. "I am definitely in."

"Oh yeah..." Kassidy said when he reminded her where they knew one another, down to her exact seat in the class. That was interesting in a strange way, I suppose. She thought in regards to that as she began to scan his items when he'd started to put them on the conveyor belt. Good thing he's got a nice smile, otherwise I'd be on the verge of creeping out. She smiled back at him with a little more warmth than before. He must have really paid attention in that class. Lord knew she hadn't.

She nodded when he asked if her name was Kassidy. "You are correct, Bryce, right?" She said, becoming more confident that was really his name. When he mentioned the report she'd given on the fall of Usher, she nearly guffawed. He had a crazy good memory to remember that report of hers. She'd found the whole deal rather droll and just slapped down the first thing that had come to mind. "I... Thanks, I guess." She said in a slightly bewildered tone.

Kassidy laughed mirthlessly when he brought up the topic of where she was working. "Oh, you know. Need to pay the bills and all." She replied with a shrug. She grinned when he mentioned he wouldn't have pictured her in an everyday job. "Oh, I would enjoy being a writer, but there are too many starving artists in the world. I think I'll spare myself the shame of welfare." She chuckled.

Her eyes widened when he offered her a lovely red rose. She'd never been given a rose by someone at Wal-Mart, but there had to be a first time for everything, right? She took it with a small smile. "Well, I wouldn't consider us strangers..." She said as she tucked it away in her drawer to prevent it from getting smashed while she worked. "I do hope that you aren't offended since I don't recall any of your reports, though." She added with a laugh, "I tended to doze during that period more often than not."

Once she slipped on the back behind him and he knew she was good he kicked the kick stand up and started it up hearing her voice. “Wonderful.” A happy grin moved against his lips as he started it up and they were off without a second thought. Yuan stayed on the rode not wanting to get onto the sidewalk and slow down. At the speed he was going it was easy to pass other cars and not go over the speed limit. “We are going to have to walk a bit too once we get to a certain spot.” He said over his shoulder slightly but his eyes still on the road as they turned down another street and then another passing business and small houses and even people walking.

About ten minutes later they came up to the edge of town where there was a handful of trees. “Here our stopping spot.” He said pulling up into the dirt path and slowed down to a stop as his leaned over slightly putting his feet down so they were stable for her to get off and then he would. Once she finally slipped off he did too kick the stand to where it stood up and undid his helmet taking it off as he pushed his hair down trying to fix it even just a little bit.

Kari paused a moment at what he said. Get in trouble? That would certainly be a new experience. Her Great Uncle yelled at her a lot, but that was just because he was impatient, cranky, forgetful, and old. It seemed that old people tended to yell a lot, which sounded more like strained wheezing coming out of old Sylvester. How much trouble could they get into? Who knew? She certainly didn't. "Cross that bridge when we come to it," she said, quoting some book she'd read earlier that week. She assumed this is what that phrase meant anyway.

He asked if she could pick a lock, and her grin widened further. Good ol' Sylvester and his well locked medicine cabinet. Some days, he'd lock it, and Kari had no key with which to take out the magical white pills that put her uncle into an eight hour coma, so she'd learned quickly how to pick a lock. "That's the one thing I can do," she said with a laugh. She wondered if this is how most teens spent their afternoons. Maybe this was boring for most teens. She'd been out of her own world, it seemed, for so long. She pulled a bobby pin from her hair, bending and twisting it until it snapped in half. She headed toward the police car, looking around to see if anyone was watching. There were a few people here and there, but nome seemed to be paying any attention.

When school had let out for the day, Mika was relieved to finally leave the campus. She bolted out of the classroom and jogged to her locker. Mika didn’t like being at school for reasons being people were always giving her weird looks and tend to tease her about liking voodoo dolls and superstitious antics. However, Mika didn’t really care about what others say, it just annoyed her the fact that people would not even give her a chance just because of what she likes. As she was making her way towards her locker, she caught some girls whispering and pointed at her. Frowning at them she began yelling at them, “what?! What are you looking at huh?!” she yelled and the girls gasped and ran away from her. Mika may look like an innocent girl but she definitely had some bite to her. Now that she has gotten lots of attention from other students, Mika just rolled her eyes and began fiddling with the lock on her locker. Once she was able to unlock it she shoved most of her books in the locker and took the ones she needed for homework. Slamming the door shut she made her way outside the campus.

There was only one thing that she was really looking forward to after school, it was playing ball with her best friend Yunho. She had been friends with him every since he came to the country and despite that he can hardly speak English, he was actually a nice person. And even though he had his temper tantrums, Mika was always the one to calm him down. People were spreading rumors that they were secretly dating but Mika knew otherwise. She did not see Yunho as a possibly boyfriend, she only saw him as an older brother and hoped that one day that he would find someone and be happy. Though she did try to set Yunho up with her older sister but that was a total disaster. One thing was for certain, never to set up a hyperactive boy with a high maintenance girl.

As she was making her way towards the baseball field at the school, Mika started to reach in her bag. She pulled out a catching glove then zipped up her backpack. When she arrived at the baseball field, she saw Yunho already waiting for her. She smiled and waved her hand in the air and placed her backpack down near the bleachers. “Hey Yunnie!” she called out and assumed her position on the field. Yunho turned an faced Mika and returned the smile, “Hi Nana” he said then tossed the ball to the petite female. Mika kept her eye on the ball and raised her glove when it was time to catch it then she threw it back to Yunho. “How was class Yunnie?” she asked since they didn’t have a class together since he was a grade above her. Yunho caught the ball and answered Mika’s question, “fine, but people don’t like talk to me because they say I sound funny” he said in his thick accent. Ever since Yunho moved to the country, he had to struggle to learn English but even though his accent was rather thick his words were still clear enough to understand.
User Image

Mika frowned and caught the ball once again when it was thrown at her, “people are really mean these days. I have the same problem except they are scared of me because they found a voodoo doll in my bag” she said then returned the ball. Yunho laughed at Mika’s response he actually thought it was interesting for a young girl to be carrying around voodoo dolls and yet he didn’t believe in them so he had nothing to worry about, “yes, mean people…” While they were playing catch, Mika remembered that the homecoming dance was this weekend, “hey Yunnie did you ask anyone to the dance yet?” she asked feeling slightly curious. She knew that her friend was interested in Ashelin and wanted to know if he even asked her out yet.

Yunho paused and let out a slight chuckle, “no not yet, what about you? You ask Alexander?” Mika blushed when he asked her that question. She had always had a thing for Alexander but she knew it wouldn’t really work out. He would most likely freak out if he were to find out about her voodoo dolls and possibly her explosive anger. “Well I do like him but that doesn’t imply that we are going to homecoming” she said then noticed a slight change in facial expression on her friend. “What is imply?” he asked not knowing the meaning of the word. “Oh sorry it means to suggest” she answered in which Yunho simply nodded. “I still have a lot to learn” he said and continued on playing catch while the sun was still out.

Mika started to zone out after what Yunho had said to her. Sure she did like Alexander but she thought they were too different for one another. Though there was a certain person that she could catch staring at her sometimes, that person went by the name Lloyd. She actually wasn’t sure why he would stare at her every now and then but at the same time she also wondered why he wouldn’t talk to her. Maybe he was afraid of her like everyone else. She let out a sigh and missed the ball. She blinked a few times and bent over to pick up the ball, “oh sorry, hey Yunnie let’s stop for now and continue this tomorrow okay?” she said as she removed the glove from her hand and picked up her bag from the bleachers and waved at her friend. “I’ll see you tomorrow Yunnie” she said and began walking away. Yunho also decided to leave the baseball field and left the campus.

Mika needed to relax for a bit before heading home, so she decided to stop by at the local bookstore. She enjoyed reading books about witchcraft and superstitions. It wasn’t because she was practicing them, it was just show mere interest. Once she found the book that interests her, she sat down on one of the couches and started flipping through the pages. Yunho on the other hand was walking through the small town heading nowhere in particular. He stopped in front of a flower shop which was already closed. He looked through the window and stared at all the beautiful flowers. Their beauty reminded him of Ashelin and hopes to one day to give her a flower.

Izzie whistled through her teeth as Noah revealed his curfew. What she would give to be able to stay out after dark...but of course she has to get the paranoid mother who thinks the night sky unleashes evil spirits. She shook her head to herself as she began walking out of the school. A car was also an item high on her list to have. Being eighteen with no personal set of transportation. She sighed as well, her mood dropping lower and lower. That indeed was sad. She turned to Noah, already outside. "Hey, you don't happen to have a car do you?"

Thinking that came out wrong, she gave him another smile. "I mean, vell, vatever i vant? That indeed is something then. Vell...if you can stay out late, then how does a movie sound?" She blurted out the first idea that came to her head, not really thinking what it entailed. There was a few new movies she had been meaning to see, and now was a good time as ever to take advantge of it was it not? She leaned against the steps, still looking his way. The sun felt warm on her tan skin, and while waiting for an answer she tilted her head back, hair falling down freely as she relaxed, waiting for an answer.

Oonce again an arm was raised in victory, as Saybrae jumped up, bag in tow. "Then we shall be off for intergalactic conquest of the arcade kind! Or DDR conquest. Or Air hockey conquest. Or whatever games they have at that place." She rolled her eyes, smiling as she began walking out from behind the wall to the sidewalk in front of the school. She still turned back to Jake, arms waving over her head as a "come quickly" gesture. "So hurry Jakey Boy, time's a wastin'!"

While waiting for him to run after her, she took the troublesome cell phone out, glancing at the messages. Finally her dad had left one, so she flipped open the phone to read it. She kept one eye on Jake, the other on the screen in front of her. She rose her eyebrow, and couldn't help but call out a "Wooooowwww." It seemed he had forgotten that she was out of school, and allowed her to stay out till 8 today, out of forgivance. That was odd, even for her own father, so she dialed his number quickly, curious to see what was up.

Puzzled that he didn't answer right away, like he often did, she lowered the phone, punching in her home number. The dial tone seemed to ring on for ages, before finally the sound of the reciever being picked up was heard. "Hello?" Saybrae was still walking all this time, but as soon as she heard the voice on the other end she stopped dead out of shock, mouth dropping open. She lowered her gaze, brow wrinkling at the top. She stood there, listening to the other end, a look of both disbelief and now disgust evident on her features.

Avery smiled, she loved the way Josh smiled and it only made her heart want to melt. She was about to say thank you when his last part of the comment caught her off guard. She drooped slightly and looked at the mirror. "Well Josh, actually i dont even have a date" she replied, feeling a little upset. "or enough money" she thought. Going back into the dressing room, she took the dress off and put on her regulars clothes back on, only to see the lovely dress get put back on the clothes rack. "We should get your parents gift" she said, smiling again, keeping herself distracted.
